9.6 Excellent
Pros: Standard french breakfast, we missed vegetables.
Cons: Separate blanket would fit us better. Deposit from credit card should be cancelled much faster. At checkout it was told it will be cancelled on the same night, but I am still waiting for it after 2 working days.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room/beds. Friendly Staff. Good Breakfast with Freshly squeezed OJ. Convenient location near town and central station, a cheap 6min trip from TGV station. Clean and in mostly in good condition.
Cons: We had our two kids with us and we could have used some more storage in our room. Difficult to dry swimming stuff nowhere to hang it. Could do with a few more Healthy options at breakfast. The kids found all the sweet sugary stuff a bit irresistible
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had trouble getting a taxi to the station as it was peak hour. Tony on reception drove us there in his little car piling 3 of us and suitcases in. It was hilarious and he was just delightful. He went above and beyond and is a great asset to the hotel.
Cons: We were happy with the hotel
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Walking distance from the train station. Provides access to walled city and nearby bus station.
Cons: Some noise from train station. AC not working because too early in the season - had to keep the window open.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location, secure underground parking
Cons: Restaurant and bar closed Sunday night. Reception suggestion of good restaurant was useless as it was also closed. Very few restaurants close by. Breakfast only average, hot food was not hot.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed, new and clean room
Cons: Small room. First room we were given had broken air-conditioner but was changed without problem.
Mercure Pont D'avignon Centre - Avignon - Building
2
8.1 Excellent (2,151 reviews)
₹ 8,589+
Overview Reviews
Located between the Pont d'Avignon and Palais des Papes, this Mercure hotel benefits from an excellent location right in the city center. A stone's throw from the convention center and the central train station, the establishment has quiet and modern room s that exude a sense of well-being. After a day of work or sightseeing, relax in the hotel's small garden or enjoy a drink in the lounge bar.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location close to the cathedral and adjacent car park
7.9 Good
Pros: The breakfast was lovely and the breakfast room was really nice - like being in an outside garden. I had a little food spill and the staff were very kind and helpful about it. The reception staff member was very friendly and outgoing when we arrived. The housekeeping staff were very cordial in the hallways. The location was really perfect.
Cons: The price was a little high - in my opinion - compared to similar places in France - however, Avignon lodging seems to be a little higher than some of the other places we have visited all over France for similar accommodations. Yes, the rooms are small, but that's NORMAL - not a negative.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: In the centre of Avignon within easy reach of most tourist attractions in the city. 15 minutes walk to the Avignon Centre train station
Cons: Nothing particularly.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Location Comfort Cleanliness
Cons: No swimming pool
5.8 Okay
Cons: Small room (& we had one of the bigger ones). Neither room nor bathroom were clean with cobwebs, spider and dirty smears on shower wall and bathroom door (bedding was however clean)
7.0 Good
Pros: Fantastic staff. Very helpful
Cons: Beds were really uncomfortable, and pillows were tiny....
6.0 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. Good location as all the 3 and 2 star hotels in the town. There is a small discount 3euro for parking.
Cons: It is rated as 4 stars , but actually it dies not live up to the standards. The room is so small that two slim persons can not pass in the room. The toilet is so small that I can not sit straight. Dinner and breakfast offering seem to be expensive comparing to other restaurants in town. If you come here for a conference or a business trip, this hotel is ok. If you travel on your own cost for pleasure, try to find other hotels.
7.9 Good
Pros: It’s a comfortable hotel in a good location where I have stayed previously
Cons: There was no hot water for one day of my stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Walking distance to the plaza but not noisy. Breakfast is good. Close to public parking but need a few steps.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Location and ease of parking.
Cons: The duvet on the bed was too hot. We had to take it apart.
Best Western Hotel Paradou - Avignon - Bedroom
3
8.1 Excellent (2,457 reviews)
₹ 5,320+
Overview Reviews
The Best Western Hotel Paradou is set in a beautiful Provence style garden, offering 98 rooms with all modern equipment. You can relax and enjoy the outdoor swimming pool, together with the fine cuisine and friendly service of the restaurant. Located near the Garden Golf course, this property offers an ideal setting for both business (three meeting rooms to welcome up to 150 people) and leisure travelers (Cheval Passion horse show in January). Moreover, you are within walking distance from Avignon airport, a few kilometers from the City Center of Avignon, and only five minutes from the A7 Motorway, TGV train station (three hours from Paris). It is also the perfect start to the breathtaking Provence countryside with its wealth of scenery stretching from the slopes of the Mont Ventoux, Luberon and its ochre sand perched villages Roussillon, the vast lands of Camargue, and Avignon with its great theatre Festival in July, the legendary bridge and the very popular Palace of the Popes.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: All perfect, location and staff very pleasant
9.0 Excellent
Cons: Difficult to find after sunset. No indication / misplaced sign and closed gate.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice well spaced areas, we dined there and the food was excellent
Cons: A bit aged room and bathroom, property kept increasing stay as we had to change the dates twice.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked a superior room here for 2 nights but were not satisfied with the room; cold, dark, internet was not working well. After the first night we had windows covered in condensation and we saw mold around the window and in the bathroom. We told the lady at the reception and she was perfect about it. They gave us a deluxe room in another building and we loved our room. Spacious enough for 2 guests, carpet, clean, nice air circulation, small terrace, table with a chair and enough light. Beds are really comfortable. Breakfast with lots of choice, some homemade cake, plant based milk, fruits, pancakes, fresh honey, fresh boiled eggs, juices. Good coffee and tea. Easy and safe parking. Staff is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. We would stay here again but would make sure to book the deluxe room.
Cons: They need to renovate some of their rooms and it will be a great hotel. Fresh juice or better quality than the machine one for breakfast would be an improvement.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the bed was not so comfortable
Cons: breakfast
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Large clean rooms. Comfortable beds, quiet rooms, good wifi. Interesting layout of the grounds. Pool avail in better weather.
Cons: Shower over a bath is not good for older guests or the infirm.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet, good breakfast, large room, welcoming personal, carpark protected and free
Cons: The carpet starts to be old and leave a smell in the room a bit unpleasant when entering. Then you get use.
Avignon Grand Hotel - Avignon - Building

8.2 Excellent (1,942 reviews)
₹ 6,992+
Overview Reviews
A stay at Avignon Grand Hotel places you in the heart of Avignon, within a 15-minute walk of Place de l'Horloge and Palais des Papes. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The price we got via Kayak
Cons: They were very unprepared to handle the number of folks at checkin. Seemed unorganized..
7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel has a very convenient location. I would also mention really good sound protection of windows.
Cons: The hotel is fine but the overall feeling is that it’s not a cozy place for stay. It’s all about small things which may not really matter but in the end the impression is that it’s not “it”. Rooms also require renovation, even though, the hotel staff really do their best to keep the very clean.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very near the railway station, so excellent if travelling by train. Easy to walk to old city centre. Good buffet breakfast with views of town walls from breakfast room to whet the appetite for sightseeing and exploration. Very helpful staff.
Cons: Impossible to fault the hotel but, probably because of the layout of the reception area, it somehow lacked any character.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Big room for family.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location. Close to everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room, very quiet.
Cons: Breakfast buffet did not have a less expensive option, like a coffee and croisant.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: For a stopover on our journey from London to Aix-en-Provence via Paris and Avignon by train, it was really good. The hotel is a very short walk from Avignon Central station. We had a comfortable room, with bath and shower, and there was a generous breakfast buffet with hot and cold items. Staff were helpful when we wanted to leave our suitcases for the morning.
Cons: There was a slight air of conference centre about it all, but perfectly pleasant. Not the most modern decor. No restaurant, but plenty available a short walk away in Avignon centre.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location, staff and parking were very good
Cons: The plugs in the room
1.0 Poor
Pros: Location was very convenient just outside the city walls, but the road was noisy.
Cons: Room was very hot and the air con did not work to provide cool air. We were told that this is because the system can only provide hot air in the winter and cool air in the summer, but it was 15 degrees when we stayed on 20 December, so we had to leave the windows open as it was so hot. We all suffered the worst night's sleep we have ever had, with mosquitoes biting all night, the sound of mice running in the celiing area. My son slept on the couch in the lounge to escape the mosquitoes which were in both bedrooms - very stange on 20th December, so we think they are coming in through the warm air ducts. The spiral staircase is not attached to the walls so creaks and moves around when you use it - feels very unsafe. Shower does not drain properly and leaks. We don't generally complain, but felt it necessary given the amount we paid for the suite and were offered no recompense. Really sorry but this goes down as one of our worst experiences in a hotel, even when we went very budget in developing countries when we were younger.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Central location. Spacious room. Nice breakfast
Cons: Not much. Not many English channels
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice location easy to get to. Parking just under the hotel. Very friendly staff. The family apartment is very comfortable and nicely furnished. Good breakfast as well.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful and impressive location. Good value. The staff were all brilliant. We stayed on 2 occasions and on the second were upgraded to a stunning room with a view of the court yard. Parking is available but not free -very necessary though!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff, clean, bright,
4.8 Okay
Pros: Cool spot in a former monastery that made it extremely unique and interesting.
Cons: My room at on the top floor which is usually a good thing except for the amount of money I was paying, I could not stand up in the shower to shower because the ceiling was there. I literally had to squat down to shower (I'm 5'11), so I'm not very tall. If I were 4 feet tall then it would have been ok. The sink and mirror for the bathroom were exactly the same issue. Could not stand up to see myself in the mirror. Had to be on my knees to look in the mirror. Also, since my room lacked any windows, the only natural light was from the skylights only a view of the sky through those. Horrible experience for the amount of money I paid for a "standard room"
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love the architecture and quietness of the hotel. This is an exclusive property. I love the spacious Deluxe room with large modern bathroom and a beautiful view on the inner courtyard with the fonteyn and the platanes trees.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The car park
Cons: We were upgraded but we had to walk up a spiral stone staircase it certainly wasn’t an upgrade!!!! I think it was the only way to use the rooms they need refurbishing the toilet smelt of drains and the bath had a crack in as well as the paint was coming off the wall in the bathroom, our room was not a 4 star hotel room more like a 2 star but it was clean.
6.7 Good
Pros: The old building and courtyard was beautiful and our room was big. I never ate at the hotel restaurant but it looked very nice. The room that we got although the layout was unpleasant, the room was very spacious with a big balcony!
Cons: I did not like the new part of the building, the room layout is not pleasant. I did ask if it was possible to change, the staff was nice but unfortunately it wasn’t possible to change. You walk into a weird corridor that feels very cold and clinical, here you find the cupboards. Unfortunately that area smells like bathroom or bad drainage. In order to get to the room you have to go through another door and its got an automatic closing system on it which makes the door heavy and impossible to open quietly!! Its impossible to go to the bathroom at night without waking everyone up. I didn’t realize that by getting a superior room it automatically ment you are in the new part. They should make that clear in my opinion, i would have rather stayed in a standard double! I also got charged twice for city tax!! Once by booking and another time as we checked out! I didn’t realize this at time when i was paying only as i looked at my receipt from booking. Parking is another 15€ a day!!
7.0 Good
Pros: The 4 star parking was easy to access from the ring-road.
Cons: There were no curtains over the bedroom window and the shutters did not block the light. This is not a 4 star hotel. The shower was black inside which meant that visibility was a problem and it did not have a shelf for products. The shower doors did not keep the water inside the shower cubical.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location, huge rooms
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Attitude of the staff and the wonderful ambience
Cons: Room was a little small

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Just what is needed. The microfiber towels sold are a reasonable price and they dry super quickly. Staff is friendly. WiFi works.
Cons: A non smoking place would have been more enjoyable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Price.
Cons: Nothing.
7.0 Good
Pros: Price tag for one night is good
Cons: No complain.
6.7 Good
Cons: Wifi is not working
1.0 Poor
Pros: I appreciated that the window in the room had a lock on it as we were on the ground floor.
Cons: Location and safety are my two biggest complaints for this hostel. First, the location was terrible. As two women traveling alone, walking past sex shops on the way to the hostel wasn’t a good sign. Second, when we walked into the hostel there were 8 men outside smoking and hanging out. All stared without saying a word. If you are a woman, please consider finding a hostel closer to the city center for safety. We decided the place was too unsafe to stay long term and when our Uber picked us up he told us that this location has a bad reputation. He advised us to always stay within the city walls. I would have hoped to have the staff be more of a resource but they were not at the desk when needed while we were there. There was a phone to use if the front desk was not staffed and no one answered the line. I recommend that you find a place to stay that is closer to the palace in Avignon where you can feel safe being outside.
Ibis Avignon Centre Gare - Avignon - Building
7
8.1 Excellent (2,928 reviews)
₹ 5,320+
Overview Reviews
Ideally located in the city center and right next to the station, the ibis Avignon Centre Gare hotel is the perfect place for business travel, family vacations or Avignon's annual theater festival. The ibis Avignon Centre Gare hotel has everything you nee d: opposite the ramparts, just a few steps from the Popes' Palace and the Pont D'Avignon, a bar that is open 24 hours a day, an ibis Kitchen Lounge restaurant that is open evenings and free WIFI. Some rooms overlook the Popes' Palace.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Room could be a bit bigger.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Check-in staff was wonderfully friendly and informative. The room had a convenient long counter for spreading out my bag and laptop (internet access was good). The hotel is virtually attached to Gare d'Avignon Centre which was incredibly convenient for me (and, surprisingly, not at all noisy). It is about a 7-minute walk to the Tourist Information office within the rampart walls of old Avignon. I did not have breakfast so I cannot speak to that. There is a restaurant onsite with a limited menu but I found my dinner there convenient and good. Apparently there are several Ibis hotels in the area, so be sure you know which one you want before booking.
Cons: The room was comfortable for one but it might be kind of tight for two. The hotel is pet-friendly (good) but my next door neighbour's little dog was barking fairly continuously at 7:30 am (not so good). I was up anyway, so it wasn't really a problem for me, and I didn't experience any other issues with noise. This is not a criticism of the hotel, just a point to remember: Avignon has two train stations. If you come in on the TGV from Paris, you will want to get a train ticket that connects you to Gare d'Avignon Centre or taxi or Uber over to the hotel from the TGV station. Train may be cheaper.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location near train station, which made seeing other towns a breeze. Just cross the street and you're inside Avignon's city walls, walking distance to anything a tourist might want to see. Clean room and bathroom, bit snug as to be expected. Post office just inside city walks across the street, good laundry about a 10 minute walk in the opposite direction of the city walls.
Cons: Strong odor in hallway, thankfully not in the room. Not a lot of storage for a couple, solo it was just fine. Couldn't open window in room and the air conditioning seemed capped. It was rather warm and it didn't matter how cold or what strength I put the AC on, it always felt like it was 24C/75F in the room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent evening team, very kind and warm welcome from the evening team. Very comfortable clean room, good bed. The restaurant downstairs serves good food and wine.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, breakfast (had reasonable selection).
Cons: Facilities are very basic
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Locaton, staff
Cons: Small bathroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just fine!
Cons: Everything was just fine.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It is a excellent location that 3 minutes walk from the train station. 10-15 minutes walk to the town centre. Comfortable bed and good sound resistance.
Cons: Some people with strange look and dress always walk around outside the hotel that make guest feel uncomfortable.

Pros: Very nice location in the centre of Avignon. Valet parking: Just pull up at their gate, and the staff take care of everything: the car and the luggage. That is 5-star service. Beautiful room.
Cons: The building is old and the air in the rooms was a bit stuffy and it smelled of mold. They should air out and maybe try and dry out the humidity.

7.0 Good
Pros: Very good location in the city centre on the main street, near many reastaurants and public places, very friendly and helping personel, internet, lockers for luggage under the bunkbeds, if you don't have a lock - can be bougth there, such as other travelers' things. A BAR!
Cons: Many toilets and bathrooms on my floor were closed for some reason.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Checking in was very straight forward and friendly. The snooze rooms were old-fashioned and simple, that I love, with the bunk-couches, and with nice big French windows fr lots of light. The salone was especially stylised, but had a lovely simple effect, too. I think this was because the staff were kind, unobtrusive and friendly. The bathroom was sparkling clean. One could, also make oneself a cup of coffee very easily. The property was fantastically central at the beautiful, ancient, french City of Avignon - like a dream. Lovely. Thank you very much. gmm
Cons: Here I have no comment, I am very satisfied. gmm
5.0 Okay
Pros: I liked the staff they let me leave my luggage in the room while I was waiting for the train Nice bar quite cheap Nice location Comfy beds
Cons: I didn't like the smell of smoke I didn't like the breakfast it wasnt very good for the price It should be cheaper for the hostel Smelly bathrooms Not very clean
8.0 Excellent
Pros: My room was spacious, nice and clean, the bed super comfortable. I also loved the bar, so cosy :) will come back for sure. Ps oh and the young woman from the staff is adorable !!
Cons: The breakfast "buffet"
4.0 Okay
Pros: Good location.
Cons: This Hostel has administrative issues. 1. Hostel staff is not friendly and they don't care for doing something to offer a good service nor listen people's needs and suggestions. When I told them about showers don't working they literally said "there's nothing I can do, that's how it is, sorry, talk to the manager". 2. Bathrooms are a disaster, most of them are out of service and nobody cares for fixing them. There were two showers for the whole 2nd floor. Despite there wasnt many people staying, none of the showers fully worked: one was broken and the other one had no light. I stayed 4 nights 5 days, and were never fixed. 3. One has to make their own bed, put sheets and everything. That should be something the hostel does, especially because most guys don't care, don't use the sheets and use directly mattresses, pilows and blanckets making them something not clean.
5.0 Okay
Pros: the bar is nice and you can buy great coffee in the morning. I stayed only one night for an intermission between trains and for that my stay was totally fine.
Cons: there was a very bad smell in the hall between reception and bathroom/kitchen. The kitchen is very small and dark and doesn't look very tidy on the first sight, it stinks inside the room. Bathroom was not very comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Such a sincere welcome by the gentleman who mans the desk and bar. Comfortable and clean, with a very homely communal area.
7.0 Good
Pros: I still like the place, perfect location and relaxed atmosphere. Good price as well...
Cons: It is quite clean, but the showers are old and not well maintained.i.e. the light in the shower did not work. I got bitten during the night, even though the bedsheets were clean...

Pros: Location excellent - very near railway station, with numerous eating places nearby. Room small but comfortable, bed very comfortable, shower and all other equipment functioned perfectly. I didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on that.
Cons: The only problem for me, being a senior, was that room was on 3rd floor and there is no lift. I perfectly understand that there is just no room, but that was a difficulty for me. In all other respects everything was good.

Pros: Very good location in side street close to the town's train station and tourist office. The owner was friendly, the room good. Didn't have breakfast or use any of the facilities.
Cons: The bathroom in our room (number 6) was very very small. Everything worked well but ideally we would have appreciated a larger bathroom.

Cons: parking is a hassle. directing in English very clear would have helped
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room had a lovely terrace with a table and chairs and a beautiful view of the river

4.6 Okay
Pros: There was a community kitchen
Cons: The room was one of the grimmest I have stayed in Dark with only one very small window with no see through material. Floor of shower unit Is disintegrating at the entry and is of a dirty mosaic appearance. The air conditioner when on is extremely noisy. I didn’t use its garage facility as trying to negotiate a path there was nor manageable due to restricted access.
7.9 Good
Pros: If you want to stay inside the wall when you visit Avignon then this is a great place to stay...it's right where you want to be! You also have a separate garage for your car which you will need when you drive inside the wall.
Cons: You will need to follow the directions to this place that the owner will supply because there are many one way roads and pedestrian only areas on your way to this unit.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful
6.7 Good
Pros: The bed was comfortable. Walk in shower was great. Also separate toilet.
Cons: We didn't expect to have to share a kitchen. Apt had 3 bedrooms sharing the kitchen. There was no lift (partner post surgery!) The employee that met us with keys was very pleasant and did her very best but had little English so difficult to sort things out. Would like all of these to be made clear on website before booking and not to be receiving messages afterwards.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect for historic sits and excellent local restaurants.
Cons: The staff were friendly and VERY helpful. The location is perfect.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A small, modern hotel in a perfect location in the heart of old Avignon. Good value and pleasant, comfortable, quiet rooms. Fancy coffee maker in room.
Cons: Difficult to access by car and parking garages are not too close (not bad, though). We were upgraded to a suite which was really nice, but despite having an elevator, we still had to climb an additional 30 steps after we got off on our floor to reach it (with all our luggage, baby stroller, etc.). That was just for the suite, but most other rooms also require various numbers of extra steps despite being on the same "floor."
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable great coffee and tea. Lovely sized room
Cons: The room at the corner of the building overlooking the plaza had no wifi signal

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location cannot be beat. The main reason to visit Avignon is to be in the old town and this is in the center of everything. The room was clean with it's own bathroom.
Cons: Since the hotel is in the old town, parking was confusing.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was great close to everything. Restaurant next door was excellent
Cons: Bed was a double way too small for 2 adults! Asked about a room change to be told all rooms have a double. Surprise when you insist they had a room with larger bed!

5.0 Okay
Pros: Pretty hotel Comfortable rooms In a beautiful location
Cons: There was no information about finding the property and the road closures on booking.com or the hotel website I arrived late in the night After maneuvering through the streets of the old city of Avignon fruitlessly I called the hotel who told me not to use the GPS! The night staff talked me through the route and I eventually found the hotel only to be told I had to park in a public parking garage The route the desk clerk gave me was wrong and I ended up once again lost in Avignon! I eventually found my own way to the parking (a large underground municipal car park which did not feel great to be wandering around in at 2am) and then walked to the hotel and collapsed into bed at 230 am! If I had known access and parking would be like this I would not have even entertained staying here. It look 1 and a half hours from arriving in Avignon to actually getting into my bed! A lot of sleep time to waste after 2 days of travelling I certainly won’t be back!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: A very comfortable hotel in a superb location. Old city walls, the famous Pont Bénezét and the edge of the impressive Palais des Papes are all literally just a stone's throw away from the hotel. Would not hesitate to return to this hotel for another visit to Avignon.
10.0 Excellent

No need to book breakfast at the hotel, there is so much nearby to choose from with the scenery being amazing.... Room was comfortable, clean and had everything that you need. Pros: The hotel is in a very center of Avignon, inside in a beautiful building. Ronain is very nice and helpful. He made us feel as comfortable as home. If we come back to Avignon, we would like to choose again this hotel. Certainly we will also recommend it to our friends.

Cons: No explanation/information about hotel or city at all when we checked in. No city view as booked. Strange smell in on of our rooms. One key card did open both of our rooms. Poor breakfast.
