Pros: Beautiful location overlooking the loch. Immaculate bedroom, lounge and breakfast room. Very friendly hosts.Excellent breakfast.
Cons: It was difficult to get anything to eat in Portree. The restaurants were all fully booked.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Barbara is a very special lady that looks after your every need. We enjoyed our stay SO much and would highly recommend a stay here. From the flowers and home baked goodies left in the room to the extra pancakes that just appear at breakfast. The views are jaw dropping and change constantly. Its so serene and relaxing. Thanks so much!!
Cons: Absolutely nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: By far the BEST B&B we have ever stayed in our travels. Our room was very large, clean and comfortable. The view from our room was amazing. Looked out across the loch to the town of Portree. The lounge room was on the upper floor with full windows and door to the balcony overlooking the loch. Outside were swings and benches to enjoy the views feet from the water. Breakfast excellent and proprietors were so nice. We highly recommend!
Cons: There was nothing we didn't like
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful location outside of Portree right on the water. Spectacular view. Extremely helpful and pleasant owners. Great food. Loved staying at this place!
Cons: Finding it was a little tricky. Roads are a bit challenging if you are not used to them. Once you know where you are going it's no problem.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It's a beautiful B&B with fantastic views of Portree across the water and of the Old Man of Storr behind. The B&B itself is beautifully renovated and very comfortable. They have a common area living room with recliners with the views across the water. Barbara and Donald were excellent hosts. They even offered to drive us into town for dinner allowing us to take a cab back rather than drive ourselves. They were always ready and willing to help. If you're lucky you'll see the neighborhood otter come up on the little dock in front in the evening. I would stay here again.
Cons: The one small drawback was the 3 miles to drive in to Portree to have dinner. Small country road coming and going but okay once you got used to it.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is fabulous, setting is right on the water, which you face from your window. The house was built in the Scottish style and has a lovely dining room and sitting room which offers incredible views. The food was plentiful with a nice variety on the menu. It was also delicious and tastefully plated and served. The hosts were friendly, helpful and delightful. The room and en-suite were well designed, nicely decorated and roomy.
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like. Through no fault of the hosts, the road off the highway is a bit tricky your first time through. But when you get to Heatherfield House, you’ll say, “Well worth it!”
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning b n b fabulous location and amazing hosts so friendly. I have never slept so well away from home as I did the two nights I spent here. Can not recommend highly enough top top top notch

Cons: Flawless
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Cozy rooms, lovely Hosts and good breakfast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was very clean with a great shower, plenty of towels and hot water and a very comfortable bed, duvet and pillows. You definitely need a car to get here and obviously there is plenty of space to park. There is independent heating so the room is very comfortable indeed. The only things I would point out are that when the room next door is using the bathroom there is a very loud irritating buzz ( in room 3) which, in our case went on for a very long time in the evening and again at 7am. Secondly, and I think this is a common problem with b&bs, breakfast and check out are just too early. We are on holiday and really don't want to have to be up for breakfast by 8.45 ( which I didn't know) and out of the hotel by 10. We didn't wake up until 8.50 after being woken up by our neighbours' buzzing bathroom at 7am so we didn't even try to get up quickly and have breakfast because it would have meant rushing about too much. Missing breakfast was a bit of a pain and made the guesthouse less value for money than we planned. So if you like a lie in the mornings opt for hotels as they generally have a later check out and breakfast policy, for everyone else it's great!

6.7 Good
Pros: Amazing view and staff were excellent. Food and the restaurant along with the location were excellent!
Cons: We were a bit disappointed by our room, water pressure was really jumpy and the tv had no reception. The view from the room wasn’t great either as we were at the back of the hotel and there was no bath. All in all overpriced for the room but we had a nice stay.

Pros: A real Scottish house from 1760 with the most better breakfast in Scotland

Pros: Very friendly welcome and hospitality. Excellent quiet location for the north and west of Skye. Lovely old house with artistic feel and antique furniture. Very comfortable beds. Victorian bath with great drench shower. Vegetarian breakfast wonderful. You must try the cranachan! Good coffee.

Pros: Breakfast is a true masterpiece! Cranachan is a must. Nicely decorated rooms and a very friendly and helpful owners.
Cons: Everything was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clachamish House is in a beautiful location. The attention to detail in the house is fantastic. The rooms are stunning and incredibly comfortable. We had a wonderful time. Evelyn is a great host: her breakfasts were amazing! You would need a car to get to the house and to get around Skye in general but the property has parking. Overall an amazing trip - can't wait to return!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Robin gave lots of information on the area. The breakfast was original and very tasty.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at the lovely Clachamish House! The owners have created an eclectic, yet homey getaway off the beaten path on Skye. Breakfasts were amazingly delicious and well cooked. The owners, Robyn and Evelyn, could not have been nicer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and personal reccomandations for a good Isle of Skye experience.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Traditional homemade Scottish dishes for breakfast with friendly hosts
Cons: Nothing! It was enjoyable, comfortable and recommend
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Even if I am not a vegetarian, I really liked the breakfast. People have the choice between various dishes, and one of the options will be the right choice anyway. The B&B has a very individual and unique style. The hosts are a very friendly and a very obliging couple with a good sense of humor. You don't have to plan your stay in detail. If you just have an idea of what you like Robbin will find the perfect recommendation for you. He knows Isle of Sky very well and he has a good sense for the differnt people who are visting his place. For us it was a very nice experience to feel the friendlines of the hosts and the scottish people. The B&B is a very old house but reconstructed in a nice and historic way. Its made for people who like it more to be surrunded by nice little things than with a modern stylish and cool setting. The B&B fits perfect to the Isle of Sky. We loved it very much to stay there.
Cons: We had nothing to complain about. If people stay in an old house they have to accept that it is old.

Cons: Nothing to dislike.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: - Beautiful property is surrounded by vast grasslands. - Gorgeous and spacious room - Fantastic Shower - Amazing breakfast - Lounge with fantastic views of the ocean
Cons: - The rooms were constructed a long time ago and had some broken locks/hinges - Floor is creaky - Overall upkeep of the room area can improve
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was awesome. Although, I think without a GPS it would have been difficult to find. It's a bit off the beaten path but well worth it. The view and the staff are awesome.
Cons: Only negative was the 'shower' in our room. We were on the top floor of the house and as such the sloped roof cut in to the bathroom. The shower was not one you could actually stand in. Made it quite fun as I am over 6 feet tall.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, great room and unbelievable food
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. Evening meal was good too. Room was small bu adequate though partner did bang head on sloping roof. Loved the Chinese pheasants and rabbits.
Cons: No WiFi available in room had to go downstairs for it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: They liked everything
Cons: Great wee gem. Had my guest booked in for 1 night. They were beginning to wonder where I was taken them as the road to the hotel is full of potholes . They loved the hotel and did not stop speaking about it all day.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful hotel and garden, bird, sea
Cons: No lift Location to find difficult
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The views of the Loch, the surrounding farmland, the garden: gorgeous! Plus they have very comfortable public rooms including a bar, a fire-place in the large living room, complete with a chess board and leather couches, a billiard room and a terrific restaurant. There are golden pheasants on the property...absolutely amazing to watch them. This is truly a GEM of a place. And the staff. Charming, kind, and attentive. I miss it already.
Cons: Not one thing.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Terrible bathroom Interior design was chap and didn’t enhance building or history Terrible food Seemed understaffed We got lost and u would not answer phone
Cons: We lined the original building and setting
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything is great. Really cozy place. Helpful and well-mannered staff!
Cons: WiFi not available in the room. We told the staff about it but still cannot link it.
6.7 Good
Cons: They try hard to be a luxury hotel... and fail miserably. The whole styling seems overdone while the service is more than mediocre. Everything is totally impersonal and as guest you don’t feel in any way special or at least welcomed. We have been to another house of the same hotel group (Duisdale) and it was even worse there. It took me four mails so get a reply on the simple request for a twin bed. A martin cocktail took them 45min. Some scrambled eggs for breakfast took them the same effort. No one cared about the orange juice on the buffet had run out etc. etc. Food is expensive but nothing special. By far the worst experience on our whole trip through Scotland in particular if you look at the quality-price-ratio.
5.4 Okay
Cons: A bit run down in places. Bathroom was redone modern while room was antique...bathroom was very groovy and hip, but impractical.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food is awesome and the staff is very accommodating
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant with excellent meals, a wide room, an extraordinary comfy bed and an enormous open-space shower cabin.
Cons: No cellphone signal with scarce wifi coverage
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building. Very pleasant staff. Excellent food. No complaints.
7.1 Good
Pros: Away from the hordes of tourists that descend on Skye. Tranquil and with lovely views. Good location which allowed easy access to the various points of interest. The fact the property is in its own grounds is lovely and makes parking easy. The staff there are super helpful and nothing seemed to be too much bother at all.
Cons: For the price, our room was very small and nondescript....although it did have a good shower. It also had a small veranda with views on to the bay...not very private but a nice touch. There is no official room service offering...you have to follow the normal breakfast, lunch and dinner timelines...but they were very helpful when we just wanted a sandwich for dinner. The hotel is a little tired in terms of decor but the rooms to sit and enjoy a drink are nice. Continental breakfast wasn’t particularly inspiring but a good list of cooked breakfasts was available. Still felt very overpriced but I guess the joys of supply and demand in the busy holiday period.
6.5 Good
Pros: Locals drinking in the bar made the evening more enjoyable.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly welcome. Fire in the lounge area. Excellent size bathroom with walk-in rain shower. The lady Piper at Dinner. Our Breakfast was delightful, good quality with plenty of choice...although limited on gluten and lactose free. The Vegetarian cooked breakfast was excellent. A pleasant breakfast room and a well appointed dining room.
Cons: The evening dining experience. The dinner menu was limited in terms of shell fish; the only Lobster dish was made with cheese which we don`t eat. The green soup was a disaster...it certainly was not vegetable soup! We had been served our starter before the aperitif arrived....lack of attention to detail.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Newly renovated room
Cons: No fresh fruit for breakfast. Rate was high but we booked at the last minute cause our other reservation was canceled by the hotel due to afire.
7.3 Good
Pros: The quality of the room furnishings and the character of the building.
7.3 Good
Pros: Its a very beautiful old building with a nice fireplace and beautiful huge rooms. One of the nicest hotels I have ever been to. Its very good value for money.
6.8 Good
Pros: original room unsatisfactory we were upgraded to honeymoon suite after complaint
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the amazing bedroom & gorgeous huge bathroom. The friendliness of the staff also helped to make it a lovely relaxing break for us.
Cons: We were disappointed with the standard of the dinner although the breakfasts were great.
5.7 Okay
Pros: the countryside and nice view from my room.the staff was very helpful and very very polite.
Cons: I was not really impressed with the food. The portion was very small and for the price I was charged I think around £17 I felt a bit ripped off.I have been cooking in restaurants for over 10 year and I know people don`t mind to pay as long the food is good and the portions are reasonable.
5.6 Okay
Pros: Friendly and polite staff and beautiful location
Cons:
6.8 Good
Pros: The grounds were amazing -
Cons: the standard room decor was a bit dated, but the surroundings made up for that.
7.6 Good

Cons:
6.8 Good

5.4 Okay
Pros: Stunning view is the only asset the property has
Cons: Description of spacious and price must be relative to other properties in Skye - we found it cramped and over priced compared to other places - it was just a bed in a room, the black out blind didn’t fit so we had street light flooding the room all night

Pros: The location is stunning, perfect for both easy and challenging hikes. The staff at both the hotel and the bar are extremely nice and welcoming, creating a lovely atmosphere. The selection of whisky is mind boggling, and they even run their own brewery offering some interesting ales. Breakfast included with the room is one of best hotel breakfasts I had, and food overall is extremely delicious. A fantastic place to stay, I will be coming back.

2.5 Mediocre
Cons: Unfortunately, this stay was awful. I've never left a bad review here before, typically all 9s and 10s but was so uncomfortable I can't give a positive score. I stay in a wide variety of hotels regularly and never have complained before about settling the bill, however for nearly £200 for the room, to have the large kitchen/ cellar extractor fan outside your bedroom wall making a racket all through the night, the staff using it as their smoking area so even though the room was sweltering, if you open the window, the room fills with smoke and the smell of the kitchen. As it's the smoking area, it is disgusting outside, littered with rubbish and cigarette ends. I let reception know and showed the manager the pictures and if the matter had been dealt with, id never have left a review as I think it's fair to raise a complaint and let the hotel resolve it for you professionally. The manager was brusque, not very apologetic about it and just said they didn't say the room had a sea view. My complaint was, it was really noisy with their kitchen/ cellar fan outside on the bedroom wall so couldn't sleep (Not good when paying for a room to sleep in), room too hot, yet you couldn't open the window as it was the staff smoking spot. No view was no issue, the smoke, staff chatting on steps and constant fan noise was. The fact it looked disgusting and I showed this on the pictures wasn't ideal and I was really surprised she wasn't at all embarrassed by this. She said 15 percent off was the best they could do - £165 for a night in a room of that calibre is very poor quality. Everywhere else we stayed in Skye was of a significantly better standard and service. We booked it as we had stayed there previously and loved our sea view room and had no reason to complain. Dont stay in room 12 and I do hope you do not have cause to complain, as it doesn't seem to be dealt with well at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the property was perfect. The room (premiere king with a harbor view) was very large and the bathroom was spectacular, with fantastic toiletries from the Highland Soap Company. The staff was wonderful...particularly a young woman originally from Italy who helped us with a dining reservation at the Chargrill, which was absolutely delicious. The breakfast was terrific. And miraculously we had no problem parking right in front of the hotel. The room was well appointed...comfortable bed, smart furnishings and attractive decor. We could hear no one else in any other room. It was perfect for a honeymoon getaway. My husband and I would gladly stay there again.
Cons: I wish we had more of a view of the water than the street. For a while we could smell something unpleasant in the room. However, we informed reception and maintenance looked into it and the issue went away.
7.1 Good
Pros: Room looked inviting. Bar was lively with a good range of drinks. Staff helped me with some photocopying.
Cons: Coffee wasn't very good. Room wasn't made up very well on one night, bed still looked rumpled.
5.8 Okay
Pros: meal in the restaurant was top notch - loved the food , breakfast was fine apart from the porridge which was very disappointing . Staff were friendly and helpful . Great choices of whisky in the Merchant Bar
Cons: Room very small but clean . Small bed and very small bathroom and shower but good water flow . Coffee machine couldn't get it to work - looked like a look alike nespresso but who knows . Need to be able bodied as no lift to rooms
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and the facilities were fantastic and a great location.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Very clean and calm. Great breakfast. Kind staff. Very good food in the hotel’s restaurant.
Cons: A little bit overpriced, probably due to the high demand and few accommodation offers.

Pros: Central location, more small rooms, so not crowded. Large kitchen and common area.
Cons: Pricey breakfast offer (same thing cost 4,5 GBP in Durness YH). Small own parking, you can use free city parking next to hostel, but that can get full.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location being so close to bus station and eating places. Loved the view over the inlet from the lounge. Loved the cosy hostel feel and friendliness. The breakfast was normal continental, just what I have at home and I didn’t bother about any cooking. The staff were very helpful with information. The room was snug and warm when I arrived on a very cold day. Appreciated the tea-making facilities in my room.
Cons: A softer pillow would have been nice. Luckily I always travel with a little blow-up pillow.

Pros: Good value. And available when I want s to book!
Cons: A) the beds are too short for people over 6 foot tall. It is very uncomfortable to cram into a bed that has hard head and foot boards and not enough space B) unfortunately in one of the rooms we shared with visitors who wanted the temperature very warm which we found uncomfortable. A hazard of hostels.

6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast staff were cheerful and committed, Reception staff were eager to put things right, when complaints made. Location central to town. Food good.
Cons: The toilet was not soundly fitted, the bathroom was extremely small and the door hit you if you were at the sink and someone came in. There was only enough tea and coffee for one cup each. On checking in we asked about the restaurant and were told the timings, on returning to eat, we were told they were fully booked and turned away. It was only after walking around Portree, looking for an alternative, in the rain that we returned and my wife complained to the reception staff that a table was made available. There seemed a lack of communication between the waiting staff, which lengthened service times. The bar verged on hostile with constantly changing loud music and loud, swearing patrons, would not recommend for a family visit.

Pros: Porridge was good first morning and second , not so good third morning Well looked after by senior staff member there day1and day2.
Cons: My evening meal was agreat disappointment-haddock dry under dry batter, chips like Macdonalds French fries tasteless , mushy peas ,tasteless from a tin. My companions macaroni cheese was also from a tin which could have easily been improved with some added cheese and sauce . Service was indifferent .
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic staff, beautiful bedroom area, convienent location.
Cons: It was very disappointing that the bathroom was a little bit tired looking, old and dated for the price.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect; very central and easy to find. Breakfast was great.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location was great and so was the view.
Cons: If you pay 220 gbp you expect a fairly upscale hotel this is not that They are merely charging this amount as there is such a shortage of accommodation on the Isle of skye. Breakfast was a disappointment eggs were like rubber coffee was weak and thin.
