Pros: It’s a luxury hotel.
Cons: Our room was a bit on the hot side in the night, even in early November and with the air conditioning at full power. We had trouble sleeping, as we are used to chilling the room to 20 C or below for the night. The lowest we could get was 23 C.

Pros: The location was great everything reachable in a few minutes for my planed trip. The stuff was friendly and the room was amazing with it´s view onto the bund.
Cons: Car parking possibilities are there but the parking garage isn´t connected to the hotel and has to be payed extra. In my opinion such a hotel at such an category and room price has to include parking for free or at least offer a better price than 240RMB for two days.

Pros: The hotel is modern and almost perfectly located in the Jing'An district of Shanghai. It is a 5 min walk to the Subway station and around the corner from a number of great eateries both Chinese and Western. Travel time to places like the Bund/Concessions and Financial District are less than 30 mins by Taxi even less by Subway. Most of the staff speak some English which was not always the case in other 5-star hotels in China. Concierge was well informed and more helpful than the average as well. Another reviewer mentioned that they didn't like the hard beds. I like the firm, yet comfortable mattresses they have.

Cons: All 5-star hotels in China provide you with two bottles of drinking water per day. Swissotel's bottles were actually half-bottles. This is really nit-picking but I couldn't think of anything else I didn't like!

Cons: The main restaurant on the 2nd floor offers an excellent buffet breakfast with great international food variety ; however, the staff needs to be more pro-active to ensure an efficient service. On several occasions there were no tables available, not because they were occupied by other guests but because they were not clean.
The waiters, seems to be waiting for something to happen because some of them are not pro-active enough, seems they are waiting for instructions, or maybe they prefer to remain in their "comfort zone".
