Cons: The adjoining motel hasn’t been remodeled and looks pretty sketch - glad we were not in that wing.

Cons: The pool area should have some lounge chairs and a bit more privacy.

Cons: One of the breakfast staff was rude. He took breakfast a little too seriously.

Cons: The closet was only about a foot from the side of the bed. It made it hard to get in to. But all the plusses of the hotel made it insignificant.

Cons: The reason I was okay being away from waterfront was because of the shuttle but the shuttle is not really useful for out of town tourist. VW bus are cool but can accommodate only six people at a time. Their timings are 9 AM to 8 PM. Eight is too early I felt for a tourist to head back to hotel IMO Returning from downtown you have to call the hotel to schedule a pickup which could be a problem if your phone doesn't work in Canada. Anyhow BC Transit compensated for it well with 5$ all day pass.You can use the same ticket for Butchart garden no need to pay for expensive tour operators.

Cons: For someone not used to city traffic noise, the busy road alongside could be fairly distracting.

Cons: Two floor complex so be aware of a heavy suitcase

On our way to check out, further back inside the Laurel Wing there was some much louder construction going on which would've been unbearable $17 for parking when there's a $8 Robbins parking lot right there was a little steep

Cons: I booked a ocean view room and end up a roof top view with very angle ocean view. The bell man help us get to the room, he also said it doesn't look like a ocean view room at all. Beside, the room very dated and furniture, carpet are all smell. So, I decide to upgrade to a newer building and paid extra $50 just for one night. Very disappointed the front desk lady keep emphasized that is a ocean view room!!

Cons: Walls were a bit thin, we could hear people in the hallway talking. They sounded like they were in our room.

Cons: The WIFI in our room was unusable in spite of high signal strength. After two days of making calls to Delta's tech support with no success, we finally gave up and used the internet in the lobby. We were unimpressed with the support offered by the staff.

Cons: Very few carts to haul uggage to room. That being said, the front clerk called and had a cart delivered to our room very quickly.

Cons: A bit out of the way for getting to the rest of Victoria. One traveller unable to walk well.

Cons: Reserved a room with a king bed. We were traveling from Seattle via the clipper that couldn't sail due to the marine forecast. Once we realized our trip was going to take 7 hours via buss to reach the hotel, I called to notify that we would be arriving late and was assured my room would be ready and that we would have a king bed, not 2 doubles. We arrived at the hotel and no king beds were available. But then the representative said I could upgrade for $40 more per night and beaten down by the 7 hour trip I agreed to pay the fee. Then we get the bill and it was $60 + $4.85 PST + $1.21 MRDT + $3.03 GST. I understand that the taxes are what the are but should have been quoted them and the hotel should have honored the quote made on arrival. I was offered $10 per night discount by the manager but still feel mislead. As a Marriott rewards customer for years and one who has stayed at Marriott properties all over the world, I will not be returning to this property. The maid service was also poor. The room was not vacuumed nor were the sheets ever changed on our 3 night stay. Additionally when we arrived there was left over spoiled food in the fridge. Lastly they did not replace plates and silverware in the kitchenette and when we came back to the room with takeout, we had to eat out of plastic containers. I do not recommend this property. If you are accustom to Marriott service and hospitality, you will not find it here.

Cons: Wish the swimming pool had been larger, not quite big enough for lap swims, wish they had provided a changing room in the pool restroom. Wish they had provided a small fridge in the room.

Cons: Bed was very uncomfortable.
