Mumbai hotels near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya

Pros: This hotel was exceptional. We normally stay at the JWM and this was first visit to the Oberoi... and we loved it. WE thought the design (modern, contemporary) was exactly our preferred style of hotel (as opposed to chintzy seen at many other 5 star hotels in Mumbai). The suite had the most spectacular view and was spacious, spotlessly clean and so very comfortable. We had a lovely friendly welcome (I'm deaf and that's not always easy in India, but the guest reception on arrival was really charming, kind and considerate... thank you!). The afternoon tea and champagne was a good first day choice - not rushed, all very clam and civilised. I can imagine though if you just want tea it might be a little slow (but was PERFECT for us). We loved the Italian restaurant and the piano and entertainment on our first night dinner was lovely. The food great, the wine, excellent. For the second night we ate in the open plan restuarant - much more relaxed and had a coupe of the signature dishes (the sushi was running short BUT they managed to combine some dishes and I ate the finest sushi I have had in ages... thank you). The waiter on that evening for our table was efficient, friendly and we had a laugh about me making a spillage... and then he made a spillage. A really GREAT ambassador for the hotel / restaurant.

Pros: This hotel was a dream to stay in, every single staff member was so sweet and helpful. The amount of kindness was very heart warming. Absolutely love that this hotel caters to Allergies, especially gluten free, my sister and I loved the gluten free banana bread, and the amount of options available at breakfast. We were truly spoilt. This area of Mumbai felt very safe, we were able to walk along the promenade at night without feeling worried. The pool was stunning with a fantastic view of the mumbai skyline. Great to watch sunset or the sunrise. We will definately be staying here again if we come to Mumbai.

Pros: Breakfast was wholesome and covered multiple nationalities. Our room was beautiful, with a King size bed, bath, desk and chair, a toilet with a door and a trunk room to hide away your cases. The housekeeper on our floor, Marina was a delight and very accommodating The hotel provides provides bay and ocean view, Marine Drive has a broad walk way between the ocean & road great for evening strolls. Security checks are conducted on entry to the Hotel and due to the COVID-19 we were also had our temperature taken each time we entered.

Pros: They somehow managed to make my wife and I feel like the only guests in the hotel. It seemed like there was nothing they couldn't to for us. The concierge brought someone in to set us up with SIM cards, tied up the loose ends in our travel booking with another Oberoi hotel, arranged for a car to take us to the airport set up a tour of Mumbai, as, well as a private cooking lesson with one of the chefs at one of the 3 restaurants on site. They also sent flowers up for my wife just because. It was such a wonderful experience that it's difficult to sum up. Bottom line, ignore any other option, or deal, or what-have-you. You will not find a more incredible experience anywhere.

Pros: The staff were all excellent and the breakfast choice and overall attention to detail were some of the best we have experienced.

Pros: Amazing hotel. We arrived early due to the visa issues following coronavirus and they accommodated us very well without any issues. Great service from everyone. The breakfast was brilliant as well. Concierge always gave great advice on whatever we asked for.

Pros: Everything from check in to check out,the staff make you feel like royalty the rooms are fantastic, the food in hotel is excellent the high tea well worth going to,the bteakfast is excellent, swimming pool lovely and clean it's the excellent staff that make this hotel more fantastic.

Pros: It's the taj. It's lovely and our room was freshly redone since last year. It's way too expensive for what you get, but where else would you stay in Mumbai? Breakfast buffet was always amazing in the past, this stay we were super disappointed. Milk was UHT from a box, selection was limited, took ages to get water refilled.

Pros: The staff were very friendly and the attention to detail was exceptional We were upgraded to the Palace
