I reserved an SUV and when I got there they tried to give me a van I insisted on the SUV and within 3 minutes they went and got an SUV. They (counter employee) charged my credit card $250 as a deposit, I returned the car yesterday and haven’t seen my credit for $250Reviewed 21 Apr 2023

There wasn’t a person at the Payless pick up window. There wasn’t a sign saying go to Avis. I stood there wondering if someone was going to come to the counter, if I needed to call someone or what. Eventually someone at a different counter told me to go to Avis. Everything was excellent after that. The customer service was amazing to pick up and drop off process was very easy and simple.Reviewed 20 Mar 2022

Older car. Back-up camera didn’t work. Couldn’t call airport desk and kept getting a call center who couldn’t answer my question about early drop and said I couldn’t drop early but when I got to airport at 5am I was able to park it and a person was there in the garage who accepted it. Military cut my orders short and I wasn’t able to receive a pro-rated rental.Reviewed 15 Nov 2021

Pros:Staff was friendly when we got to them, but note that in San Antonio, Payless doesn't have their own staff. They use AVIS staff.Cons:The wait to get the vehicle was ridiculous, it was unclear at first that we had to go to the Avis counter because there was NO ONE at the Payless counter.Reviewed 27 Apr 2021
