5.0 Okay
Cons: Host was surly!! Very expensive but probably because it was in a good place. Very ordinary..
6.7 Good
Pros: Location is perfect. Parking just 100-150m away which is just in front of police station. Room small but cozy.
Cons: The staff gives you the feeling to rush out of the place. I asked 2 empty coffee mugs in the morning to have my Nespresso in the room as we love it first. We planned to have the breakfast later anyway. The feeling was coming from funeral. It looks like it was way way way too much asking and when the waiter who was the same employee for the check in the night before asked me if we take breakfast later I totally said a big NO WAY. So I didn’t even ask for a bit of milk in a cup as apparently this employee or owner I don’t know has the capabilities to make you feel bad even with only the way he is staring at you. So for us recommendation for that hotel room yes. But make sure you don’t cross the path of the funeral employee.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location overlooking the port. Well placed for cafés, restaurants, the market, shopping, bike hire; everythingl you need.
Cons: No kettle in the room; not desparate but it would be nice to be able to make tea.
7.5 Good

Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast options were good. Helpful staff who provided useful information on parking and kindly put some drinks in the kitchen fridge for us, as there wasn’t one in the room.
Cons: A fridge in the room would have been good & a safe.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The whole hotel.. Small Dark rooms painted in Gordy orange or lilac. Says it has a lift, but not in use. Shower/bathroom old Gordy curtain for wardrobe. I asked if possible sea view upgrade would be nice, I received an email saying request accepted and confirmed at no extra price, but when we arrived there was no upgrade..

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Friendly helpful staff especially Stefan. Lovely large room in attic. Huge comfy bed, big bathroom, fluffy towels, very quiet. Beautiful buildings, lovely bar with delicious cocktails. The place was more expensive than we'd usually go for but was worth it.
Cons: Parking expensive at 20 euros per day. You have to pay extra to use the spa, it would have been nice to have some free use thrown in.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location and welcome
Cons: Scruffy
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is very good
Cons: The room we were given had no air conditioning and was dark. The bathroom wasn’t really a bathroom but a separate toilet through a door next to the bed and the shower just had a curtain separating it from the bed. It all felt a bit cobbled together. To say it’s a four star hotel our room did not feel like this at all.
7.9 Good
Pros: Quirky but in a nice way.
Cons: WiFi wasn’t great and should be more easy to connect.Room was next to the lift and it was v. noisy on the Friday night.

Les Colonnes - Saint-Martin-de-Ré - Bedroom
6
8.8 Excellent (386 reviews)
₹ 9,463+
Overview Reviews
The Hotel Les Colonnes is located in Saint-Martin-De-Ré, on the Harbour and 800 meters from the nearest beach. All rooms are equipped with bath-toilet and TV. Some rooms at Les Colonnes have a direct view on the Harbour, others look onto the old town. Guests of Les Colonnes can enjoy traditional homemade cuisine in the restaurant, which offers a large terrace overlooking the harbor.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived, my son (who is disabled and a wheelchair user) and I were made to feel welcome. All the staff were courteous, smiling and friendly. The location was perfect on the quayside of a pretty little harbour with plenty of activity going on with fishing and pleasure boats. If you would like a change from eating in the hotel, there was a good choice of excellent restaurants all within a few minutes walking distance.
Cons: Nothing, But for some guests parking could be a difficulty as the Hotel's parking was not connected directly to the hotel. This was not an issue for us as we didn't intend to use the car every day to tour the Ile de Re. However, cars can be parked outside the hotel for a short time to offload or load baggage.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location. Very helpful staff. Very clean, room serviced everyday, clean towels everyday.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was okay, standard French. Location excellent and, considering the many people around, amazingly quiet.
Cons: All okay
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It’s a 2 star hotel, so not luxurious but all the staff were excellent, had secure parking in walking distance of the hotel. Located right by the marina.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A family run hotel on the harbour. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent. The room was not large but met our needs.
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was outstanding!
Cons: Getting the car to the hotel was difficult in a heavily pedestrianised area. Better instructions in the booking is necessary -just phoning ahead to get the code is helpful but parking outside the hotel, in a “No Stopping” zone, amongst hostile pedestrians, is far too nerve wracking. It would be helpful to know in advance if the hotel restaurant is closed. As UK folk, DIY tea/coffee making facilities would be a bonus.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very clean and friendly hotel in a great location on the harbour
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location.
Cons: It was all fine.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel was on the waterfront in the beautiful town of St Martin de Ré. We came on the bus over the bridge from La Rochelle which was good value (5€ each) and quick. Our room in the hotel was quite small and at the back but it served our needs very well. The town was a delight to walk around, especially in the evening when the day trippers had sailed away. We hired bicycles and toured the island which was just magic - dedicated cycle lanes and all flat took us to many of the villages around the island. It was bigger than we thought at first but very manageable
Cons: Quite expensive for a standard room with no breakfast. We would have liked a room facing the harbour but we just took the one we were given without comment. Unfortunately there was no kettle in the room - we like our own tea!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly and very helpful. Clean room. Very comfortable bed. Great shower. Breakfast very good.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
7.0 Good
Pros: We found the hotel friendly, helpful and ideally situated such that I would have no hesitation about returning. The food and wines were excellent.
Cons: Nothing
5.7 Okay
Pros: Basic hotel, but right on the harbour so excellent value.
7.0 Good
Pros: Les Colonnes is a lovely hotel, right in the centre of the St Martin de Re. We had a room with a harbour view, which had a little balcony where you could sit and look at the harbour and busy (mainly pedestrain) street below - great for people watching! Noise from the busy street was not a problem as the window is really soundproof and you can't hear outside once it's shut. No aircon though - so this might not be ideal if it is too hot. In a great location, very clean and comfy. Loved it and wished we were there longer than 2 nights! Quite an epxensive choice for us.Didn't have food from hotel while we were there so can't comment on that.
7.3 Good
Pros: Nice little Hotel, right on the spot. Temperature was around 25C.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Hotel was conveniently situated in the centre of St Martin. Staff were friendly and room was adequate.
Cons: It was beyond the control of the hotel obviously, but each evening our sleep was disturbed between 1 and 2 am when very noisy people were going home - from night club? - considerable shouting and yelling took place.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The continental breakfast was good and the garden is particularly tranquil to sit in and enjoy a drink. The hotel is very convenient being only a few minutes walk to the centre of St Martin. The staff were very helpful and friendly with nothing being too much trouble.
Cons: The only issue we had was unloading/loading the car by the hotel entrance which opened onto a narrow one way street. This meant blocking the whole road. Given the hotel position and the nature of St Martin, this could not be avoided.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really nice and helpful. The whole house is absolutely adorable. Breakfast was delicious!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything- lovely location, stylish rooms, beautiful garden, friendly staff
Cons: Nothing except the room was warm, maybe a fan could have been heloful

Pros: Charming staff, excellent location in beautiful St Martin. Calm and peaceful.
Cons: Parking garage a bit of a walk but ok if you are not using car regularly .
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was lovely, the style, the garden.Someone had huge flair in designing the hotel.
Cons: The bathroom was awful. There was a huge reluctance to give anything extra, towels, pillows

Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is in the perfect location just a few minutes away from the centre, but far enough away to not be bothered by the crowds. Lovely hotel with beautiful pool. Unfortunately the alarm sounds every time someone enters it - which can be a little irritating at first. You do get used to it though. Excellent breakfast!
Cons: Pool alarm!!!

7.0 Good
Pros: A quirky and very French Hotel on the Quayside. Full of history and literally yards from the sea and in the old town with many restaurants. Note things quieten down in October, much different from the bustling summer months.
Cons: Paling near the hotel was €15 a day, a truffle expensive but this was charged by the town not the hotel.
7.9 Good
Pros: If you are interested in nice little things such as brocante (antiques, bric à brac), you will find this place very amusing and inspiring. Many things are placed in a rather crammed way, but it is altogether giving the warm atmosphere. Beware, as there is no lift to top floor ! It is very helpful for us that they didn’t have fixed time for the breakfast, so we had it rather late every morning in a very spacious high ceiling room. So it was only us which l found it very relaxing and being spoilt ! The freshly squeezed fruit juice tasted delicious. The bathroom was well equipped with bathtub, slippers, bathrobes ( but no body lotion ). Quite nicely renovated with good old days’ touch. Wifi connection was excellent ! Many restaurants are nearby, and L’Avant Port recommended by the owner’s daughter was great ! It is really in the heart of St-Martin-de-Ré facing the port and the sea (from our room), so ideal for the short stay to make most of this charming town.
Cons: I know it is still to do with high season, but thought the breakfast could be bit more sufficient by adding some choice of eggs or cheese, considered the price we had to pay. Some furniture were wobbly or slightly not in order ( difficult to close etc), but it all depends how we see them....as the charm of the old stuff, or inconvenience.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, weather, recommended restaurant, general help
Cons: Self serve breakfast would be much quicker Self serve bar in the living room would be excellent for a beer or wine A few doorknobs etc could be repaired. Italian style or separate shower instead of shower / bath - much safer for us old guests.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The house has great character. Breakfasts were superb.
Cons: Lack of car parking facilities (but we understand the difficulties). Coffee/Tea - making facilities in the room would have been good.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Attention to detail in the building overall and especially the room was exceptional. Very eclectic/French decor which suits the building and the location - which was fantastic. View from our room was amazing - over trees and on to the sea. Owners are very friendly and approachable.
Cons: Shower head was broken - not a huge issue. Breakfast was lovely but a bit too much emphasis on bread!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Host family was amazing! Beautiful location and service, and the breakfast was excellent. Our room was so picturesque.
Cons: Really can't think of something I would have asked for to make the experience better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A charming family run hotel run by lovely people, full of character and interest. Beautiful log fire, warm and cosy. Comfortable beds a very special place!.

Pros: Everything
Cons: Breakfast buffet could have been more varied
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ambiance at the hotel is terrific. It was quiet, sophisticated and chic.
Cons: It was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An absolutely beautiful place, providing calm and privacy in the centre of a busy little town, with a green oasis of a garden and a pool to soothe and cool on the hottest days. With its small number of rooms it never felt crowded, though a no smoking policy would have been appreciated!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel in a perfect location near the centre of town
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location near the centre of St martin. Boutique feel - just 9 rooms. Quiet and peaceful. Lovely gardens. Attentive and caring staff. Highly recommend
Cons: Well, I suppose the charge of breakfast of €18 for coffee and pastries only - would be lovely to have a little more choice in that price, eg fruit
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Feel that for what we paid the breakfast should have ben included. Thee various options made it a bit confusing to decide. Why not have in all in which I believe makes the Client feel more coseted.
Cons: We were fortunate that our room, which had an interleading door was only occupied for one night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Villa Clarisse is an absolute GEM. The facilities, pool, garden, rooms and breakfast are all excellent, the Staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful and it is a stones throw from the port and centre of St Martin
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location great. Nice room and big bathroom with bath and walk-in shower, all good.
Cons: I think given the cost of the room, breakfast should be included, not an add-on at extra cost. Also many properties of this type now have a Nespresso machine in the room. When we asked we were brought a kettle and some instant coffee and ordering decent coffee was an additional cost. These may sound like little things but they do end up becoming a big annoyance when you add them together.

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and a vending machine. Free self parking is available onsite.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: We had book the accomodation for 2 nights but left after the first night as the room was so uncomfortable and hot, and unhygienic. We asked if we could cancel our second night minutes after we saw our room for the first time. The staff gave us no options as the hotel was full, so they could not offer a change of room, and they could not cancel our second night as we had booked on line! Therefore we ended up paying for a second which we did not use!
Cons: The hotel although called Premiere Classe was infact second class. The room was very small, had no air con or extraction system for ventilation in the bathroom. The room had 1 small window which we were unable to open as it overlooked a shared balcony which would have allowed access to anyone. The room was so small it only contained a bed, 1 bedside table and a small desk. There was what appeared to be marks on the wall from someone either urinating or vomiting on the wall.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Staff friendly and the room was clean. Cell style rooms like F1 hotels.
Cons: Location is on a commercial estate 8 miles from the city centre so you need to drive if you want some food, or to see the sites.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The receptionist
Cons: Our window looked over a work area full of laundry bags, and it was dirty. The shower spilt water all over the bathroom floor. The power outlets were in the wrong place. The price was way too high for the amenity offered.
7.1 Good
Cons: I arranged to arrive early when I arrived. Nobody was there and couldn't book in. Was not happy had to change my schedule and return later. Not good. Maybe I could have a refund? Also breakfast was in another hotel. A bad experience.
7.5 Good
Pros: Quiet room, clean facilities, easy location to travel to
Cons: Breakfast was disappointing, and not worth the money paid. No elevator made bringing luggage up two floors a difficult task. Staff was cleaning the lobby in the morning and were unfriendly about dirty shoes (I left shoes outside the door to avoid confrontation)
7.9 Good
Pros: Ease of booking, automated check-in system, affordable accomodation
6.3 Good
Pros: not a lot
Cons: breakfast very poor. not a lot of room , nosiy

Pros: We had a problem finding the hotel as the main address given on the reservation note when put into the satnav took us to the centre of a residential area and we had to telephone the hotel, even though we were not far from it, but a we didnt know the area we would not have found it by oursselves. Pros: Staff were good nice breakfast.
Cons: Staff were absolutely lovely but there were some minor problems like inadequate wifi and no tv, but the main problem is that there was no heating, we asked for a heater on the 1st night, we didn't get one. The next day was colder and wet, we got soaked and when we asked again for a heater we were told that there was none left. I asked for the manager and my request was refused as they were not in. In my view, asking for a warm room shouldn't be ignored, I do not recommend anyone stay here in winter.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and cleanliness including spacious and lovely staff
Cons: There was a shortage of warm food at breakfast, none actually left at 9am!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: What we paid and what we got was very good value . Loved the location, bath robes, white company products, comfy bed and decor.
Cons: There was a roughness to the finish of the hotel, though at the price we paid to be expected. for the full price advertised i would say that it is a work in progress.
7.0 Good
Cons: Hotel was under refurbishment so no restaurant or bar facilities.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The room was large and the bed was comfortable. The hotel was in a good location.
Cons: There was no Internet on our floor. This was a known ongoing problem. Our bath leaked water all over the floor. The hair dryer was hanging off the wall. This 5 star hotel had closed its bar and restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Residence de France is a beautiful hotel. A perfect picture of comfort and luxury.Clearly an age old institution, the place feels authentic through and through.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Very dirty, moldy, obsolescent hotel, particularly the bathroom was filthy, the towels were grey, the furniture dated and in poor condition, the carpet all consumed with holes, the service inexistent, it is incredible, how it got 5 stars? This is worth only a star, to be very generous....Absolutely to avoid!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, easy to find, and with really good parking. The public spaces were really nice and in season, I expect the pool would be good. The bed was probably the most comfortable that I’ve slept in, and the toiletries were fab. The breakfast was the best I’ve had in a hotel, both choice and quality were excellent. The staff were polite and helpful.
Cons: It was very disappointing that the bar was shut. I knew the pool would be shut in mid December but expected the bar to be open. In some places the decor was a little shabby eg the material the arm of one of the chairs in our room was fraying. Our room was mostly clean but there was a limescale ring around the sink plughole in our bathroom and a little patch of black mould at the bath. Both could have been easily dealt with.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The location is good
Cons: The stff are rude and that hotel deserves 3 stars definitely not 5 stars The breakfast was really basic .
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quaint
Cons: Parking underground is very cramped

7.0 Good
Pros: A quirky and very French Hotel on the Quayside.

Pros: Very clean ... great communication.. great location... nice big shower room!
Cons: These are not complaints but the downside of great location is that if you’re not out partying till the early hours you will hear any revellers that are ...Hey ho! Personally I would like a kettle... there is a coffee machine but I prefer tea in the morning!
