The Hotel zum Hirschen is Salzburgs oldest family-run hotel, conveniently located in the city center and only a few minutes by foot from the historic old town and the train station. Combining a historic building dating back to 1500 with modern architecture by award-winning local architects and designers, this fully renovated hotel is bound to impress. Pros:It was a very nice hotel right next to the train station and within walking distance to everything!
Pros:We have many many nice things to say about the Achat Plaza....Good location between train station and old town.....spacious room.....very modern bathroom.....air conditioning (every day we were there was over 90F)...good selection at breakfast.....very helpful staff.....free bottle of water at welcome.....free wifi.....excellent restaurant for dinner......nice lounge area with comfy furniture.....easy access to the bus lines.....nice exercise/sauna room on top floor (didn't actually use it- all of Salzburg was a sauna while we were there)......very nice running route if you're a runner, through a beautiful park and back along a pedestrian walkway by the river....
Cons:No complaints at all- the Achat was really a wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend it. It was obvious that this is a well cared for hotel that values the comfort of its guests.
Cons:Some bathrooms have leaking problems. My brother's room had some yellow liquid leaked into his bath. It was really disgusting.
