The White Rose Hotel provides 18 en-suite bedrooms in clean, friendly and comfortable surroundings, since it's reopening in April there have been some major modifications and the remainder of the year will see more coming. The establishment is set at the gateway to the Yorkshire dales (15 min drive) just 2 miles or so outside of Bedale. The A1 motorway providing easy access to the cities of York, Durham and Newcastle is only a mile or so from the hotel making us an ideal location for stopovers on longer drives.
Each room provides free wifi, tea/coffee, biscuits and complimentary toiletries, with flat screen TVs and access to an Iron should you need it. We have an extensive range for children, including travel cots, baby monitors, jumperoos, mamma roo rocking chairs, high chairs, toys, books, board games, Lego and games consoles all of which can be requested and reserved subjects availability with your booking. Locally the area offers lots to see and do, there are numerous walks, hikes and bike rides along with more family friendly activities such as Big sheep Little cow farm, Aerial Extreme for high wire adventure or if thrill seeking is your thing Lightwater valley is around a 20 minute drive away (ask at reception for discount vouchers off on the gate prices)
For more relaxed activities there are some fabulous little market towns to visit including Thirsk, Catterick, Bedale, Masham and Northallerton where you might catch a farmers market, discover little boutiques and antique shops or visit one of the auction houses. You might like to take a trip to Betty's cafe tea rooms in Northallerton for afternoon tea.
Back at the hotel you can sample food from our restaraunt or you can enjoy some hearty pub grub in our comfortable pub surroundings in front of the fire. Our staff are always happy to help and advise you on things to see and do locally or further afield and will endeavour to meet your every request. We regularly have live music in the bar area on Saturday evenings ranging from solo artists to tribute acts and bands, just contact us to find out what's still to come in our line up for this year.
This Autumn will see the completion of our new beer garden, with children's adventure play area with sections dedicated to those smaller guests under the age of 5 and our older children aged 5 and over, there is an area of Astro turf for a kick around and decked eating area to enjoy some alfresco dining should you wish. We also have rooms which can accommodate mans best friend! With our own canine menu your best friend can choose his own treat of ham, Bonio's or scrambled egg from our canine menu and enjoy a comfortable blanket and chew in your room.
