Pros: The room in itself was pretty standard for the price range (= fully equipped with everything you need, but quite small), but what sets this hotel apart is the breakfast buffet which comes with many delicious local dishes (especially the unagi gohan - rice with eel - was great) and the location, within walking distance from the castle, main train station and entertainment district.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: - Great staff and service. - Best location in the city: it's the city's only tall building, connected to the station as well as a number of restaurants and some shops (including convenience stores). Also connected to the Museum of Musical Instruments, and a ~20 min walk to the (reconstructed) Hamamatsu Castle (and adjoining park). - Amazing breakfast: great gyōza, some of the best hash browns I've ever had (and I've been to the US a lot), lots of options. - Comfortable room, incredible view from the 38th floor.
Cons: - WiFi was REALLY laggy, annoying to browse sites and made voice calls impractical. Noticed it to some extent even on the lobby. - Bath/Gym/etc were under maintenance during the week of my stay, this should ideally have been communicated back when I booked. - Rooftop observatory sees only North and South, otherwise you could potentially have some cool view of Mt Fuji and Lake Hamana.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Price is higher

7.0 Good
Pros: great
Cons: did not accept master card - had to draw cash
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Reception welcomed us and escorted us to the room. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Close to an amusement park which was fun. Waking distance to town for ship and restaurants. Lobby has a shop for all needs and a 7-11 was in close proximity as well.
Cons: Keys have a large keyring which makes it difficult to carry with you.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: nice location, modern hotel, and have an open bar (soda & coffee) on the ground floor for free
4.6 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: I had booked one room for two adults and one kid. But the bed was single bed. I asked for double bed room but response from front desk staff was bit rude. I felt like he was all negative.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: clean room
Cons: The bed is too small for three person: parents + one child less than one year old. It seems that advertisement of the room in booking.com is incorrect in the reality. One staff shows impolite behavior via the telephone while talking to my wife for the cleaning room issue. We did not feel good once staying at this hotel.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was compact but well arranged, with cabinets for everything – it felt like a nice ship cabin in that respect. Features included a mini fridge, DVD player, a big TV, microwave, water dispenser and plugs everywhere. There was even an automatic light panel by the bed and a Jacuzzi tub, plus tons of shampoo and random beauty samples both in the lobby and in the room.
Cons: Our room wasn’t the easiest to sleep in. Besides a very firm mattress, the wind was rattling the AC unit in our room in a random manner (this may be something unique to the top floor?). The room was rather bright too.
6.0 Good
Pros: The average japanese business hotel, location is quite convenient if you want something close to the main JR Shinkansen station.
Cons: Can't set the temperature of the room, it was really hot in this small room. The concept of the hotel is a bit surprising open during the day, late admission, special price for "short stays" but also recommended for families.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: free pay TV and the organic useable body / shower soap in the lobby, you can pick up to your room

8.8 Excellent

Pros: View and location
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely traditional Japanese hotel. Staff amazing despite the language barrier. Rooms very traditional - don't expect a bed the futons are a little thin, but we had enough mattresses to make it comfortable. Traditional Japanese breakfast only which was fine for me but so much if you can't cope with not having something western!
Cons: We went in off season, so without a car we would have been stuck. Only a couple of places locally to eat, that said we had the car so went to the main town 30 minutes away.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff are very friendly and helpful despite the language barrier. They attend to the needs of young children which makes this a very family friendly hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location , staff , breakfast
Cons: Nothing

7.9 Good
Pros: Quiet & serene location with a taste & feeling of staying in old traditional Japanese houses. A cheerful & helpful owner! Plenty of eating places serving unagi within minutes of walking.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hospitality and info provided. Nice ryokan experiences.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice clean place for overnight stay. Service is excellent
Cons: No facility like in house restaurant and public bath is small
5.0 Okay
Pros: 1. Nice area for relaxation. There's spa, onsen, fishing activity, ferry, cable car, zoo, for families and kids- overall area of this location.
Cons: 1. Far, it takes around one hour on bus no.30 to reach to the place, and needing to pay 620 yen each way, which is steep (a return for two person would already cost 2480 yen). Price and time wise, it's better to stay near the train station which totaled up would cost similar, minus the travelling time. 2. the unit is rather run down, similar to other units. I mean the location has great potentials, but lack refurbishment aspect of it- it looks old. 3. The unit itself is run down, in another word, it maintains how it looks like since in the past, but it also means the ceramic tile walls are old, the bathroom door is very old, and the main door which is rather difficult to lock. 4. In need of refurbishment.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The owner of this ryokan was possibly the most helpful, cheerful, lovely man ever.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: None
Cons: Very far from bus stop Property is not allow to smoke but smoke so smelly from the entrance Old room and facilities. Price not resonable

Another side of ryokan opposite with another lake beach (walk in 5 mins). + Have a free parking. + Owner is very and very nice guy , I totally recommend you all to rest here. Owner can speak English and lovely communication with us. We will miss him.
Cons: + Have no elevator , if you all have big luggage. + May inside hotel still allow guest smoke inside the guest room , we smell a little bit during walking inside hotel , but on our room after close the bedroom door , don’t get smoke smell.
