Ottawa hotels near University of Ottawa

Cons: I expected it to look a bit newer than it was.

Cons: When we arrived the room had an odour. The staff came and sprayed with air freshener. We were not offered another room. Later in our stay when we turned on the air conditioner in the corner of the unit on the smell of dog and urine wafted out. When I asked if pets had been housed in the room I was told pets were allowed in all the rooms. If you do not want a room used for pets this is not your choice

Cons: Construction across the street and noise.

Cons: Pillows were terrible. Ice machine did not work. Booked a hotel with a pool and it was not available to be used.

Cons: Softer pillow please.

Cons: Wifi would drop out every now and again.

Cons: Parking price was not listed. Cost $23/day! No mention of that in the add. Also breakfast was a straight $19/person. Too much!

Cons: The view from the room was depressing. The first one they offered looked upon a parking lot, the next one, which was the only other possibility, upon a construction site filled with debris. The reception desk personnel did not speak French. The bar decoration was not at all like the one posted on Kayak.

Cons: Room was directly above the garbage dumpsters, so very early every morning was rudely woken up by garbage trucks slamming dumpsters. I wouldn't normally mention this, but I specifically asked for a room in a quiet area. The dining option has a very limited menu and has a high cost compared to other options for the area.

Cons: The road construction made access to the hotel difficult. The traffic noise was also very loud on the third floor on a Saturday night.

Cons: high price for outdated room, staff could be friendlier, ugly view from our window

Cons: Rooms need to be renovated. Breakfast could have been included.

Cons: the underground parking was too low for us to use

Cons: Location being downtown and with all the construction work it was noisy early in the morning and late at night. The fitness and pool facilities are great but it is certainly missing a sauna and hot tub. Parking had to be valet and was 24$per day. That was very expensive and a huge upset that no free parking option was available.

Cons: The bathroom wasn't cleaned to my liking. I sensed a trace of urine smell. But I have a very discerning nose.

Cons: Location is further from downtown than other places we have stayed but not a huge issue.

Cons: The sheets on the bed were very old, thin and had little balls or pills that were uncomfortable. They need to invest in new sheets. The location is not close to downtown Ottawa.

Cons: When we arrived, there was no power in the hotel. Of course this is not their fault, but we weren't even informed by the concierge when checking in, it was the teenage doorman who told us that there was no power. Not a great first impression. When they checked us in, they sent us to an occupied room which was absolutely mortifying. The next morning we woke up and noticed that there was a blood stain on the top sheet.. that was not from my partner or I. We immediately called and asked for the sheets to be changed, and informed them we were heading out for the rest of the day. When we returned back to the hotel hours later, the sheets had not been changed. Totally disgusting. The next morning my partner decided to stay in Ottawa one extra day, and wanted to stay in the room an extra night (it was close to everything and his stuff was already there). When we went downstairs to pay the extra charge, they took an ADDITIONAL deposit. Totally ridiculous as they still had a deposit from the first two nights. Definitely would not stay here again! The location was great but there were far too many issues.

Cons: None of the dining options were very affordable, and breakfast is not included.

Cons: The limitation in variety of food at the restaurant.

Cons: The staff could not speak French. The room was obviously cleaned too fast the bed was poorly made and the bathroom was a bit dirty. There was a lot of dust on the furniture. There was no terrasse and no pool. There was no recycle bin in the room. The strong chemical perfume in the lobby.

Cons: Lack of curtain or window screen. Only a blackout shade was available so either your window was open for two very close buildings to peer into or your room was dark. Also the hotel was a little worn and the carpet needed a shampoo.

Cons: Needs to be more clear about parking. Is there a valet stand? Do we leave everything with the desk? Wasn’t clear on arrival.
