Sado hotels

Pros: It is new. The room was large, quiet, and comfortable. There were ample power sockets. There are a few restaurants nearby as well as a supermarket.

Cons: It wasn't an issue for us as we had a car, but if you didn't have a car it would be a tad inconvenient.

Pros: At the beginning, the front desk staff gave us the wrong timetable of bus to the gold mine, therefore we will the bus. We were very angry at that time, when we back to hotel. They did a good job to fix it. The front desk girl I cannot remember her name but I am sure the name start with "k" gave us an apology immediately and told her manager. They asked bus station and found it out. The bus timetable they gave us is for weekend! Then they upgrade our room and gave us two bf. The room is spacious and clean. The bf is wonderful. They did a great recovery for the mistake. The manager even gave us a letter to say sorry. Thanks for the front desk girl and manager! We did enjoy this time of stay. Close area had a lot restaurants and a big supermarket.

Cons: The bus in sado island is poor. Very hard to get bus to travel around. Only one bus is close to the hotel. And if you miss one you have to wait for an hour. Not convenient!

Pros: Rooms are big and good location

Cons: The clothes dryer was 100 yen for 15 mins when most other places would charge 100 yen for 30 mins

Pros: Rooms super well equipped (so many ports and hooks for hanging things), spacious (even bathroom is pretty spacious). Staff are so incredibly friendly! We got to watch the Oni Taiko performance in the lobby our first day, and I borrowed the hotel bike for a short spin on the second day. It’s near a bus stop and eateries of all kinds, plus 24 hour convenience store right next door. Highly recommended!

Pros: Staff were very helpful, room was very nicely designed and maintained and the shared baths were also amazing!! Great value for money.

Pros: Bi-lingual personnel, coin operated washers/dryers that worked in a flash, a communal hot spring bath in addition to your private bath and to top it off, an over the moon breakfast buffet!

Cons: The only thing was that the nice comfortable pjs were synthetic nylon.

Pros: The Public bath was larger and not as hot as in some other hotels, which we really enjoyed. The location is convenient close to supermarket and restaurants. The beaches however are quite far. Some of the staff speak good English and they are also patient enough to listen to foreigners speaking Japanese.

Cons: Breakfast was good, however it could have finnished a little bit later for those who would like to sleep in.

Pros: Easy and cheap. The large bath was nice and not crowded.

Cons: The breakfast was ok, but it doesn't worth the 1100 yen we paid for.

Pros: Has restaurant and onsen onsite which was good.

Pros: There are toilets inside the rooms, and the rooms are really nice Japanese-style rooms. Mine had a view of the lake, and one night I could watch fireworks being held in town and reflecting on the lake from my balcony. My room was also nice and quiet, and I was provided with free tea and Japanese snacks, in addition to a nice Japanese-style breakfast for which I had to pay a little extra (but that was totally worth it). Also, the place has good Air Conditioning, which is absolutely essential in Summer. As for Sado Island as a whole, I can only recommend it. It has beautiful nature and many cultural places such as Temples and Shrines. I was only there for 2 nights, which is definitely too short to explore all of the island. I would recommend a stay of at least 4 nights to see all the sights, possibly a week if you want to be more relaxed about it.

Cons: There was no shower in my room, and the WiFi was easily the worst I've ever experienced in a place that advertised free WiFi. The signal strength was so low that my laptop could only just receive it, and my mobile phone was usually better off using paid mobile data. This place could really do with some extra repeaters. It's also a bit out of the way, and there aren't any good places to get food from nearby apart from a HottoMotto Bento Shop. All things considered I feel it's a bit too expensive for what you get in return.

Pros: Lovely onsen with perfect water temperature. Generous Japanese breakfast. Friendly staff who put themselves out to help you.

Pros: Breakfast was great, a good selection of Japanese dishes with some Western favourites too. Recommended! The hotel staff helped us bring our luggage in too, which was much appreciated, some steps from the lobby to the elevator. We were travelling with a baby so had our hands full (and not travelling as light as I’m used to).

Cons: Not very appealing view of an industrial yard outside of our room. Not a big deal, but we wished it was more scenic.

Pros: It’s close to the Sado ferry terminal. The price is descent. Breakfast was Japanese style. Not bad.

Cons: The shower water clog. One of the bed have a small bug. Probably flew in while we open the door. The bathroom has nothing to put clothes or towels. Very inconvenient.

Pros: Staff very very friendly and helpful. They helped me with my laundry and offered a big bag of candies to my kid.

Cons: A bit far from the touristic spots

Pros: The property is located next to the lake and thus very serene.

Cons: For onsen hotel, normally the rate is half board - including one breakfast and one dinner. But your room rate does not even include breakfast. The onsen area is very old and only one pool. Very poor comparing to other onsen hotels we had visited before.

Pros: Within close walking distance to restaurants and convenience store. Quaint small town atmosphere. Local bus stop about 5 min. walk to hotel.

Pros: The location is very convenient!, quite close to port and the lake Kamo view is so lovely in the morning. The private onsen is really nice as well, the staff are really friendly and down to earth. Really recommend to people who want to visit Sado Island.

Cons: would be lovely if breakfast is included with the room =)

Pros: The food was great and staff was very helpful.

Cons: The hotel looked old and needed a renovation but things were clean and tge staff was helpful.

Pros: The owner/caretaker was very friendly. The view from my room was great. Best of all, dinner and breakfast were fantastic.

Pros: Food! Amazing seafood. This is the reason to come here. Room was perfect. View was spectacular. Onsen is small but nice enough. Good quality place.
