St. Louis hotels near Old Courthouse

Cons: Staff apologized for construction but it was quiet over the weekend and didn't bother us at all. (Was told construction would end March 2016.) Room was on the small side but comfortable.

Cons: Beds seemed small and not the most comfortable.

Cons: Pool hours!

Cons: Would have liked to have had bacon on the breakfast buffet.

Cons: the bed was very uncomfortable!

Cons: We had a third person with us and opted for the roll away bed. The first one we received had a bug in it.Once notified, the staff quickly replaced it but the mattress on the second bed left a lot to be desired. Very flat and uncomfortable.

Cons: The free evening food and drinks ends at 7 and we just missed it. This was obviously our own fault for not arriving on time, but it's still a little disappointing that the free drinks don't run as late as they do at most other hotels. The hotel staff accidentally told us the wrong room number, so we were trying to see if any of our keys worked when someone answered the door! Not a big deal, just a bit of a shock.

Cons: No window in the room. Poor bathroom design (couldn't open the door if someone was at the sink). 1 elevator and it takes forever to get anywhere. The location feels a little creepy if you are walking back at night.

Cons: Pool was closed for repairs.

Cons: Room 500 "with an arch view". It was the back wall of the pool building!

Cons: For a family, the room could use more drawer space. We did not use the pool or spa, because it did not appear very clean, and had a very strong chlorine smell.

Cons: Our bed seemed to send both of us to the middle of the bed.

Cons: Pool was a bit cloudy but there was a bunch of kids in there before us.

Cons: Elevator was slow

Cons: Beds!!!! Very Uncomfortable but the customer service, hands down made up for it!!

Cons: Lack of pool towels despite multiple requests for more.

Cons: A mini fridge would have been nice. Also, there was no view from the room. From our room, we only had a view of the wall of the building next door and all of the air conditioner units.

Cons: I didn't like to 30$ in state fees and taxes .... And that the free breakfast didn't include eggs, ect.

Cons: Some of the staff was rude. The room especially the bathroom has no ventilation.

Cons: Everything that preceded after that was disappointing. When ordering hot water for tea and requesting extra tea bags (of which were free in the room to start)- we were charged $4 per bag and then were never restocked in the room. The front desk staff became intolerant and annoyed whenever I had a question about room cleaning or billing charges. I was shocked by the attitude overall. We let them know that our ceiling was dripping large amounts of water and the paint was bubbling up on the walls of the bathroom, but they seemed unconcerned. Lastly, my card ended up having an extra authorization hold on it that I had to call to have released so that my bank could release the funds back into my account. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels and I have never had the hotel not only charge the entire amount upon check in- but not be able to split the charges upon checkin. The accounting department was helpful, but I felt like I needed to impress the seriousness of $1000 being held from my account, $140 of it that never should have been charged to begin with. For such a beautiful hotel, I would have expected better customer service for sure.

Cons: The bedroom was a little bit small, there was only about 2 ft, maybe less, between the end of the bed and the wall. However, it is an old building so that's to be expected. We had a not so beautiful view of the A/C units but for the price, I can't complain.

Cons: The bad -There's no fridge or microwave. If you're like me you might think, "no big deal." If you stay more than one night, it's a big frickin deal. You can't even have a cold drink of water without going to the 8th floor for ice. Forget the left overs from dinner you might want to bring back. Or the bottle of wine you'd like to chill. Or anything else that may need to be cold. It's a huge inconvenience that no milk and cookies or free wine can make up for. I can not for the life of me understand why they didn't install a fridge. -The breakfast is the worst. Plan on eating breakfast out. The options are extremely limited. Toast, bagels, cereal, muffins, and a few fruits. If I was staying one night, I wouldn't hesitate to choose this hotel. The problem is, I never stay one night anywhere. The no fridge thing is the tipping point for me. There's nothing else that differentiates this hotel from the major chains than the lack of a couple of basic amenities/services, a fridge, a microwave and a good breakfast.

Cons: Basically four walls and a bed. Even with Bonvoy Gold just a glorified Motel 6.

Cons: The only thing I could call a negative was the view out our windows of the HVAC units.

Cons: it was the closest hotel to where i needed to go, but it was half a mile (7 small easy to walk blocks) from anything else.

Cons: Nothing extra was included, no free breakfast, not even a free bottle of water even though it's sitting on your dresser when you get there (has a tag for $3). Minibar, like any hotel, was way overpriced.

Cons: difficult communication a change of date I actually paid twice for a room!! Oh well!

Cons: Food options were pricey - especially in-room. No hot tub (was really hoping for this esp after long days during biz trip and when cold out). Fitness Center has nice footprint and facilities but could be better equipped (more weight options - less cardio machines). They tried charging me for parking ($20) even though I arrived via Uber & told them I had no need for their parking services when I checked in the night before.

Cons: When we arrived there were 16 people in line and only one person working the front desk and it was taking at least 5 minutes to check in each person. We arrived at 3 pm when check in begins and there was only one staff member. Even if people in line were couples that would have been a 40 minute wait. We left and came back to check in later where we still had a short wait. Both yesterday and today there was only one working elevator. We were on the 4 floor. We waited 20 minutes for an elevator. Every time it stopped on our floor it was packed full with no extra space for us to get on. This was all a violation of the code to only have 2 people on the elevator at a time due to covid. We attempted to take the stairs but all the stairs we found would only go as far as the 2nd floor and if we went to the first floor it was an emergency exit only and had a warning that the alarm would sound. So again we were stuck waiting for an elevator that we couldn’t get. I finally called the front desk and asked if there was a set of stairs that didn’t lead to an emergency exit and explained our situation. They looked at a map and provided us directions to a stairwell that went to the first floor. We were met with a very hazardous stairwell that was blocked. But we finally managed to fins a way out of the building more than 30 minutes later! This was completely unacceptable.

Cons: There was hair on the floor, and a used shampoo in the shower!

Cons: The cleaning staff was very aggressive in there multiple attempts to enter the room while we slept in till about 10. And then while we were showing and getting ready to leave. Needless to say it was uncomfortable and frustrating. There was also construction at the entrance of the hotel this time during our stay. The room was loud. And the street and sidewalks were a mess.

Cons: Was suppose to check in after 3 didn't get 1 room till 5:30 and didn't get the other 2 rooms until 8:30 at night. Some of our group had to change clothes in the hotels public restroom. Front desk staff was not very helpful probably will not stay there again.

Cons: There are too many extras that the customer has to pay for. The Internet was $12.00 per day and the cost for drinks and food in the hotels restaurant were not a good value at all. We found ourselves going to the Hilton, just a block away, for these amenities.

Cons: There was a high pitched humming noise, like from something mechanical, coming from outside the room. It wasn't too loud, but you could hear it. I don't know if it was the hotel itself, or noise from the street. We were on a higher floor as well.

Cons: Downtown location means that you will pay at least $20 per night for parking! Hallway noise seemed to come in a bit louder than in other places I've stayed.

Cons: Did not like the price. Too pricey for just a place to sleep after a game.

Cons: We drove down from Indiana. It was a 5 + hour drive. Not horrible but long enough. When we got there we had to wait 30 minutes for our room to be ready. It was 5 pm. WELL after the check in time. That was aggravating. We were supposed to have a tub in our room and we ended up in the handicap room, so not tub and the shower was set up for movement challenged individuals. Great that they are accessible for people that need it but we would have preferred the room we booked. The sink in the bathroom leaked and the soap shelf in the shower was pulling away from the wall.

Cons: There was a wedding booked downstairs and the music was so loud you could not sleep. When we complained we were told "You're not the only guest who've complained, hopefully it's over soon". That is not a solution and im sure not the first time that has been a problem for guests. I didn't book there to sit up until 11, I won't be back.

Cons: Nearby bridge construction makes it difficult to access. Said bar was closed when there were still people in it. Took forever to check out - one agent to handle phones and checkout. Then I needed change for a valet tip so skipped the front desk and asked the restaurant - took over 5 minutes to finally get my change. Staff all friendly and tried to be helpful but the actual result was frustrating.

Cons: It was being rehabbed a bit so it wasn't in its full glory

Cons: Access around the grounds could have been better. Overcrowded due to Wine tasting event which restricted/limited access or traffic through certain sections of the campus.

Cons: The rooms were a bit drab and uninspired.

Cons: Hard to find your way around. Staff was less than helpful.

Cons: They had a special event which kept the remaining guests from the main foyer, bar and Starbucks. It was disappointing to miss those in the evening.

Cons: The layout is weird (it was hard to find our room) and it was a long walk from the entrance to the room. My biggest complaint was the pool: It looked fine from the surface but then I got in with goggles on and was disgusted to find wads of human hair and other dirt all over the bottom. Maybe the filter was broken? Regardless, it was gross. Also, there were no towels (and no one came to refill them in the hour I was there).

Cons: Paying per day for parking

Cons: Lobby staff are a bit robotic. Could use some sprucing up in the way of personality and interpersonal skills.

Cons: The options for food weren't spectacular but it it was okay. There were weddings two of the nights we were there so the bar and Grand restaurant in the lobby weren't accessible. Mall was a little disappointing but again, nothing that would detract us from returning.

Cons: Parking is $25 for self park and $35 for valet... I highly recommend the valet! It's definitely worth the extra money. (It seems expensive, but a lot of hotels in downtown areas charge money for parking....)

Cons: The hotel DID NOT HAVE OUR RESERVATION from Kayak in their system. Luckily there was a room available which was a miracle considering the Garth Brooks concert and Polar Express experience were events that day/night. Extremely disappointed and would have been quite angry if there had not been a hotel room available. I had my email confirmation from Kayak but the hotel had no record of the reservation. And we obviously had to pay the going rate instead of the rate from Kayak.

Cons: Having to pay $20 to park a night, and had we not be Hilton Honors Reward members we would've had to pay for breakfast as well. The layout was a little off, with the rooms a distance from the lobby. There was a wedding two of the three nights and everything was blocked off made it inconvenient and missed the light show. Very few shops in the shopping center.

Cons: I thought it the property would be a little more upscale like other Curio properties I’ve stay with. Also, I chose this hotel partly because of a particular piece of equipment in the fitness center. The equipment was broken unfortunately, but also looked like it hadn’t been wiped down or cleaned ever.
