9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location close to the station and the Town centre. Lovely hotel with modern furnishings and friendly staff. Good wifi - I would definitely stay here again if I were in Nîmes.
Cons: Everything was great. There is no lift but this was made clear in the hotel information when booking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Personel was very nice and helpful, rooms comfortable and really clean! Coffee and tea in the room was a nice surprise :) I can't say anything bad about this place :)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very helpful. Location is as central as you can get and great for the train station. Large room for France with a good shower. Added bonus of tea making facilities. Our stay was so short we did not use all the facilities at the hotel, so can't comment on breakfast.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff. Good value breakfast at 10 euro each. Shower super clean and hot.
Cons: The toilet was the smallest room for a loo I have ever used!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location
Cons: Didn’t have an elevator
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for four nights. The room was not large, and had no English TV stations, but did have Netflix and we enjoyed a new show (10 episodes) we found. The bathroom was modern and large by French standards. We only paid 54 euros a night. The breakfast was nice for 10 euros. The staff was very nice, and twice printed things for us at the desk for no charge. There were two issues, which were not a problem. We were on the second floor (third floor in the US), but it was no problem walking up and down the large stairway. And we had a car, which we had to park on three separate occasions. Each time we were able to find a place on the street within one or two blocks of the hotel. And it is easy to pay at the machines on the corner. We stayed over a weekend and the parking is free on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. The machine takes that into account and you can just pay up to the time you will leave. We paid a total of 13 euros for 4 days of parking. All in all, it was a great choice.
Cons: It would have been nice for the BBC channel on the TV to work, or for an English news channel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in room 200. Great location, recently renovated, clean, good courtyard although very plain, TV worked well (almost all stations are in French). Small room but adequate (our friends room 304 was larger). Twin beds were comfortable. Quiet for a city location if you kept the window closed. Other than the coffee (which was good), did not have breakfast at the hotel so no comment on that.
Cons: This is an old property which we knew had no elevator but two flights of stairs (remember in Europe that the first floor is one flight up) were tiresome after a long day in town. No phone in our room although advertised as having one. Staff tried to install one from another room but line is bad feeding the room so still didn’t have phone service. May not be an issue for people with mobile phones but our friends didn’t have mobiles so had to trudge to their room to contact them. Shower floor is very slippery when wet. We put down a hand towel which really helped but now you have a soggy towel to deal with. Wi-fi was very marginal in the room. Hit or miss connection. No storage in the room except an open closet with an upper shelf (our friends room 304 didn’t have even the small closet). A chest of drawers would be nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect - right by the train station and the centre of the town. We had two concerts to go to (Festival of Flamenco) in different theatres and were delighted to find we could walk from the hotel to both theatres. The double room was of a high standard, especially the shower. Breakfast was very good value for money and well worth paying the extra for. All staff were very friendly and professional and gave good advice re restaurants and shops. We will definitely stay there again.
Cons: Nothing.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast could be improved

5.4 Okay
Pros: The gardens were wonderful, but the rest was a big disappointment
Cons: A good hotel that has a shower with plastic bathroom curtains.. not 4 star , the whole place had such poor lighting in the room and at the terraces ... no way one can read anything..
5.4 Okay
Pros: Lovely comfortable bed, great bed linen. Candlelit gardens.
Cons: Tricky location not near anything you want! Dingy lighting throughout, masquerading as atmosphere. Too much style over content. Eye-watering prices. Eg continental breakfast with inadéquate choice Euros.28pp. Glass of Champagne Euros.25. Parking Euros.25 per night. In top of Euro.280 room rate when the hotel was far from full..... But....only one small bottle of water in the room, not one on either side of the bed which one would expect. No nice little fruit basket or individual touches in the room. Bath towels on the other side of the bathroom from the shower. Only one soap.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely beautiful stunning and fascinating house. An absolute gem. Very romantic haven from the bustle of lovely Nîmes. The place has been restored with passion.
Cons: Nothing. It was the most perfect bijoux residence
8.8 Excellent
Pros: great breakfast convenient location
Cons: decor a bit overwhelming
7.1 Good
Pros: Amazing Breakfast in garden Really perfect everything
Cons: Bad internet Plugs Etc
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Hotel run extremely efficiently by caring and friendly staff. General manager a delight.
Cons: Perfect in every way very efficient and attentive staff. But.....extras such as breakfast garage and incidental drinks far too expensive.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The garden and the overall experience, lovely breakfast in the garden, excellent service
Cons: If you’re not very mobile it can be awkward with lots of stairs and shower baths
Le Pré Galoffre - Nimes - Building

8.5 Excellent (834 reviews)
₹ 8,002+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Le Pré Galoffre in Nîmes (Costières), you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Temple of Diana and Fountain Gardens. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nicely renovated old building. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast looked tasty but didn’t have it ourselves.
Cons: Located near heavily trafficked roads, not really in the countryside but also not near Nîmes center.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely charming. It’s location not far from the auto routes was ideal for our over night stay. The staff were very hospitable and helpful. Great breakfast. Bathroom was a bit tired and could do with some renovations.
Cons: The charge for the dogs was a bit high. At the end of the stay the cost of the breakfast plus the dogs was more then the cost of the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice and the hotel was in a very nice location. We chose it because it was dog friendly and had their own parking. We did not get to try the restaurant as it was already fully booked. We ate at the hotel immediately next door which was so-so but it was very late when we arrived and we needed to eat!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, cleanliness, staff
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We especially liked the water bowl and blanket for Nica our dog. We liked the well proportioned bed and bathroom. The doors leading onto a small patio we imagine would be lovely in summer. We had been a bit concerned having read the reviews. The shower has a short screen but we did not find any water bypassing it and in any case the floor is tiled. As for the long distance over pebbles causing difficulties with wheeled bags...it’s a short distance and the pebbles are now well embedded. I guess it is a case that you can please some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time but you cannot please all of the people all of the time!
Cons: The restaurant was closed but then it is winter. As it is a hotel with a receptionist, a small bar would be a nice addition.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent friendly staff and service. Good food both breakfast and dinner.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice setting, close to Nimes, pleasant surroundings, quiet, relaxed, nice and comfortable rooms with small fridge. We were given two rooms at the price of a family one as they were out of family rooms.
Cons: We were greeted quite unpersonally and without information (wifi, breakfast) and that always makes you feel less welcome even if this is a nice hotel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful
Cons: nothing
4.5 Okay
Pros: Staff were extremely helpful and kind. Likely to make up for the hotel's shortcomings.
Cons: Tiny, cheaply finished rooms. Rooms stripped of basics (soap/waste bins). Feels like a cheap motel. 20-minute drive from Nîmes proper. Pool tiny and dirty. Understaffed. Food service on a porch only. For those whose prime concern is cost; no joy otherwise.

Cons: The bedroom was clean and well presented but the bathroom needs updating.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, very helpful proprietor
6.0 Good
Cons: Breakfast could improve. Not standard for French breakfast
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very central location, in a quiet street just two minutes' walk from the amphitheatre; my balcony room was clean, comfortable and much larger than I expected; nice and warm on chilly December nights; plenty of wardrobe/shelf/drawer space (not always the case in French hotels); nicely refurbished bathroom was bright and fresh; pleasant and helpful owners and staff
Cons: The only significant negative was that the WiFi connection dropped after an hour - it was easily restored by returning to the provider's home page (details didn't have to be re-entered) but irritating, nevertheless; the rather traditional décor will be seen by some as old fashioned, but that's very much a matter of taste; furniture, though perfectly serviceable, has seen better days; breakfast is a little limited, though this is hardly unexpected in a small 2 star hotel; view from the window/balcony across to the other side of the (fairly narrow) street is a bit dreary (though this is inevitable , given the location, and is not really a big deal); I know big, square pillows are the norm in some parts of France, but I REALLY hate them!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location from train station and centre of town is perfect. Really clean, comfy beds, great value for money and the express breakfast for €4.50 is perfect.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very easy access to the city centre and for the station. Quiet but central. Rooms are very well designed and appointed.

Pros: The location of the hotel is perfect. At 7mn walk from the train station, next to the arenas and at the edge of the beautiful old town! Walking distance from the Roman Temple (Maison Carrée), the Historic Gardens (Jardins de la Fontaine) and the Ancient Roman Tower (Tour Magne)!

Pros: Manager Marcus very accommodating!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cozy tastefully decorated comfortable nice size room big window with double vitrage very friendly but discreet staff
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, location, location.
Cons: No lift, but that was not a problem for us.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Located within 100 metres of the arena and a stones throw from local shops and restaurants i thought this budget hotel was a winner. Its also within walking distance of the railway station. My room was basic but spotless. The linen was of very good quality and the bed was really comfortable so i felt like i was sleeping somewhere of a decent standard. My bags were carried upstairs for me by the owner as well. I wouldnt hesitate to stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: In the centre of Nîmes, and perfectly located for exploring. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was perfectly French. Rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped.
Cons: Just note you cannot park at the hotel. There is a car park close by, but it is a 5 minute walk with luggage.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: English speaking staff welcoming and helpful. Large and comfortable room (#8) overlooking Place du Marche with ample flat space and actual arm chairs. Comfortable bed. The building is old and interior shows its age, but altogether it adds to the character and charm of this perfectly located (10 minute walk from Gare, two minutes from Amphitheater and minutes from restaurants) hotel in Nimes. Large clean bath (by European standards) with roomy shower. Perfect location for exploring the old city.
Cons: No lift. No English language TV channels. Odd shower control right handle starts water with and left starts and adjusts hot water, which takes a while to appear. Management needs to add a small shelf in shower for soap and shampoo. Need larger bath mat. Power cord on kettle too short--had to move it around to operate safely. We bring a 3-way 22V adapter bought on an earlier European trip and a short extension cord brought from home to deal with outlet limitations and awkward outlet placement typical of European hotels).

Cons: The heating system was stopping and difficult to get it to start.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a superb location for rail travellers, just across a square from the station. It was comfortable, clean and to the standards you expect from this brand and represented excellent value for money for the advance payment price. Staff were friendly and helpful and the included breakfast buffet was well presented with a wide choice of items available,
Cons: No issues and no negatives
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast at this hotel was great - more than enough options. Selection of hot and cold foods was appreciated. Coffee machine worked great.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Close to the train station and had easy parking at its own underground garage. The Amphitheatre is less than ten minutes walking from the hotel. Breakfast was basic but good! Room was clean.
Cons: Nothing.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I stayed at the Ibis Styles for 3 nights in December. We thought it was great. The hotel is right behind the train station, which was great for us, as we were using the train for transport. A short walk through the train station and diwn a picturesque walkway got us right to the middle if the old town. The staff was very helpful and had great recommendations for meals. Breakfast was included and snacks were available all day and also included in the rate. Would definitely stay here again!
Cons: The rooms are great! The only negative is they they are a bit small and a little dark. But, the space is used very well and it was perfect for what we wanted to do. Great value for the money!

Pros: I like that is in a great location for everything. Restaurants are close train is also close. Tourists spots walking distance. The hotel great amazing staff as well.

7.7 Good
Pros: Location, opposite the railway and bus station. Cheap rates. Not a lot of services, but is good enough Relatively comfortable room
Cons: In comparison to other ibis budget, I missed a microwave for public use. Very, very slow water drainage in shower. Some nights, shower was more an alternance of hot and cold water than a mix. Internal building sounds, like doors closing, were more a problem than external soundproofing, for me well blocked by the window.

9.7 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was only a 15 min walk (even for a tired 4yr old) to the center/train station but felt more like a small tucked away hotel you might find on a hillside somewhere. The courtyard/pool is stunning, with a really nice space for eating outside as well. The wind in Nîmes meant it never got too hot, but also meant the water in the pool was very very cold. The train to the beach at Grau du Roi (where the water is a bit warmer) took less than an hour and was only €1 each way. Great boulangerie across the street, plus a Carrefour just around the corner. The friendliness and helpfulness of the reception staff really sets this hotel apart. I travel extensively for work and can only think of one other hotel with staff so helpful, and that was after staying at that hotel for a month, not just the few days I spent at L'Orangerie.
Cons: We stayed in two different rooms. The first was more expensive but a bit more shabby. Its shower room really needed updating. The next room we had booked was much more cheerful and fresh, and the bathroom was fine.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Balcony, air conditioning, separate wc
Cons: WIFI mostly wouldn't connect in room and if it did - dropped out immediately.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy access when arriving by car, about 20 minutes walk to town centre. Plenty of on site parking. Very comfortable bed. Staff helpful. Several nearby restaurants - particularly recommend Asian buffet restaurant.
Cons: Swinging side panel on over bath shower did not fit correctly and it was impossible to shower without getting bathroom floor wet. Breakfast buffet normally good but on one morning all pastries seemed to be stale. TV channel numbers quoted for foreign language channels in bedroom information book were totally incorrect - we never did find BBC!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were fantastic, and really looked after us. Thanks
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Its amazing hotell, beautiful room, staff perfect ONLY its happen i eat breakfasts one morning, its not much Its lest then basick breakfasts ,and i found my coffee cup chipped, and juic glass chipped to ..
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived the hotel at 9.00 p.m. We had told the reception that the theft had broken our car and took all our luggage. We also didn't eat anything yet. She is very kind to call the restaurant to book the table before they closed. Next day morning, the girl in breakfast room was heard our lost. She was feel sorry to us and told us to bread and juice for our journey.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Not a lot.
Cons: The Breakfast is just far too expensive for what you get - coffee and a slice of toast - 13.50 euros.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like that is in a great location for everything. Restaurants are close train is also close. Tourists spots walking distance. The hotel great amazing staff as well.

Pros: The hotel was absolutely stunning, the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb and our evening meal was one of the best meals we have ever had. Breakfast was also fantastic with a large selection of pastries and fruit. The location of the hotel is perfect with everything just a short stroll away which was exactly what we wanted.
Cons: Nothing all excellent.

Pros: Truely a leading and amazingly beautiful hotel: + exceptionally friendly staff everywhere + beautiful design from the lobby, via the bar and in the rooms + the historic building has been newly renovated and just reopened 2 months ago, but kept the historic elevator + the SPA has the most friendly staff creating a beautiful quiet and relaxing atmosphere + features a quiet inner courtyard and outdoor pool in the middle of the city + Wifi is fast and the TV has Chromecast allowing you to use it as a display for your own devicesp
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Didn't stay for breakfast. Location very close to centre and easy reach of all sites and facilities. There was no street noise which is very welcome.
Cons: the swimming pool could have been larger
8.3 Excellent
Cons: The fitness center wasn't ready due to renovation but on the website it advertised otherwise. The airco wasn't working.

Pros: An absolutely fantastic hotel and would love to return
Cons: Nothing!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I thought that breakfast is just too expensive, but it could have been really brilliant, so I won't comment any further on that. The room is very clean. The staff is excellent both Jacob and the other ladies could not be more friendly and helpful.
Cons: We had a problem with our wifi, so could not use Chromecast, so were stuck to television with language we did not speak. The problem was solved the next day by moving us to another room, but a bottle of wine for the inconvenience would have been appreciated. Due to circumstances, we were not able to book a table on our 2nd night and not being able to do so, apart from hours later (we wanted 1900) is not good. Guests should always be able to book. However, Jacob showed us where a good restaurant could be found, translated the short menu and booked for us and we were very pleased with that. The 3rd day the receptionist had very kindly booked for us, so we would not miss out, but we were sat in front of the kitchen/What I call hallway of the Brasserie. I have just had a knee replacement, so getting in and out of those low chairs is not easy. The tables/chairs are also not really suitable for dining. Yes, comfortable to sit in, but not good for dining. On our first night we had a lovely young man from Montpellier serving us and he was brilliant. However, the 2nd night the young lady who did the booking dit not speak any English (I speak a little French) and the young waiter had the same problem. The white wine was too warm and it would be nice if the waiters not constantly poor wine into a glass that is not finished yet. A. it means you constantly have to keep you with your partner / B. the wine remains warm as it is constantly topped up on warm wine. The location was lovely, but as we moved from a higher up room which was more quiet to a lower floor room, we had a lot of problems with the noise. On our first night on the 3rd floor, the bottles (I assume) were loudly emptied into a skip at around 0600 in the morning. Not nice at all. I specifically asked for a quiet room as we live in the middle of a city and finally would be able to sleep in a little bit. But nothing but praise for Jacob and the ladies behind reception! They made such a difference :-)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, hotel amenities, the welcoming staff, and the concierge.
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Front of house staff and car parking control excellent, attentive and helpful. Room staff not up to replenishing tea and coffee making equipment. The only real problem is , like many hotels in France, showers are not safe, having slippery floors and soap and tiles do not mix. No grab handles or anti skid protection. Easily cured by using the floor mat inside the shower rather than outside. The restaurant was excellent and the service superb and not that expensive considering the location and quality.
Cons: Room cleaner should have recharged the free tea and coffee supplies in the room. Slippery tiles in the otherwise huge excellent shower and no grab handles. You would think their insurers would require this. Parking is expensive at 30 euros a day, but the retrieval service is fast and excellent and the car is guarded most of the time.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location. The equipments. And above all the wonderful staff !
Cons: Superior room a little tiny

Best Western Le Marquis de La Baume - Nimes - Bedroom

Overview Reviews
In the heart of the historic center of Roman Nimes, the Best Western Le Marquis de La Baume is nestled in a former town house dating from the 17th Century. With its romantic patio, its historic staircase and antique ceilings, the Best Western Le Marquis de La Baume is the ideal starting point for visiting Nimes and the Gard. This 4 Star hotel is actually very close to the many sites and listed monuments of the city that have witnessed 2000 years of history.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The building is very unique and new.
Cons: Breakfast was not so impressive as others reviewed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 13th century building, history under your feet, and yet gorgeous bedding, top notch bathroom :) secured parking 3 mn away.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location was good and the staff very friendly. The building is nice.
Cons: Your had to be so close to the reception desk to use even the weakest signal of WiFi which according to reviews in Nov was going to be rectified but it was lousy. The breakfast was just adequate. Nothing to write home about. The fold out couch bed had to be slept on backwards to stop rolling into the middle. Luckily that was the kids bed. Ours was great!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Apart from issues with parking being offsite and wifi not working, the hotel and facilities are excellent, beautiful building, extremely helpful staff, great breakfast and awesome location. Very nicely curated rooms too.
Cons: Parking is offsite, difficult to find, and 15.80 per day. The wifi is woeful/ mostly doesn't work, i feel the property should not advertise as having parking and wifi facilities unless they are on site and work.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The bed was comfortable.
Cons: f you are looking for a 4 star hotel experience this definitely isn’t it. The room was cold and I had to ask for an extra heater. The heater in the room only blew out Luke warm air in the dead of winter. The rooms are old and the curtains were falling off. There is only one choice for a glass of wine (embarrassing for one of the most well known regions for wine). The red wine was corked and when I asked for white wine the staff served it to me warm. She did not know that white wine should be served cold because she doesn’t drink. In what 4 star hotel is this even possible?? Note there is NO restaurant service at this hotel. If you arrive late at night and you are hungry you must order food (which I did from Uber eats) or walk around in a somewhat shady neighborhood searching for a restaurant. The breakfast is a joke. Cold eggs and sausage kept warm only by tea light candles??? How can 10 tea light candles heat a thick metal container? There were burnt croissants and the rest of the breakfast is cold. This hotel should be downgraded to 2 stars. Best western should be embarrassed.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The staff was friendly and the building really lovely.
Cons: The bathroom was covered in mould. The wall next it it was swelled with water and mould. In the middle of all that there was an electricity socket. The bed was so hard that for a person with regular weight, it is a problem. On top of that the pladtic protection sheet on the bed was only covered with a thin sheet ( with holes in it). The bathroom tap was missing a part which resulted in water splashing everywhere. Sorry to say it was one of the poorest nights at this chain.

Pros: Very modern in an historic building. The owners were extremely nice and helpful. The building was convenient to the rail station and all of the historic sites.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was a revelation. Quite small and tall, with no lift but so central. The staff were superb, friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We were able in a large public underground car park about 200 yards from the hotel. The rooms although not huge were a good size with a super en-suite, breakfast was served beside the reception area on the ground floor and the buffet was great with plenty of choice. The hotel is right in the centre of the city and most places were within 15 minutes walk. The roman remains are spectacular and have to be visited, but this is not to take anything away from one of the nicest cities we have been to. We were only 45 minutes from the Camargue and the Med. About an hour from Arles , Avignon and a bit further from Alba La Romain ( This is a must visit as is the Pont Du Gard). The receptionist recommended a small restaurant about 40 metres from the hotel called 'Les Folies Boucheres'. We can highly recommend this restaurant as well, in fact JUST GO!! All in all a terrific holiday destination which we have earmarked to visit again and to stay once again at the Central Hotel.
Cons: For older people with an infirmity there is no lift but apart from that everything from our point of view was AAAA++++++
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A comfortable hotel with friendly, helpful staff in a good location within easy reach of amenities and places of interest. A good breakfast with plenty of choice including olives and sun blushed tomatoes.
Cons: I cannot think of anything that I was unhappy about - perhaps the room was a little narrow and short of space but it was suitable for one person for a few days.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the location ... everything easily reached on foot. The breakfast was adequate, but far from memorable. The front desk staff were uniformly pleasant and helpful.
Cons: Nothing in particular comes to mind.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nice bed
Cons: Location in the mist of a labyrinth of one way streets.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location right in the centre of town. Very small and simple room but nicely furnished and amazing value for money. Friendly and helpful receptionist. Secure underground parking 100m away in the square. Receptionist recommended an excellent restaurant 50m away.
Cons: The staircase is narrow and steep, which is not ideal when you have heavy bags and are on the third floor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and friendly staff.
Cons: No lift.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The reception people were really helpful and charming. It’s possible to use a public parking with a great discount. Excellent experience!!

Cons: Toilet area a bit tired looking and needs updating Step up to shower from bathroom floor - not ideal Felt room needed a bit of sprucing up Only one pillow each - wss not really enough when we tried out, suppose we could have asked for another, but it was getting late by time we went to bed.
