Anchorage hotels near Fifth Avenue Mall

Cons: I thought the hotel was in desperate need of a refresh or update. The rooms and the entire hotel seemed a bit dated. I stayed on the Captains Deck and the rooms were a bit small and did not impress. The sink did not drain properly. The most disappointing part of the trip was the breakfast which was never more than like warm at best. It come from the kitchen which is far away. The breakfast had 3 warm choices and one was always potatoes that were recycled from the night before. Not sure if I would spend that kind of money to stay at that hotel again.

Cons: TV was very small :)

Cons: Had to pay and additional 20 dollars a day to park my own car. The hotel did not own the lot. The desk clerk filled out the passes incorrectly and I received a parking ticket. Took some arguing but I was able to get the hotel to reverse the parking charges so I can pay for the ticket.

Cons: The amenities seems small and the decor needs an update. The staff was very accommodating and polite. The fitness center was well equipped

Cons: Valet parking is expensive, but very convenient.

Cons: Both times we stayed there, about a week apart, we were given rooms right next to the elevators which ran all night long.

Cons: Hotel could use some renovations. The decor in the hallways looks like it came from the 70s. The bathrooms are a little small, expecllly in the shower.

Cons: No complaints

Cons: They still haven't figured out how to operate in the time of COVID. No housekeeping is fine but then please come up with a system to take out trash, refill toiletries and coffee, etc. Also the restaurant / breakfast is disorganized and it is totally unclear how to get food, too many people cutting in line because of the chaos. Also never enough people at the front desk -- large groups of airline staff checking in or out together means that regular chumps like us are left waiting in line forever.

Cons: Would have liked to see the edges of the carpet in the hallways cleaned. Did mention this, and they were going to address it.

Cons: Not a lot of options at breakfast.

Cons: Window curtain had holes. Sink trap is almost clogged. These items shows a lack of commitment to standards

Cons: The breakfast is not very good. Substandard for the price.

Cons: There really wasn't anything, as long as you're used to steady prop-plane noise, since the airport is next door.

Cons: Issue with homeless people outside and noise in parking lot late at night

Cons: This hotel is decidedly No Frills. It is far from the airport in downtown so you need a car. However it is a good place if you have a car and are staying overnight in Anchorage. The heavy security is a little weird.

Cons: When you walk in, it is like walking into a secured facility. After a certain hour, the door is locked and you are greeted by a security guard. There is an attendant watching a huge bank of secrecy cameras. The room is small (but it has a stove, which I guess makes it a suite). It lacked a iron and an ironing board, which I always find important.

Cons: No vents in bathroom. Could be updated

Cons: Wifi is slow. Beds are uncomfortable.

Cons: The building smelled, needs a desperate renovation, bathroom was small, had to ask for soap every day, trash bags were not provided.

Cons: Carpets were really dirty. Toilet ran, shower head was broken. Strange smell in room.

Cons: Too much partying throughout the hotel, all night and morning, and the sound of doors closing, floors creaking, and talking prevented me from getting much sleep. Room was hot and stuffy. Fortunately my son is a heavy sleeper. We booked two nights but left after one. Good on them, they did refund my second night.

Cons: needed some maintenance... bathroom light didn't always work sitting room tv didn't work, drippy faucet in bathroom

Cons: The hotel associates lacked customer service! The breakfast lines were horrible, and also bad hostess service. *also they need conditioner(shampoo). I would never stay there again.

Cons: My room had stale smoke smell

Cons: The staff is super rude and they should be fired. The price is not a good deal for just one night if you pay over $60/night your getting ripped off. The internet is super slow I got a fast internet speeds from a 3g connection on my cell phone. The breakfast is cold and nothing is cooked. Pretty lame hotel that doesn't offer good amenities. Would suggest getting a room at a different hotel that has a better staff,good breakfast, and fast internet.

Cons: The carpet in the halls were quite stained, our AC in the room did not cool. The bathroom vent fan did work at all. There was a tube of caulk left on the floor. There were several things that were not clean including the bathroom counter and trim, and bathroom vent. The TV remote for the old tube-type TV did not work and the battery cover was just taped on. The staff did bring us a fan to cool off the room. That helped the temperature some, but largely the reason for running the AC unit was for cover noise so we wouldn't hear other rooms or outside noise as well as being able to close the blinds to make it darker so we could get to sleep early for our 2:30AM wake-up time for our flight.

Cons: Our room (213) was atrocious. There was a broken window. We could not put down the window blinds because they would have blocked the air conditioner which was needed to make the stuffy room tolerable. Our room was not clean - we found an empty soda bottle on the floor near the window and a bag of trash under the sink. The instructional decal was missing from our shower so we had no idea how to operate the shower. All in all a very poor experience and a bad introduction to our "trip of a lifetime" to Alaska.

Cons: Everything else. Room was on the same floor as the admin offices, the exercise room and the food storage; keys on second day not working; big gap under entrance door allowing noise, light and horrible grease trap smells from the pub located below; noisy and unruly occupants; smoking area outside right below room window; room heaters not working; tv remote not working; stained sheets on first day; bathroom mold in the shower curtain nook; 1 day of no hot water; no extra toilet paper; inconsistencies with housekeeping cleaning efforts and supplies; had to beg for extra towels; dangerously high tub edge and washing machines not extracting washed requiring multiple extra runs at $2 each run.

Cons: Mold on the ceiling in bathroom, no fan in bathroom, room smelled funny, didn't feel clean overall.

Cons: It was further from downtown than I had thought. But that was not bad. It was only a few blocks further. It was very noisy because you could hear the plumbing running from other units and in general there was not much buffering for noise from other rooms.

Cons: It wasn't the cleanest....the fridge had visible dirt in it. There were random brown splatters on the walls and ceiling. Hair in the bathroom (every where). Toilet and towels were about the only thing that was really clean in the bathroom. I will note the bedding was clean and smelled fresh! There is wonderful looking wallpaper on the walls and in the far corner (next to the bed I did not use) the entire corner of the wall is loose and you can lift it away from the studs in the wall. Every day I was there my key would not work (4 nights). It's kind of a pain to go from the 15th floor to get a new key. They blamed it on us because cell phones deactivate them however my boyfriend had it in his wallet the entire time. I had tried calling the night before my stay ended to see what time the shuttle left in the morning and no one would answer the front desk phone from 10pm-11pm. You can hear everything through the walls. Everything your neighbors do can be heard. Luckily we only had "neighbors" 2 of our 4 nights.

Cons: Staff were curt and disinterested. People running around the halls drinking, swearing, knocking on doors and yelling until 2am! We called the for the desk but what can a middle,raged woman do with young people running wild. Room was clean enough but I brought a comforter because the one provided was dirty looking.

Cons: This place was definitely out dated. Also, when we checked in, we were given a room that was already occupied! In talking with another guest in the lobby, this had happened to him too! Totally unacceptable...

Cons: Room was broken in so many ways yellow stains in tub back splash broken like it had been punched base board not even attached to wall in most places entry door was loose which makes security an issue quick easy repairs unless maintenece is completely incompotent just about every applience out dated and worn down i could repair all damages in about 2 hrs not very happy and was looking for a month or more stay just doing trial run wont stay again and will not let any friends stay there.

Cons: no internet access at all, couldn't get the heat regulated in the room at all, so we both froze and cooked for both nights.

Cons: I booked the room early for $136.90 including taxes. My credit card was charged $151.90. I called Inlet Tower Hotel and Suites. I was told they charged $15.00 for incidental charges and it would come off my card in 35 business days. That was not mentioned any where in my booking ☹️

Cons: There was a strange humming sound - like an appliance or something that kept us awake all night. We could not locate where the sound was coming from but it was quite irritating.

Cons: Very rude front desk staff and not accommodating at all. This was only one person but it reflected very poorly on the hotel staff. This was the only negative part of our entire stay- BUT IT WAS A BIG NEGATIVE

Cons: The wifi was terrible. I could not get connected despite numerous attempts. I did not have this trouble at the airport at all. There I was connected immediately. Shower not working correctly.

Cons: Rooms smelled a little musty.

Cons: Elevator was slow and only one was working

Cons: They refused to check me in. Angel, the woman processing my check-in could not find my reservation. She was rude and inhospitable. I will never go back.
