Parador de Zafra - Zafra - Building
1
8.6 Excellent (1,939 reviews)
₹ 8,101+
Overview Reviews
Parador de Zafra is in the heart of Zafra, within a 5-minute walk of Zafra Castle and Plaza Grande. Featured amenities include express check-in, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. This hotel has 2 meeting rooms available for events.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely gorgeous castle. Staff absolutely superb and very helpful with everything from parking to enduring our rooms were perfect. Beautiful and very tasteful Spanish antiques located throughout the Parador.
Cons: The only issue I had were the area rugs in all the public spaces needed a good cleaning as they displayed many stains and they distract from the beauty and exceptional ambiance of the Parador. Suggest professional carpet cleaners be hired to come in weekly to ensure that those beautiful area rugs remain immaculate.
6.8 Good
Pros: The location, right in the old city centre, the parador itself its a castle so what more there is to say
Cons: The breakfast, the waiting time for a table, even if they were available but with the old plates and cups, the lack of employees at breakfast
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A well cared for historical building in an excellent position close to all amenities. With parking on the doorstep.
Cons: All good
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent. and the building was very grand, but the room was small and dark
Cons: The room we had was small and dark, not in keeping with the grand scale of the building.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just a wonderful location and building and the staff were great. Dinner and breakfast delicious
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location of this Parador is excellent, along with the Parking. It is an old building , but very comfortable. Staff were efficient & friendly.
Cons: The practice of closing the Swimming Pool, when October arrives is absolutely ridiculous. It was 28*C and yet the Pool was closed. I asked about this at the Reception and it was explained that Spanish People consider it not swimming weather.A minor technicality, most of the Guests are not Spanish and come from Climates, where Temperatures of 28* are very rare. It is simply a cost saving measure which is simply not acceptable, considering the Rates charged for the accommodation. I contacted the Parador Main Office, the decision of closing Swimming Pools is left to each individual Parador.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Rooms have tiny windows so no light, electrics and bathrooms are dated,
Cons: Food and restaurant service was poor

Cons: Whilst still charming some of the hotel's elegance is a little faded!

Pros: Beautiful area in a square in the old town. There was a festival when we arrived so we got lost trying to use navigation down closed roads, but eventually found safe and free roadside parking. The receptionist was very kind and helpful
Cons: The hotel is quite pretty, but the photos don't show the very unusual brightly coloured ceilings.

Pros: Old town square location is great. We got a great deal on booking.com and stayed an extra night for the same rate. Staff helpful and friendly.

Pros: Lovely comfortable room, excellent location and secure underground parking.
Cons: Although I left a do not disturb notice on the door when we went to breakfast, the ,aid came in and cleaned our room while we were away. Thar meant I had to dirty towels again as I hadn't finished my ablutions. Our suitcases were still in the room so not sure why she didn't realise. Apart from that all was good.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The beauty of the inner courtyard - as advertised. Breakfast was good, too.
Cons: The rooms (we firmly rejected the first room offered) were shabby with paint peeling and the bathroom sink was coming away from the wall (big crack). We decided to stay only one night of the two we booked and we not charged.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quirky hotel in central location. Very smart with antique furnishings. Ideal for a one night stay and very good value breakfast, room very dark but four poster bed a bonus
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Had to make a last minute booking to break up a homeward bound journey and discovered this wonderful, luxurious hotel!! Beautifully decorated, our room looked out over a patio and 'castle' walls, yet very reasonably priced when we visited late August. The breakfast, for example, which could be enjoyed if desired, outside in the patio, was only 5 euros and was a buffet,so we set off home, well rested and well fed! Will stop off there again if back in the area!!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great little hotel, has a lovely welcoming feel to it, the tapas bar adjacent to the hotel was livel. THE room I had was large and the bed a very good size with views over the historic centre. Generally a great little hotel in a perfect location with friendly staff

Hotel Los Balcones de Zafra - Zafra - Bedroom
11
7.6 Good (445 reviews)
₹ 3,861+
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Charming owner, very knowledgeable about the history of the lovely town. Good room, hotel is on the main square which is utterly charming, full of bars & restaurants.
Cons: Nothing!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Not only was the hotel right on the main plaza, it also was an exceptionally well restored historic building. The owner met us at reception and immediately began telling us of the history of the hotel, the plaza and the historic significance of the town. Our well appointed third floor room not only had views of the castle and monastery, but also had a large (shared) balcony that overlooked the plaza.
Cons: Due to mis-communication, what we thought we'd been told was that parking in the plaza was free from 2pm Saturday until Monday morning. What our host was actually trying to say was the the plaza was to be free of cars (nor for cars!) during that period, so we copped a 90 Euro fine...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great central location right in the main square, beautiful old house with some original features and antique furniture, very friendly and informative owner and staff. Comfortable bed. Lift. Great shower. Balcony, nice view.
Cons: Had to go and find a parking space after dropping cases, question of luck how far away and how long that takes, we were 10 minutes walk. We were given a room at the back where the WiFi often didn’t work. No mosquito screens on the windows. Wrong toilet seat which was too small, loose and moved. Mirror lights fine in bathroom but main lights didn’t work.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location right in Plaza Grande. Wonderful atmospheric old property with an ultra enthusiastic and knowledgeable host who was kind enough to show us around his family heirlooms. Large room and good shower.
Cons: Not having a front door key and having to disturb host to gain access.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: No key for front door. Needed to ring bell and wait for someone to come to open the door
7.9 Good
Pros: Good central location. Nice old buildings.
Cons: Parking was by meter in the town square and this wasn't really clear on the website. Operating the shower was a bit of a nightmare despite instructions from the owner!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, an old historical landmark.
Cons: Not very comfortable, but ok.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location in the center of the town. The inside of the building is an old house, nicely renovated, with an elevator and a common terrace with a beautiful sight.
Cons: The room should have aconditioned air, but it didn't work properly. We had a unpleasant wake up with a very high temperature in the room... The management did nothing to amend the situation. No parking.
