When to visit Prague
Looking for warm weather? Then head to Prague in July, when the average temperature is 17 °C, and the highest can go up to 22 °C. The coldest month, on the other hand, is January, when it can get as cold as -4 °C, with an average temperature of -1 °C. You’re likely to see more rain in June, when precipitation is around 60 mm. In contrast, February is usually the driest month of the year in Prague, with an average rainfall of 10 mm.
How to Get to Prague
Plane
When flying to Prague, you’ll arrive at Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG), which is located 11 km from the city centre. The shortest flight to Prague from India departs from Mumbai and takes around 11h.
Train
Regiojet is the most popular train carrier serving Prague, followed by ÖBB. The train journey from Prague to Ostrava takes 3h 10m and costs around ₹ 1,168 for a one-way ticket. When coming by train from Vienna, expect to pay about ₹ 1,168 for a 3h 58m trip. Located 1.4 km from the city centre, Prague Hlavní is the busiest station in Prague. Another popular train station is Prague Libeň, located 6 km from the centre.
Bus
Several bus lines operate bus routes to Prague, including FlixBus, Regiojet and STUDENT AGENCY. From Brno, the bus ride to Prague takes 241 km and will cost you around ₹ 2,753. From Vienna, the ticket costs about ₹ 2,336 for a journey of 378 km. The most popular bus station is Prague Florenc ÚAN, located 1.6 km from the city centre of Prague. Prague Na Knížecí is also a commonly used station, and is 2.6 km from the city centre.
