Breakfast very simple, tea/coffee and muffins.
It's petite, but great!
Staff and location great!
Had loud protestors outside and had very small bathroom with black mold. Phone did not work. No pen or paper. Lights did not function properly. No AC No black out curtains
Tear Down and Start Over
Nothing
I would not advertise this establishment as a hotel. There were bugs. It smelled bad.
Solo journey
Value for the money. Clean facilities and comfortable room. Good and reliable Wi-Fi. Central location very accessible by BART and Muni close to shops, tourist attractions and restaurants.
Noise from alley at night or early morning, hotel staff is aware and provides ear plugs in your room but not really helpful. There was a strong smell of weed on my bathroom at night don't know where it was coming from but had to turn on extractor and close bathroom door and turn on ceiling fan and open room door to air out smell.
Overall, it was clean and good downtowns location.
Room had a musty smell and the walls are pretty thin, hence bery noisy- I guess that is why they give you ear plugs.
The location was excellent, the price very affordable, and the staff was very kind. The rooms were very clean and cared for by attentive staff.
The orientation of the bed was awkward, along with the pillows being very uncomfortable which impacted my sleep. The room got uncomfortably hot, but was held in check by an adequate fan. The bathroom was incredibly tiny and awkward.
Clean and friendly but not sure it's worth the money
Very clean rooms staff came everyday and restocked. Staff was nice and friendly.
No bathroom or shower in your room. No sink in the bathroom in the hallway. You have to wash your hands in your room which is kinda gross touching handles. We didn't know that before we stayed. And room are no bigger then 7 feet by 7 feet. Clean but so small. And breakfast is literally a muffin. With nothing else in your room even a fridge I would have liked a breakfast.
Not all rooms equivalent
Great location near Downtown BART stations and Moscone Center.
The room that I had this time had the sink located outside of the bathroom, near the bed and desk.
Excellent location and great hotel
If you don't mind the shared bathrooms, The Mosser is a superb place to stay and it's right in the heart of San Francisco. Best of all, it's a great value especially for a European style hotel at a prime location! Very friendly staff and we felt very comfortable during our 5-night stay.
The location is really nice and the cleanliness were very good.
The wall is very thin. The couples' voices who were staying next door were heard till late evening.
Rooms are small and efficient; be prepared. Bed was comfortable.
Hall bathroom was difficult to enter; the door got in the way. I remember waking up to some noise around 6am, but perhaps that's unavoidable in this location?
Great value, but know it is dorm-style living
Nice interior and nice rooms. Great coffee and free internet. I did not know that there is not a bathroom/shower in the suites, but rather down the hall. However, this isn't a big deal and I got a good value
Shared toilet/shower
Cleanliness was amazing. Kind and helpfull people. Coffee & Muffins in the morning was actually a good surprise. Will come back. Location is just amazing with such prices.
Staff was very helpful. Great location close to public transit. Great value for the price.
Beds were a little uncomfortable, bathroom very small.
Very centrally located for shopping.
Coffee making in the room would have been useful but the complementary morning coffee and muffins was good.
very good location, free internet, eventhough breakfast is not there, there was tee/cofee and some free bakery at the morning
the room is really small. The were no a table, no wardrobe. Basin was not in the bathroom but in the living room. So, choosing his hotel please be ready to this.
Very helpful and welcoming staff very convenient location and would certainly stay there again on any future visit to San Fransisco
There was nothing we did not like during our stay.
very small rooms and certainly not luxurious. but if you're okay with that...this is an excellent place, perfectly comfortable, clean, safe, in a great location at rates that are significantly below the monster places like marriott etc that are next door or nearby.
Considering the room rate, the location is pretty good, and the rooms are clean.
Rooms are too small, bathroom is almost unusable, I've never see a smaller sink in my life ! No air conditioning and you can clearly listen what is happening in the near rooms, the walls seems to be to thin to isolate. Parking is not included and is pretty expensive.
central position in san francisco
location
staff were not vey helpful
The location was perfect, the staff were welcoming and helpful and the share bathroom was always available and very clean.
The lift was out of service and appeared to have been so since November 06! Their breakfast, which I did not have, looked appalling.
The Mosser is a historic hotel in the heart of San Francisco. Tucked between the amazing shopping of Union Square and the busy Moscone Convention Center area, it retains much of its original good looks and charm but has been modernized to offer travelers all of the most desirable amenities and services. The 1913 hotel is just a short walk to the Powell Street BART station and is also convenient to Chinatown and Fisherman’s Wharf. You can visit the Contemporary Jewish Museum, American Conservatory Theater, and Metreon in seconds and hop a cable car for an unforgettable ride.
Of course, you may find all that you require right on the hotel’s premises. After all, it is home to a world-class recording studio that artists often book along with their room. There is valet parking (for a fee), valet laundry services, free use of the nearby Marriott Spa and Fitness Center, free breakfasts in the Keystone Corner Room (the on-site restaurant), and 24-hour front desk, among other services. Visitors will also want to enjoy a drink or meal at the Keystone to savor its delicious local favorites.
Rooms vary from Deluxe rooms to shared bathrooms. All have interesting views of the gardens or city and include truly stylish décor, iPod docking stations, custom and signature furnishings, and artwork, luxury linens, free Wi-Fi, a sitting area, desk, TV and most offer a private bath (though there are shared bath options).
The Mosser lets guests enjoy old world San Francisco like it was more than 100 years ago and yet places them close to the hustle and bustle and excitement of the modern city.
