Pros: location
Cons: room, food
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great central Kampala location. It’s on the edge of the red light District but that causes absolutely no problem at the hotel. The rooms circa 125 - 128 at the front overlook the Sheraton gardens which are very nice and are away from the Rock Garden that can be noisy at night if you are closer. Staff were all excellent.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Room service (cleaning) Shower Food menue in rotation restaurant
Cons: 1. Personal tries to put their nose into business related meetings. E.g. meetings on parking lot about sale of motorcycle was 'closely followed' by stuff. On the other hand the manager did not allow, that the receiption is forwarding interested buyers to room. 2. On last day there was no water bottle in room, receiption answered on 11pm, that there is no water possible till 6am, except for payment. 3. Rotation restaurant has bad white wine on menue. 4. Sundays the business center (printouts, copies,...) Is closed.

Pros: Nice people sense they are trying but not always sure what to do. Recent addition of fitness center a plus.
Cons: Internet inconsistent
6.0 Good
Pros: Staff was very friendly and always willing to help. Rooms are clean despite the low maintenance of the building in general.
Cons: The building is not very well maintained. Some plugs were malfunctioning for instance. Lights in the bathroom are not string enough to save properly.

6.7 Good
Pros: Massage Parlor
Cons: View of golf course
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic pool for training in and just getting refreshed and that whole area of the hotel is very relaxing as you look onto the golf course; breakfasts were the best I have had in Kampala and the rooms are very large. It was a very good venue to check into for a weekend of hard work on the laptop.
Cons: Lighting in the rooms is not great; the aircon keeps the air fresh but not particularly effective at cooling the room; hot water was a bit erratic.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent varied breakfast and the location and the ambiance was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent and the hotel was central and you felt safe.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The morning breakfast was excellent. The buffet meals in the evening were superb and the staff were very welcoming
Cons: The showers were awful. The cold/hot water arrangement was challenging. This is an area which was of great concern. We didn’t have any slippers in the bathroom so if you can remedy the above I will definitely come back.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We liked the friendliness of the staff and the close vicinity of the golf course in the middle of the city, which made it much less noisy. Even the restaurant with an excellent chef for breakfast and dinner was well above standard.
Cons: -
7.0 Good
Pros: Friendly staff and ready to assist to make me comfortable. Good food
Cons: Drinks are a bit expensive
6.3 Good
Pros: Location is great, rooms are a bit old but clean, breakfast is really nice
Cons: I booked a ‘queen room with city view’. The first room they gave me was facing a wall about 1m outside the window. I complained and got a room on the ground floor facing the driveway. I tried to get what I booked and paid for, but the staff was very unfriendly and not accommodating at all. I just hit a wall. A big zero in terms of customer service. The Marriott name unworthy
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Really enjoyed my stay - the room was large, very quiet and comfortable. Staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful, especially the housekeeping staff. I specifically requested a quiet room & was given one (upper floor overlooking the conference centre at back). The breakfast buffet was superb and even included a cappuccino. (Usually you have to pay extra for this). The room service menu was also very good and did not include an extra charge. Food arrived exactly as ordered and promptly within 10 minutes of ordering. Generally found the service and management to be of a high standard!
Cons: The shower has been designed without a door - so water tends to flood the floor in the bathroom, which can make it slippery and hazardous. There is no towel rail for hanging your towel. Would be useful especially if you don't want to use the same one again & to save the planet! Would also be nice to have a bar fridge in the room to keep water cool.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: good coffee, omelets and tasty pineapple.. nice ambiance of restaurent,
Cons: times noisy
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Food and staff
Cons: No minibar

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fruit and hot items at breakfast
Cons: More local fruit like avocado jack fruit and mango available . Turn on lights in dining area at night, too dark.
7.0 Good
Pros: The place was well located for a conference at Serena, and the breakfast was pretty good every day. The beds were comfy, and the rooms are quite large. The staff was pretty friendly.
Cons: The hot shower was not good - with any water pressure the hot water turned quite cool and kept me shivering. The WiFi only works in the main lobby, and is erratic even then, which means doing work in the hotel room can't happen if you need internet, which very much upset me (as I was there for a work conference). Lastly, the maid service was not great - they wouldn't refill the toilet paper even though it was finished, and towels had to be asked for about half of the days.
4.0 Okay
Pros: - The staff was friendly and helpful. - Room size is very big and spacious. - Nice coffee for breakfast (you can order cappuccino etc at the bar).
Cons: - I had an apple in the room that was partially eaten when i got back from work. Initially i thought the cleaning staff must have been hungry, but i have than subsequently found mouse poo in my luggage which explained what had happened... I'm kind of glad i didn't see the mouse myself and only realized after I had left. I probably wouldn't have slept well knowing. - Internet didn't work properly one of the days i stayed there.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The livingroom space was lovely and was able to accommodate guests Kitchen utensils were sufficient and enabled me to cook my own food The service was great and the staff made every efforts to resolve a situation where possible. The location was convenient as it's in the city
Cons: The decor was abit outdated and probably needed a revamp Bathroom was massive, but old and had alot of wear and tear. Permanent stain Mark's were all over the bathtub On more than one occasions the wifi will disconnect in the evening and wont come back till the morning- frustrating as I heavily relied on the wifi to call out and receive calls
6.0 Good
Pros: The apartments are very big and quite comfortable. The location of the hotel is in a safe area and in walking distance from the centre of town. The personnel was very kind and tried their best to help. Also, we were allowed a late check-out on departure day at no extra cost and even gave us a room to change into travel clothes.
Cons: The building is really ran down, especially the atrium. When it rains, you can't sit there because it's leaking everywhere! Also, the bathrooms need a serious make-over. They are uncomfortable and not always in good working order.
4.0 Okay
Pros: central location
Cons: from the window you can only see other windows, pretty close the kitchen is poorly equipped, for example, no forks The restaurant is terrible, both the food quality and service wifi didn't work most of the time
5.0 Okay
Cons: Bad breakfast service
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The breakfast area is very nice and the vibes are good. The gym area is better than in other hotels in Kampala. The rooms are very spacious and the aircon is quite silent.
Cons: The safe didn't work and never got fixed. They tried to bargain us into prices higher than list prices. We booked a room for 3 people incl. breakfast since it was cheaper than a smaller room for two people - but were denied a third towel and of course also breakfast for the third person. The worst: Wifi didn't work at all, so we had to use our mobile data. Unacceptable for a conference hotel and very annoying for us being there for business. Gym courses recommended to us by the trainer didn't even take place the next morning "because it's January". One night the water didn't work for several hours which was crucial for us since we had to shower before leaving for a business meeting. We weren't allowed to use another room but were directed to the gym area with mixed showers, and asked to take our own towel. All okay for a hostel or guesthouse, but not here. No signs of an apoligy or less a compensation for the inconveniences. Terrible value for money.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and always happy to help! My room was very nice, comfortable and clean. The hotel is not super big, but therefore quiet and it's modern. Ideal for what we needed. The on-site restaurant is good and fast.
Cons: My friend's room had some mould in the bathroom. But when she complained she got immediately moved and even upgraded to a better room.
7.9 Good
Pros: Clean room, friendly and helpful staff. Very accommodating
Cons: It’s supposed to be a prime location, but there’s very little at a walking distance The breakfast was quite basic I also have to say that I was there in the middle of the corona outbreak, so the hotel was very empty.
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel is nice and clean.
Cons: The breakfast was of a good quality, but not too varied.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very nice. View from my first room was not good but I was moved to a much better room after the first night. Staff are very polite and professional. Was a pleasure to stay at Urban City Blue Kampala. This was my third time. I will be back!
Cons: Coffee could've have been hotter and stronger.
7.0 Good
Pros: The rooms were excellent - big and with all the comforts. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The location was good for our purposes.
Cons: The breakfast could have been better. The pool is located in the middle of the property so it does not invite to sunbathing - too much people around.

Cons: The front desk team kind of took there time to check me in, I have a feeling they looked at me and felt I couldn't afford to stay there.

Cons: It was crowded and the promised balcony was very tiny.

Pros: The cleaness of the place
Cons: The parking lot..very small space..
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: Because when you use the credit cards with them they will steal your money they scan it with a scanner and you wouldn’t know and how but you will see a transaction from your card without you approval
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The setup and tidiness of the place. Really lovely place to just come and unwine. You see Uganda is in different light.
Cons: The hidden costs, the restaurant menu doesn’t income VAT and you pay before checkin. Let me enjoy the pay you. Most nice places are like that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the property, the weather
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff helpful and friendly, room was clean and quite big food ordered from terrace restaurant was very good. but a bit pricey. nice area down by the lake and the service there was good also,
Cons: Some things on the write up of the hotel were not there instance needed cash according to the write up there is a ATM on site but there is NOT!! and there exchange rate for changing money is poor, Check out was very slow and long process, There is no executive lounge as portrayed in the write up, walking around the place is quite nice but was unable to use the pool at weekend as over crowed from people from outside coming in at week end so was disappointing, no facility was made for residents.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing property just at lake Victoria.
Cons: It is veeery big and it’s hard to know where everything is. I think the staff can do a better introduction of the hotel so you know what you can do while you are there. Although staff was super nice
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view on Lake Victoria ! And resort in a great green surrounding
6.0 Good
Pros: Quiet and peaceful
Cons: Upon check-in, a deposit of 100 USD was requested. Although they already had all the card details since the booking. Very insulting. The room was very small in relation to the price.
7.5 Good
Pros: I have stayed at Speke a few times over the last months. Location I s perfect, staff are very friendly and we'll trained, the facilities are good although a bit dated. Rooms are clean. Bathrooms might need a makeover, noisy exhaust fans, faucets etc sometimes falling off.
Cons: This time round I was given a room facing a construction site. So there was plenty of noise and dust. Also, I guess given the season, there were huge clouds of swarming fies and other insects. When I walked back from breakfast I virtually stepped over a carpet of dead insects in the corridor. Dinner on the terrace was a struggle with large flying worms landing on food and in glasses. Some additional fumigation might be useful.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is beautiful! The food and service were without reproach.
Cons: The additional service provided by the business centre, such as printing, were extremely expensive! Since were there for a conference one would expect those to be included in the conference package.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Restricting drinks from outside

5.0 Okay
Pros: I loved the location and facilities available. Kabira is close to most of the main places and has a very nice and well equipped gym and a very relaxing outdoor pool. The staff were also very nice and helpful and didn't waste too much time in giving the room.
Cons: The rooms were not as clean as you would've expected and the bathroom ceiling was leaking. The toilet was unsanitary and dirty and the floor was dirty. The bedsheets had stains on them and the AC was really old. Kabira is forgetting to upgrade their rooms according to todays standards and still has the same old equipment and isn't investing in renovation. Skyz is a new hotel that charges the same price as Kabira, whereas they provide better and cleaner rooms.
6.3 Good
Pros: Best gym possible and quiet location.
Cons: The rooms are a bit outdated with terrible showers. No value.
8.0 Excellent

Cons: No extra pillow, face washer, the kinds of things you might expect at the hotel's price point. Room was clean, but not exceptionally so and it took a very long time to get hot water. Breakfast leaves much to be desired.

Cons: Quite pricey for area but worth it.
Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa - Kampala - Building

9.2 Excellent (1,521 reviews)
₹ 20,496+
Overview Reviews
The Resort is styled to replicate the lines of a classically rustic Roman Villa which might just as easily standamid the sunflowers of the Tuscan Hills, as on the shores of Africas largest lake. This resort will offer both a contrast and an extension to the 5-star profile of the flagship Kampala Serena Hotel, thus ensuring that the Serena Portfolio embraces all the aspects of Ugandas social and cooperate life. Future developments on the property include a golf-course, marina and luxury residential complex.Rising on gentle slopes above the marina with long views across the lush greens to Lake Victoria beyond, the hotel itself has been styled to echo an Italian palace with its campanile, glittering mosaics, rustically arched pool terrace and shaded colonnades. Set within the grounds, amid water cascades and fountains, is a Roman coliseum, which offers the ultimate wedding or event arena. And, widely spaced amongst the shaded pathways of the gardens, clusters of pastel-painted villas house the rooms, all of which enjoy panoramic views across the Marina to the hazy expanses of Africas second largest lake.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Bed was too comfy and the pillows too
Cons: A bit pricey
8.8 Excellent
Cons: My son is taking photography in UK and he wasn't allowed to take photos on the premises, at the marina and hotel, even the pool. Abit sad about that
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was great! Unfortunately, the very good ginger spiced tea (African tea) served in smart tea-pote was disapointedly cold. This is naturally, the distance from the kitchen to any of the rooms, in the cold and occasionally windy environment of the hotel. Tea destined to rooms should always be served in Thermos Flasks to retain its taste and temprature.
Cons: Tea could have been served in thermos flask.
7.1 Good
Pros: Peaceful & relaxing .
Cons: Poor network & Tv signal .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel View, buffet and walk within the hotel property
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The friendly service
Cons: Pillows were not very soft

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved it as usual! Brought my kids along this time and it went well! Staff all go above and beyond to help with any needs. Would probably want adjoined rooms next time as it’s difficult keeping two kids on sleep schedules in the same room.
Cons: Upset with the bathroom as it was small, had no vanity or room to put bathroom essentials or to hang towels. But staff was very nice and brought me a side table to put my essentials on. Asian restaurant has great food but they definitely need to pay attention to the levels of spice ordered. Most times I couldn’t feed my kids bc it was spicier then I ordered.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The chef did the eggs perfectly and timely
Cons: No juice.... I had a terrible stomachache in the mrng so preferred water and hot tea unfortunately tea wasn't hot,no water so we had to buy since juice too wasn't available.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff Good food at the restaurant Clean Great laundry service The rooms were very cute Mosquito nets over the bed In room safe
Cons: Water pressure in the shower was very poor but it did the job, could have just been my room or the time of the day I was showering? Wouldn’t stop me from staying there again tho .
5.4 Okay
Pros: The only good thing are the friendly staff at the reception, the pool was nice and the beds were ok. Also there was instant coffee.
Cons: The property is pretty run down, the rooms dark, small and gloomy. Also it’s incredibly noisy. With all the traffic outside of the hotel sleeping past 6-7am is not possible. When I was there there was also construction going on and one morning first trucks came by at 5am with lots of shouting and commotion outside my window. Also diesel exhaust fumes lingered in my room. Not a chance of going back to sleep. There is a steep hill and the old trucks struggled to get up the hill, blasting fumes everywhere. The breakfast was pretty sad looking and just not appetizing the way the food was presented. There is a chef making eggs at the buffet but when you ask him he pointed i should help myself from the container where omlettes had been piled. They tasted stale and dry. Cleaning staff came into my room without knocking which was embarrassing given that I just heaved myself into my jeans. The wifi is flaky. Definitely not stable enough to get work done. Whilst I was there there was only cold water from the shower and the pressure is very low pressure. Took me three times longer than usual to wash my hair. I understand this is not a luxury hotel and you get what you pay for but for USD55 there are better options available.

Pros: The breakfast was quite average and lacked variety. They could perhaps add daily variety OR keep changing the breakfast menu daily to make it interesting.
Cons: There was cold shower for the first two days! TWO DAYS meaning four showers, twice per day. The hotel lied they were fixing it on day one and it only took us to threaten we would leave on day two that the hotel managed to fix the problem.
