Located in Downtown San Francisco, this hotel is within a 15-minute walk of Asian Art Museum of San Francisco and Westfield San Francisco Centre. Lombard Street and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art are also within 1 mi (2 km).
Pros: The location was great but that's about the only thing.Cons: The hotel had a very weird smell throughout the entire building, we ended up with bunk beds in our room instead of just a regular bed. But the thing that was the most upsetting was the fact that there are no private bathrooms. The entire hotel has two bathrooms and a shared shower as well.
Awful room, awful bed, but decent customer servicePros: When I requested I leave due to the extremely uncomfortable bed and poor quality room the management were very kind and considerate. They checked me out and refunded me for the nights I did not stay. Central location and very low price. Cons: I had a room with a private bath. I knew since I was in SF it would be small but I had no idea how tiny it would be. The room was barely big enough to house the twin size bed. The closet-sized bathroom had the shower basically on top of the toilet. Compared to other small hotel rooms I've stayed at, space was utilized very poorly. For instance, there were two nightstands, but you couldn't rest anything on them since the lamp had a really wide base that took up almost the whole space. So you have to rest things on the edges, but since the bed is so small if you move your elbows they will be knocked off.
It was obvious that any time I spent in the room would need to be on the bed. I could probably have lived with that if the bed were at all comfortable. It was not. The linens were the worst quality I have ever seen in a hotel, they were extremely rough, scratchy, and contained a substance that massively irritated my skin. The bed, pillows, etc were also very uncomfortable.
I checked in late and so I had to spend one miserable night here before I could check out and get a much better hotel in the same area that was only slightly more expensive (The Park Hotel, 325 Sutter St). I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
