Location was great for my business in the city. Staff was nice.
The lobby was under construction, walls were thin in my room so it was noisy at night. No coffee available until 7am and I had to leave in mornings by 6:30am. Rooms were very small.

The staff were accommodating when I requested a late checkout due to an interview in the city - it was great to have a place to come back to and change before another long travel day. This is the second time I've stayed at the hotel and each time the stay has been nice, staff friendly, and rooms comfortable and clean.

Enjoyed my stay. The rooms are petit but have all you need. Bathroom a decent size with a good shower. Nice pastries in reception for breakfast + kettle to make tea / coffee. Easy walk to many midtown locations. Street noise average for NY. Staff were very friendly. Overall a very nice surprise considering I had never heard of the hotel before
WiFi often needed to be logged back in when you returned to your room but worked well when connected

Weekend Business Trip
This hotel is very cute and boutique. It's unique character is charming and inviting. I was only there for the weekend for a short business trip and the hotel was a 5 minute walk from where I needed to be, so the convenience to a lot of locations within walking/subway distance is a major plus. Even though NYC traffic is loud the hotels windows blocked out a majority of the noise, which was nice for a small city girl to be able to fall asleep easily! Overall a lovely experience at this hotel!
The only thing that was a huge issue for me, which is not the hotels fault, was all the party people coming in at all hours of the night and being unbelievably loud at 3am. Woke up several different times during both nights which wasn't fun. Heavier doors or maybe asking guests if they are in for business then putting them away from the elevators? Again, not the hotel's issue, just wasn't a restful night of sleep.

Descent hotel but location and other patrons a bit odd
I booked this last minute to get a quad room for a family. They ran out of rooms with two beds so after some back and forth gave us a suite with one bed and a couch. The weird thing about this hotel is that it is located next to the museum of sex. My 7 year old kept asking if we could visit (not good) and there were a lot of younger/partying people on our floor that yelled into the night. Overall this hotel is fine, but beware of the slightly odd location.
Museum next door and younger crowd- not great for families
About
Overview
The Evelyn is an avant-garde hotel situated in the modern NoMad neighborhood, named for jazz legend Evelyn Nesbit. The art-deco styling of the hotel is inspired by history and modern style, offering guests a boutique stay like no other. Within walking distance, visitors will find Madison Square Park, Gramercy Theatre, the Empire State Building, and Dover Street Market, just to name a few. All of the best attractions in the city are just steps from this hotel, and a short taxi or subway ride can escort guests to other great sights around New York City during their stay.
Located in the stylish Flatiron District, the hotel has a history that dates back to the early 1900s. Guest rooms come complete with all of the modern amenities, including Frette linens, flat-screen TVs, and free WiFi throughout the hotel. Pre-war details and modern designs fill the many guests rooms, which are designed for comfort in a compact space without compromising quality. This hotel was once at the epicenter of the American music industry, situated in what used to be Tin Pan Alley in the early 1900s. Today, it still pays homage to that history.
The Evelyn leaves dining and drinks up to Chef Jonathan Benno, who has created a Roman-inspired cafe and bakery as well as a fine-dining Mediterranean style restaurant, all within the hotel walls. The hotel also offers a 24-hour fitness center and gym, private event spaces, and concierge service for trip planning, excursions and event tickets, and more.
