Gatlinburg hotels near Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies

Cons: Property is worn out and looks decades old in style. Just a very outdated atmosphere. Room did not get cleaned one day. Maid went in took his/her tip, barely took the trash out, and left everything as she/he found it.

Cons: The staff could be better

Cons: We stayed for a week, most people/families don't, which means that there are a lot of rooms to turn over every day. House keeping has more than they can handle, and on two occasions our room was not cleaned until 5:00 P.M. Check in appears to take a while (that wasn't the case for us), not sure why.

Cons: We were told we would have two queen sized beds and received two full size beds. For paying as much as we did, not a very nice room at all.

Cons: Ate dinner downstairs at the onsite dining area. Didn't care for the Greek Chicken w/Couscous. Very dry

Cons: Gym was closed; crowded lobby and slow service from the front desk. The fridge in the room was not very clean.

Cons: The pool had way too much chlorine all the kids were coughing and their eyes were burning but the area was very clean.

Cons: The coffee. Fresh brewed in lobby would have been nice. Furnishings were scuffed badly.

Cons: Not enough parking on site when full.

Cons: The pool area could have been cleaner. We did not swim, but would have if we were staying longer. I am not sure if it was in construction being this time of the year, but the fountain (??) area was not working and just looked sort of drab.

Cons: Room was not completely clean prior to checkin. The manager had to come and clean up after the maids.

Cons: All rooms are accessed from the outside (no internal hallways). You don't have to go into the lobby to gain access to the stairs up to the room. The pool was warm however, it was over chlorinated like most hotel pools. Bathroom was very small and I could tell the place was slowly being updated. I think that the price for this hotel was a lot more than it should have been. This hotel would fit most people's needs its not the best nor the worst.

Cons: When walking into the room for the first time it was damp. We turned the fan in the bathroom on and opened the balcony door for a bit to let it air out. It never really seemed to 'dry out' in the room. That's okay, there was so much to do in and around town, we mostly slept there. You can hear traffic from parkway in the room.

Cons: Well I thought everything was great so I dont know what could have been better. Loved it. Pool was warm.

Cons: Balconies could use some privacy feature. You feel like you’re on top of your neighbor. The room had several dead bugs on walls towards the ceilings.

Cons: No coffee in lobby

Cons: We arrived late at night, after 2am, and there was no one at the check in counter, only a sign saying "be back soon". After sitting in the lobby for more than half an hour whole the security guard stated at me and at his phone, a desk clerk finally arrived to check us in. Parking was limited, but they were accommodating by basically not enforcing any parking rules as long as we were not blocking someone in. They put us in a handicap room, which wasn't a problem in itself, but the bathroom door slides open and shut for ease of access and unfortunately it wasn't well oiled so we weren't able to ever fully open or close the door. I did report the problem, but don't know if it was ever fixed as we were only there 2 nights.

Cons: Beds are very uncomfortable. Our room balcony was in the pool area and it was at least a 100°+ when you walked up to go to our room. I just believe you should know that. And the pictures looked a whole lot nicer to me.

Cons: The second you walk in the room, we opted for the poolside option as we were planning to spend time in the pool with our two small children, all you could smell was chlorine, not to mention the room was about 87 degrees when we first walked in. While looking around our room, we found lots of great treasures, old Broken Oreos in the carpet (carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in about a month) , the bathroom was disgusting you had to hover above the toilet, the shower curtain had something streaked down it, looked like makeup maybe?? Who knows. There was brown matter streaked on the wall I could take a guess on what it was. It looked like feces. The tv kept cutting in and out with sound and picture so that was a no go when my 3 year old asked to watch cartoons before bed. We decided to check out the beds to see what they were like since the rest of the room was absolutely disgusting. On one of the blankets there was red lipstick. And on the sheets there were big black hair. In more spot than one. So I'm guessing the sheets hadn't even been changed? Needless to say we grabbed our bags and our two small children and got the heck out of there, we didn't even stay the night. Then the whole trip was spent attempting to get our refund back as we ended up having to spend money on a different hotel for our trip. And then they tried to tell us that we had to pay for the first night even though we didn't stay. We will not be back. Waste of money and time out of our trip.

Cons: There were a few things broken in the room, the walls are thin, and the pool shouldn't close so early or should have an adults only time. The children spoil the trips

Cons: It is no fault to the people that work there, but the building itself is in need of some TLC. You can tell that is what they are working on, but I couldn't help but notice

Cons: Pool area needs upgrade and was glad to see its in the plans for the coming year There were no towel racks in the bathroom and the water never got hot.

Cons: The fold out bed was very uncomfortable. There was no workout room.

Cons: TV did not work at all. Breakfast is just cold cereal and toast. Staff was rude and unwilling to accommodate. I would not stay here again.

Cons: The wall are thin. We could hear (and feel!) the couple next door to us fighting. Doors were slamming, she was screaming and he was throwing things! It felt and sounded like they were in the room with us.

Cons: We got to the hotel around 1:00 Friday afternoon to check in. When we walked in the lady at the counter was on her cell phone, on a personal call, she did not end the call to help us, instead she continued her conversation and helped us after she finished her call. In my opinion that was rude. Then while we were checking in someone called the front desk and requested help with their shower, she told a gentleman to go help them "because they couldn't figure out how to work the shower." Her attitude about that situation was wrong and she should not have spoken so rudely about someone who is paying money to stay at your hotel, especially in front of other guests (being myself).

Cons: The bathroom needed some detail attention.

Cons: It could have been cleaner. The pull out bed had crumbs all over it, and the carpet wasn't very clean. What little time we were in our room, the bottom of my kids feet were turning black from the dirty carpet. Also the walls are like paper so you hear EVERYTHING.

Cons: The room was nice and comfortable but small.

Cons: The last 2 mornings of our stay they were doing some remodeling 2 doors down from our room at 8:15 in the morning. Im talking pounding, hammering, sawing, buzzing and tile break at 8:15 in the morning. I asked the woman at the front desk and she insisted they werent remodeling near my room. The towels suck. Mold above the shower

Cons: The elevator was strangely stinky I’m not really sure why & our room was a little dirty like dirty bathroom mirror & finding hairs on the bed but I mean I’m not that picky or grossed out (your in a public cheap hotel)

Cons: Room left a lot to be desired. The bathroom floor was sticky. Refrigerator smelled horrible. The mattress was worn out. Probably dips 6" in the center with nobody on it. Toilet flushed on its own every 30 to 40 minutes. The place could use a lot of proper maintaining and repair.

Cons: Thin walls. Holes in wall where headboards were previously attached. Minor water damage on ceiling in bathroom.

Cons: The room smelled, was tiny, had ants, shoddy repairs, mold on the bathroom ceiling, loose fixtures. I could keep going. We left a night early and ate the final night's cost.

Cons: Waking up with bugs in the bed.

Cons: Beds were horrible and uncomfortable. Old building and mold in the bathroom. I would not stay in this location again and will tell everyone Do Not Stay at this hotel, it is not a good reflection of your brand for Value and Quality. This property should have their franchise pulled until they can meet the higher standards of cleanliness and upgrade the facility. Paint alone does not account for upgrade
