10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the hand wash!!! Not only because it smelled nice, but also because it was the FIRST time that we came across a hotel that provided bottled liquid hand wash instead of those soap bars, keeping the vanity top extremely neat and tidy
Cons: Its a "tradition" for our family to dine at the hotel during our stay on all our family holiday trips to complete the whole experience. Especially on the last day of the trip just so end it with a good meal but the cafe opened at only 8am and we had to leave for our flight by 730am so we were a little disappointed. There were limited TV channels and the resolutions of the TV was not clear. So we could only "listen" to the TV program

Cons: A little dated but that was fine
9.7 Excellent
Cons: I had been staying at a luxury double bed room over 5 times and it was to my surprise that the room I booked is such a tiny room eventhough I had added Yen2600 to exchange to a bigger room. At the end I have to pay extra Yen8000 to upgrade to the room type I stayed before which is something I did not expect. I once paid HK$780 (approx) for the luxury double bed but for the current stay, I paid double!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: We have an enjoyable time in Fukuoka even though it was just for a night the hotel truly met up to our expectations. The room had everything you needed . The shower gel and shampoo had a fragrant smell and the shower was strong. Had a relaxing shower after a long day. The bed was ok but the pillows were too flat however we survived. It’s super convenient and very near to the airport. The front desk clerk was kind enough to arrange taxi upon our requested time to get to the airport. Their English were good and super friendly. After a long day of shopping we returned to the hotel in time for free ramen after 9:30 pm. It was so tasty
Cons: Cannot think of anything.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel staffs are very helpful and most of them are able to speak English well. It is an advantage for hotel guests to ride in a free hotel shuttle bus from hotel to Hakata train station in the morning. Room where we stayed is not quite small with a queen bed, it is also quiet, we heard no noise from outside. Thanks for a free delicious soba provided in late evening for all hotel guests. Other than that, onsen facilities are clean ,tidy and equipped with all we needed. We will certainly go back to Fukuoka and will book to stay at this hotel again in early 2020.
Cons: Breakfast buffet is same everyday when we stayed for 4 days. My only suggestion is to change it a little bit every day.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Onsen and Ramen services
Cons: Cannot select the 2 beds from booking At front 2 beds (twin) room is available but need to pay extra charge?????
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is super: just beside Canal City Hakata. The room is small but clean and nice and good for using a spa freely. Also the service of offering noodle soup was good. Staffs are kind.
Cons: I didn't know it when I booked the room, but cleaning the room was the option and I had to pay for that additionally. I didn't ask it, but it was good that everyday new towels and water are offered.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is next to Canal City shopping mall which is very convenient to find everything you need. It is a walking distance to lots of sightseeing landmardks of Fukuoka. The hotel has late night free noodle for guests and onsen to relax.
Cons: None.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Parking costs 1800 yen a day but it was convenient and staff was helpful. The onsen has two parts-indoors and outdoors, and the female onsen was secured with passwords that change every day. Staff speak English.
Cons: The hotel needs to remind customers with kids to be more considerate. When I was using the onsen some kid brought toys into the water, sprayed water everywhere and created a lot of noise and nuisance to other users. It was very annoying and totally ruined the peace and quiet of the onsen experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and a friendly staff. Really nice amenities. I was impressed they had a high quality hair dryer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, free parking and clean environment

Pros: Breakfast options were a tad limited but the quality was good. It was quite costly but it was a Friday night. I also didn't realise that the checkout was 10am (as that's early for a hotel of this quality!) but they let me accidentally overstay for an hour without charge.

The Hakata JR train station, airport bus station and subway are within 5 minutes walking distance. Airport bus takes less than 20 minutes to and from airport and hotel is 5 minutes walk from Hakata airport bus station. Our room is comfortable with excellent shower. Song at the Reception was very helpful in giving us directions for different attractions in Fukuoka.
Cons: We had breakfasts only first morning at the Hotel as we were disappointed at the variety of the breakfast items. Bottle drinking water (2) were only provided upon arrival with no further replenishment for our stay (3 nights). We were informed that tap water in the room is drinkable and from 3pm onwards, tea, coffee and water are available from the restaurant on the ground floor.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room is big and clean...very nice bathroom, really good breakfast and it is organic style. It is really healthy food. We love it :).
Cons: When we need extra advices or help, some staff seem not really care to service...but she just provided the answer which was not really helping the guest at all. This, we would be hesitate to stay here again next time soon.

Pros: The reservation desk staff were very gracious to allow early check in without additional charges. I also enjoy the breakfast variety and the efforts to change a couple of dishes each day. There is a 7-Eleven store right beside the Hotel. The location is also a short 5 min walk from Hakata Station East Exit. However, there is no shelter should it rain.

Pros: Great location. It's just in the city centre and close to shopping malls and railway stations and car rental companies. The male staff helped us to bring the luggage to our room. Room is big, compared to other hotels in Fukuoka.
Cons: The air conditioner is out of control. We set it to 23 degree in the room but it ran to 29!!!! It's so hot that I have to set the air conditioner to "cold" mode in the midnight. But the wind became too cold, which made me catch cold finally. I can't sleep well that night.

Rooms & beds are extremely big so even I only got a twin “single” beds room, it can accommodate all 4 of us very well for sleep and luggage space and even bathing together! Breakfast club lounge gives a very nice view of Japanese garden, and serve a wide range of food which were delicious. Overall we loved the hotel very much.

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to canal city it is a good place to stay to visit hakata by foot.
Cons: Lack of choices for breakfast
7.9 Good
Pros: Very good location for eating and shopping, friendly staffs
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: At least the bed sheets were clean.
Cons: HOTEL DOESN'T TURN ON IT AIR CON IF WEATHER IS 20 DEGREES & BELOW. They did not put a disclaimer that the centralized air conditioning will only be opened if the weather becomes hot (for their own standard). So we had to open the windows and at night till early in the morning we could hear the people laughing and talking, the trucks, etc. It was spring but on the first night, I had several mosquito bites because of the open windows. THE NON-SMOKING ROOM SMELLED OF CIGARETTE SMOKE FOR DAYS. We got a non-smoking floor (5th floor) but one of the rooms we got smelled of cigarette and we had to request the staff to clean the room again but it still smelled cigarette after they cleaned it. I had to re-check the room if it was a non-smoking room. AREA IS NEAR BARS I would not recommend the place if you have kids. The area is near bars and clubs. My son even noticed it. VERY LIMITED STAFF. The hotel is actually a budget hotel. They have very limited staff. The front desk person is the one who will double the house keeping staff if you need something or if something needs to be checked in the room. NOT ENGLISH FRIENDLY HOTEL. I do not think I read a disclaimer that the staff cannot speak english very well so it is a bit annoying if I ask help or need anything, I need to go to front dest to use google translate. WHEELCHAIR IS AVAILABLE BUT FOR USE INSIDE THE HOTEL ONLY. One of the reasons I chose this hotel is because of the available wheelchair. But they did not put that the wheelchair can only be used INSIDE the hotel. I have been to other hotels in Japan and they allow guests to use the wheelchair outside the hotel property. CARPET FLOOR AND BATHROOM ROOM FLOOR NEEDS MAJOR CLEANING. The hotel needs to do through cleaning of carpet because my sister and I started sneezing every time we are inside the hotel. But we noticed once we are outside the hotel, the sneezing would stop. The toilet floor should be scrubbed with soap because it smelled of urine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location! Made our Fukuoka trip extra special. Will definitely book again with Hakata Excel
9.2 Excellent
Cons: lost my belongings T_T
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is good, so many restaurants around the area and it is in the middle of the city.Walking distance to Canal City Mall, Fukuoka Night Market and Tenjin area. Breakfast buffet was good, variety of Japanese and Western cuisine.
Cons: The bathroom was dirty, they didn’t clean it good enough.
5.1 Okay
Pros: The hotel is very centrally located to shopping, restaurants and bars as well as the subway line and buses. The staff were friendly enough and the breakfast is good.
Cons: I arrived with an early morning flight after flying all night and arrived at the hotel by 10am. I was advised that official check in wasn't until 2pm and I would have to wait until this time. I found this somewhat strange considering most North American hotels will allow you to check in if they have a room ready. Even if they didn't immediately have a room ready, they usually make an effort to get you into a room as soon as one is cleaned and ready. I sat patiently in the lobby for the next two hours and then made another attempt at noon to see if any rooms had been cleaned and were ready to be moved into. The front desk's English was very poor so it was difficult to communicate but they again told me that check in wasn't until 2pm. I tried to reason with them that surely some of the rooms must have been cleaned by this point and but was told again that check in would only take place at 2pm. I was told that if I wanted to check in earlier, I would need to pay 3500 Yen for the "overtime". I couldn't quite understand what overtime would be involved since they had to clean my room regardless -- it was just a case of what order they were going to clean it compared to other rooms. I refused to pay this fee and returned to sit on the sofa in the lobby for another two hours. Finally at 2pm I was permitted to check in. I got up to my room only to discover that it was a smoking room (yes, there is still such a thing!). I called down to the desk and explained that I had been assigned a smoking room but wasn't a smoker (interestingly, the kayak site that I booked the hotel on didn't ask for a smoking preference). I was told that there were no non-smoking rooms available (despite me presumably being the first person to check in today!) and that they would send someone up to get rid of the smoke smell. Unfortunately we know how that goes... they attempted to get the smoke smell out but it didn't make much difference. Even thought I was only there for one night, my clothes and luggage still came away smelling like smoke. Hardly an enjoyable experience for the price paid!
6.3 Good
Pros: The best thing about the hotel is the location. Our rooms had a nice view of the river and there are many shops and restaurants close by.
Cons: The rooms here are small and I would recommend this hotel only for single travelers. We booked two rooms, one with 1 bed and the other with 2, and they are the same size, so there's almost no room for getting around if there are 2 beds in the room. The hotel also has the common Japanese "cubicle" bathroom, so they're tiny.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: The bathroom smell a bit like urine. I read this in a previous comment, and found out that it’s true with my room. It look clean though.
7.5 Good
Pros: Locat
Cons: No
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was fab! We really enjoyed the area and will most likely return.
Cons: There was a weird lump under the carpet.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Dated facilities and a bit old.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was great for the price.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The place was clean! They also provide you with the basic needs. Not so near the station but manageable. It is near the river and is just a few walk away from Canal City and the Yatai Lane. There are convenience stores nearby as well.
Cons: Although we booked for a smoking room, we didn’t expect for the room to smell like cigar when we arrive. Also, I woke up to the smell of the same even if no one smoked in our room during our whole stay. We just thought of booking one for convenience since my partner smokes in case he needs to do so. Moreover, the place is quite small. If we open our luggages, there will be no more space for the other to walk around the room.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The room is old and small, some are wet and the facilities are simple
7.9 Good
Cons: The smell in the hall way.
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: Very noisy - passing cars on the street, drunk people being very loud during night. Do not recommend staying here!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice sort of spacious bathroom (for a Japanese business hotel).
Cons: Climate control was a bit off for us. Either too hot or too cold. But we were quite jet lagged still and had too much coffee, which may have made it difficult to fall asleep.
3.3 Mediocre
