For example, if you plan on catching a Spurs game live at the AT&T Center, you could spend 30 minutes on public transport getting there from downtown or you could drive there in 15 minutes. Chances are your hotel will not be directly downtown, so if you plan on visiting the River Walk or the Alamo, you will probably need a car to get to them.
  • Visitors to San Antonio will be happy to hear that rush hour is not nearly as severe as it is in Dallas or Houston. The signs in the terminal could be clearer regarding where the rental car center is located. It directs you to take an escalator downstairs one level below baggage claim, but then the signs only say “parking garage”. You have to take the parking garage elevator up to the third floor and then cross a sky bridge to the Rental Car Center.

The service provided by Hertz at DeZavala was great. They need to revise their website so the driver understands that if they choose option of Hertz to pick the vehicle, that could mean you are stuck with an electric one plus they should indicate the amount of the deposit & the total cost. I feel like they do a bait and switch tactic. This is corporate’s fault (and choice) & nothing to do with the team at the DeZavala Center. They were great

Hertz location on the reservation was permanently closed. There was a sign on the door directing us to another location, so we went there. That place was closed too. Had to go to a third Hertz location to pick up our car. Took 3 hours total. Tried calling Hertz but nobody on the phone knew what was going on, didn't know anything about the closed locations.

All Bad, never got car, Hertz overbooked had no cars available when I went to pick up car reservation. Hertz said they were 70 cars short when I got to Airport for car pickup. How does this happen, should be illegal! This totally ruined our vacation plans. Never again with Hertz or Kayak!

Car was very good condition. I noticed as I was leaving that the gas had not been topped off, and later I noticed it had nit been cleaned, kept finding sunflower seeds in the vehicle. I brought this to the attention of the gentleman who checked my car back in, and he made it right. I also got a follow up call within the hour from a manager. All in all a very positive car rental experience. I would definitely rent from Alamo again.

Received a price from kayak and booked the car. On my way to pick up the car, I called to confirm the price etc, I was told there would be a 30 cents a mile charge for the one way trip not mentioned on the website booking. It more than doubled the cost of the rental so I did not pick up the car.

I liked that they were open at one in the morning. I HATED that they basically forced me to take an electric car. The man at the counter said I was lucky AVIS would rent to me at one in the morning and I could take it or leave it. I did NOT reserve electric. I was told I needed to return it fully charged or pay $35 penalty - where on earth was I supposed to do that with a flight the next day early? Terrible, terrible experience.
