How to Get Around Seychelles

Public Transportation

Public transport around the islands is available through buses on the main islands and inter island ferries.

The Seychelles Public Transport Corporation runs buses on the Praslin and Mahe islands. They run with a frequency of every 15min until the evening and will go all around the island. Buses also tend to be a bit slow and require ample planning-ahead time.

Renting a car on Praslin and Mahe Islands is a great option for seeing more of the islands at an individual pace. Please note that driving takes place on the left side of the road.

Air Seychelles operates local flights, which travel from Mahe to 6 other islands. Connections with Praslin are available multiple times a day, while flights to and from the other islands are available once a day or a few times per week. Helicopter flights with Zil Air provide connections and scenic flights to a few more islands.

Various ferry operators have boats that connect the Seychelles islands, with the most popular being Cat Cocos, Inter Island and Belle Serafina.

The Cost of Living in Seychelles

While credit and debit cards are accepted in all major hotels and establishements, it is advised to travel with cash for purchases from smaller vendors.
