Good 7.0
Pros: Reception area was great
Cons: Room is small and one side of double bed against the wall so you both have to get out the same side.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazing, large room. Great amenities and the onsen experience was fantastic!!
Good 6.7
Pros: The staff were very friendly and the spa was good. The breakfast was also of a very good standard.
Cons: The room was much smaller than I expected for the price we paid. I understand that the rates were significantly higher than normal due to the RWC game at Ecopa Stadium. Extra fee was also required for parking.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The room was spacious than I expected and very clean.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The onsen and the breakfast.
Cons: It was expensive. The room was small.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hotel’s public bath was fantastic.
Cons: The pillows are uncomfortably hard
Excellent 9.0
Cons: It would be very helpful if the staff could speak English
Excellent 10.0
Pros: It’s walking distance to the station and local restaurants. There’s an amazing hot bath on the roof that gives you a gorgeous view of the city and the castle at night. There’s free laundry washing, you only pay for drying. They allow you to lock your laundry if you’d like. They have what I call the “Onsen milk” in a vending machine outside the hot baths. There’s also a nice little lounge you can wait for your laundry in with manga and a TV. Very large rooms for Japan with all the amenities you need. On the first floor there’s a business lounge with computers and a printer if you need that. Everything was very clean. Great staff. The breakfast bar was delicious. They also give you a late night ramen snack for free.
Cons: Nothing bad to say. If I could make a suggestion though, I think the only thing this place needs are maybe bicycles for rent. Since it’s a nice small town it’d be great to borrow a bike to get around the city. Otherwise, amazing place and would highly recommend!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Wonderful view over Kakegawa including the castle, large room even with a fridge, wonderful spa, microwaves, washing machines and dryers available. Late night ramen for guests staying more than 1 night. The spa (onsen) is also great for people who have not been in an onsen before.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Great room and Onsen in the property. Free ramen at night. Very good Japanese breakfast buffet. Went out of their way to look after us during the Typhoon.
Cons: Nothing

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location, walking distance to railway station and castle. Plenty bars and restaurants to the east although many not open for lunch. Friendly staff. Room compact but perfect for 1.
Cons: Breakfast was pretty poor. The 3pm check in is obeyed resolutely as it is across Japan. They are happy to keep bags though.
Okay 5.8
Pros: Close to the the station
Cons: Very expensive for what was offered.
Good 7.5
Pros: Very clean.
Cons: Room & bathroom were very small.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Very good and friendly staff, comfortable room and an excellent breakfast provided.
Cons: Not much to do in this area, stayed here for access to the World Cup, a tad far from the train station too.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Only a one night stay for the rugby at Ecopa. Very clean and comfortable, larger room than most for Japan. 15 minute taxi from Kakegawa station.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Amazing location overlooking the main river and within eyeshot of the destroyed Hiroshima observatory and Peace Park. Very nice helpful staff who had no problem with me staying in the lobby long after check-out to do some work. Also, they’ve got a couple of nice looking restaurants on the 15th floor from which the views are magnificent... though I didn’t try the food.

Excellent 8.3
Pros: Resort is an amazing undermanaged asset that could have a lot more foreign visitors if it let people know it was so near a Shinkansen stop. Lots of space in real country side and facilities looked amazing.
Cons: Lots more English information needed and if there are 971 rooms some choice of restaurant would be appreciated. This could be a Japanese version of Center Parcs with a bit of investment.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: A big hotel with sprawling grounds and all kinds of sports and conference facilities. Slightly tired. But big, comfortable rooms. Breakfast was poor! They charged for parking and for early check in even when rooms are ready! Suited our need for a one night stop when following rugby.
Excellent 9.6
Cons: Some of the facilities were a bit old and not that well kept. There are some areas and facilities that need a serious update.
Good 6.7
Pros: The views.
Cons: It had a very tired feeling to it.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: It’s like something out of the 80’s, but would be great for a family with kids. Good service with shuttle bus back into town and there are heaps of facilities to keep the family entertained
Cons: It’s a fair way out of town if you’re wanting to be near the station. Very strict on the 3pm check in, when there wasn’t much else you could do on a rainy day and the rooms were clearly ready.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: great location and good facilities although the accommodation is a little tired. It could do with a little refresh. Food very good and buffet excellent. Would definitely recommend
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The place is huge. They have big rooms. The hotel has some updates recently. It’s a very nice place. Nice place for a getaway. The food was also very good.
Cons: The staff added $100 to the bill after we booked it online. They didn’t give any reason for that. Even though we posted that we had 5 people. They changed the price on us. So be careful booking if you have more than one or two.
Good 7.0
Cons: It was Rugby World Cup and no tv to watch the rugby!
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The resort itself was very spacious and comfortable. The added use of the spa was wonderful and the in house bath an added value. The breakfast and dinners were excellent and at all times the staff were attentive and welling to help non speaking Japanese guests. The bus shuttle to and from the main train station was also a great service every 30 minutes. Overall the resort was value for money for a short stay.
Cons: The resort in its glory days would have been an amazing facility, but it seemed to be a victim of its own passing of time and not keeping up with repairs and renovations. The facility has a late 80's feel and needs some rejuvenation put into the whole place to bring it up to a great standard again. Most of the advertised sporting activities were not available and the water park closed. Pool area needs renovating and the grounds overall needs some TLC. During the world cup celebrations is was very disappointing that the resort did not have one of its bars or ball rooms utilised to televise matches, this was possibly a revenue stream missed by management.

Okay 5.8
Pros: Nothing really
Cons: The hotel is very old and run down. Beds were very uncomfortable and the first staff member to greet us upon arrival smelt like cigarette it was very unpleasant. The entire hotel smelt of cigarette.
Good 6.7
Pros: They provide happy hour free drinking time in the afternoon which is very sweet. The location is great near the station.
Cons: Checking time delayed on the day we arrived, and the front desk staff couldn't understand English. The room is way to small.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We had to find accomodation in Kakegawa during the recent typhoon Hagibis. These guys had some ‘deluxe single’ rooms on offer and they were big enough to accomodate a family of three each! Good breakfast; jr station just meters away. Best option to spend time if you’re stuck in Kakegawa because of a typhoon! Staff speaks no english at all; though they’re helpful
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Value for money
Cons: Good service and accommodations
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Basic Japanese hotel with small rooms. Clean facilities. We stayed on the top floor and had beautiful views or the Kakegawa castle. Within walking distance from the castle itself and the main shopping/food district. Definitely worth staying here if visiting Kakegawa.
Cons: Small rooms but that can't be helped.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room is very nice

Good 7.0
Pros: Comfy bed
Cons: The long mirror infront of our bed
Good 6.7
Pros: Relatively quiet.
Cons: The smell of the room when first entering
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent location. Very good facilities, including a coin-laundry. Good breakfast. Excellent value for money.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Very good place for the price and on top of it you get a breakfast as well. The double bed is a bit smaller than usually but for the sleepover in vicinity of station is enough.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: At check-in, we were asked if we preferred an American breakfast or Japanese. I felt this was a nice touch and symbolic of the level they are willing to go to meet your needs. Wanting a new experience, we requested the Japanese breakfast and were rewarded with grilled salmon for breakfast!
Cons: We had no problems during our stay and enjoyed our visit.
Excellent 9.4
Pros: Good quality-price relation, excellent location and very good breakfast (you can choose between japanese style and american style). Also the room is equipped with all basic stuff such as hair dryer, razor blades, toothbrush, towels and comb.
Cons: The bed is a bit narrow for 2 people.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Very nice and helpul staff let us check in at arrival at ca. 13.00h before the official check in time.
Cons: The "western breakfast" had several options which were not explained before...therefore we did not get butter and jam as other guests, but a somewhat "japanesed" version of the "western breakfast". ( But it was ok anyway.)

Excellent 10.0
Pros: everything!
Cons: nothing!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Loved the style of room and the view!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Hotel is directly across the street from Kakegawa Station and also has a large parking lot for those who drive (no cost). The exterior and lobby have a Balinese design, rooms are clean and spacious. We requested extra pillows and the hotel had different types to choose from. One member of the staff spoke English and was very helpful. Really lovely castle compound & museums a short walk from the other side of the station.
Cons: Didn't eat at the hotel - menus were not on display and we didn't ask to see them. Nothing negative about the hotel, but Kakegawa is a very quiet place with few restaurants nearby (almost all were smoky izakaya).
Excellent 9.6
Pros: It was very clean the staff were incredibly helpful and spoke good English, as well as being very helpful. The rooms were big and clean and the overall appearance of the hotel was clean and suitable of the 4* rating
Cons: It was very good.
