Cons: CAN YOU BELIEVE that first they confirmed reservation of all three rooms. At last moment they surprised us by cancelling it. I SHALL NEVER STAY AT KEMPINSKI IN MY LIFE.

Pros: A fairly genuine five star hotel with well appointed rooms including the "standard" amenities, restaurants and facilities. Location in the heart of Pudong's business area suited my needs well.
Cons: Complimentary WIFI is a bit irritating in the it required constant re-logging on even inside the 24 hour day - none of the various location logins remembers you. The spa is mediocre with relatively poor service and the pool is far from the expected comfortable resort hangout but rather like a small town community pool where you are given a gross looking community bathing cap before entering the water. While I realize that I'm in a foreign country the overall level of English speaking (understanding) in public areas is below expectations for this class of international hotel. A $ 133.00 charge for a 3 hour late checkout.

Cons: Maintenance crew noisy in middle of the night. Wake-up call was an hour late one morning. Showers a bit leaky into the bathroom.

Pros: We paid with points since my parents foolishly got a timeshare they never use, which they somehow converted into IHG shares, and so no money charge; otherwise would have stayed elsewhere. They upgraded us (3 people) to each have our own bed, and to a large suite for free because my dad is a gold member (at first they tried to sell it to us for 600RMB a night but I called their bullshit and they gave it for free. That much per night in Shanghai is highway robbery for a hotel room alone). So not bad.
Cons: Pudong is the most boring part of Shanghai and since Century Ave is so large it takes a while to get to the metro regardless, nothing interesting in walking distance. Stay in the French’s Concession in a chic AirBnB or something, it’s far more charming and likely significantly cheaper. Hotels like this are for chumps.

Pros: Room situation was excellent.
Cons: Facilities- mediocre at best. The gym was fine but the pool was abysmal. Service- I get that the service in China is bad, I get it. But come on, train your service better. I couldn't get a taxi for half an hour, and the guy outside was trying to get a taxi for me. If they were smart, they would have called a taxi through phone.

Cons: Been return guest I feel that staff was careless from Front desk arrival to front desk departure. Room was very unwelcome. Change to a room that fridge door snap out of the hatch. Windows were super dirty that it was a shame curtains wete "motel 6 quality. Dirty and missing hooks.

Pros: We were blown away by this hotel! Loved our room and the VUE Bar up top. We can't wait to stay again.
Cons: One big downfall- my husband got food poisoning or something from the Aroma Restaurant Buffet. Not sure what it was he ate but he spent the next 12 hours violently evacuating it from his system. Bummer for a ¥600+ dinner. :(
