Pros: Great location in lovely neighbourhood.Close to nature and to town. The use of the bikes works really well. Lovely host with great tips of what to do around the area.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay and hosts were super flexible and extremely pleasant!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent. You can bike into town pretty quickly, but if, like me, you prefer a stroll, it only takes about 20 minutes. It's a really pleasant location near green spaces and a café. The room is comfortable, well-heated, and exactly what I was looking for as a solo traveller on business.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious and occupied half the third floor of a big house, opposite to a second guest room. The house is located in a quiet area of Maastricht very close to St Pietersberg, so green as well as quiet. The house is very well maintained. The lady of the house is exquisitely nice and welcoming, She gave us god advices for bike ride and walk in the nature around and as the weather was great, we took the most of it. Cafes and very god restaurants could be easily found 5 min by foot away from the property, so breakfasts and dinners could easily be taken (and enjoyed) locally. The beds were super confy. The wifi worked very well. The bathroom is great. Although the property does not offer breakfast, a kettle and coffee machine are available as well as a fridge and a microwave are available with possibilities to eat inside the room with the blessing of the owners. there are also maintained bikes available, which is nice as the city is just a little far away to walk (even though it is only 20 min by foot). We had a splendid time
Cons: The wooden stairs make a LOT of noise. WOuld be great if this could be fixed. It would also been lovely to have access to the garden as the weather was perfect to lounge around for a few hours.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place to stay. Loved Ingrid... so wonderful. Use of bikes was a great extra!
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice small hotel with very friendly staff, nice rooms and awesome location. This is how hotelling should be
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Britannique Hotel is at the hub in the centre of Maastricht so for location it doesn’t get any better. For comfort, cleanliness and facilities it is perfect. But now for the good bit ...the staff and particularly the owners are what you always dream of but in reality seldom get, well, here’s the surprise! Kiona and Tim are the master of customer care. In their relatively short period of ownership they have transformed The Britannique into a stylish modern hotel/restaurant which is attracting the more discerning customer. The rooms have all been completely remodelled in the art nouveau style with contemporary furnishing. Outstanding marble bathroom with generous rain shower cubicle. Regardless of the weather the hotel has a comfortable heated front terrace, perfect for taking refreshments and ‘people watching ‘ A most enjoyable and memorable stay in Maastricht and we most certainly will return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great - in the middle of town with great ways to visit the city center. Very good chceckin en great room. Would recommend to everyone!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners , Tim and Kyona ,made our stay in their lovely hotel a perfect and brilliant break. . The ideal position for the Xmas market in the square outside. Great food and service. Nothing was to much trouble. We look forward to staying with them next year.
Cons: Leaving the hotel
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is situated in the middle of town, right on Vrijthof square. Our room was clean and spacious and very comfortable. The design was very special and quite to our taste. Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the first floor which only opens for business on 9 AM. My husband had to go out for his meeting early than that, so he had to skip breakfast altogether. (I should state that the manager offered to ask one of the staff to come to work early and prepare breakfast for him, but we declined). The breakfast that I had was part of the restaurant menu, but it was unclear what of the menu is included and what is excluded. The staff, both manager and the restaurant staff (that double as hotel staff) were very nice and helpful, and tried hard to make our stay nice.Parking is available at a reduced price at a near by parking garage - very convenient.
Cons: The toilet was separated from the main room only by a transparent sliding door. Not a very convenient arrangement, even for a married couple. A curtain or some other mean of hiding the toilet from the room would be appreciated by most guests, I presume. There is no elevator in the hotel, bare this in mind if you have difficulties climbing a fair number of stairs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tastefully furnished room. Super bed. Excellent location. No breakfast buffet but instead everything your heart desires brought to your table.
7.0 Good
Pros: Bath was awesome Bed had comfy linen Staff were friendly Complimentary drink
Cons: Breakfast not included Not enough regular coffee Lighting was mixed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Met by the owner, given a glass of Prosecco whilst bags were taken to the room. We were upgraded to the best room. The owner was very pleasant and quite rightly proud of the restaurant and hotel. We had a meal which was very enjoyable; the staff (all of them) were pleasant and appeared happy in their work and couldn't do enough for you. The young owner went out of her way to help us with our enquiries and I honestly wish her and her staff a great future. The young man who was serving Saturday night was really pleasant and chatted to us, when he could, and gave us an insight to the city. The room was beautifully decorated and the bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept in! All in all, I can't fault the hotel. Great position on the square with the Xmas market and where Andre Rieu plays in the summer!
Cons: Probably a little expensive but guess the time of year plays its part?!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Decor is fabulous
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place, great location, nice barn and very good staff
Cons: The bedrooms are small and not as special as you’d expect from a place like this.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The nice young woman who carried 3 heavy bags up 2 ridiculously long sets of stairs.
Cons: Being dumped in an overflow room on the top floor with no lift in an adjacent building. Design Hotel? You must be joking. Being castigated by reception staff for missing an email saying the restaurant was booked out. Shall we continue? Seems if you book on this website you are treated as last minute fodder to ensure all rooms are booked. Such fools were we.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The old monastery is very nice, the atmosphere in the church and hotel entrance are very well designed. The staffs are very nice and helpful. Enjoy a dinner in the restaurant or a glass at the bar in the church, but do not sleep there, it is overpriced.
Cons: Breakfast is not at all what you would expect from a 5 stars hotel. The equipments in the room are pretty basic with respect to the price. The restaurant was fully booked already when we check-in at 1pm! That is not normal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional, one-of-a-kind hotel with an amazing lobby / restaurant inside an old church. Professional staff (with particular compliments to mr. 'Jan'). Great location in the city center.
Cons: Near perfection. Rooms with bathtubs would be even nicer were bath foam available. Room 110 could use a small lick of paint here and there.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel, strongly recommend! Very comfortable, wonderful staff, great rooftop bar and fun activities in the lobby. Location is great, very close to the Markt area, a 2 minute walk to the centre.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room, friendly & helpfull staff and many facilities. Bed is also very comfy and the shower is spacious. :) At the 8th floor there’s a nice rooftop bar and the city centre is a 10 minute walk away.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: -The location was very convenient to me as someone who was taking a short course at UNU-MERIT (2-3 minute walk). -The staff was very attentive and helpful.
Cons: -When I checked in after midnight, the room I was guided (#314) seemed to be not thoroughly cleaned (or it was then somebody took the liberty of using it). There were used towels, trash was not taken out, coffee machine was used, and so were the pillows. I was super tired after a long travel (more than 24 hours since I left my home) so thought of just ignoring these things but changed my mind and asked the reception staff to check the room. She did and took some photos. She then decided that this was not acceptable and gave me a clean room, which I was very grateful of. Kudos to the lady who was working there that day. -It got a bit noisy time to time due to other guests, but that's not really under hotel's control. -The only other shortcoming was laundry. The payment option was either coins or special cards, which are only given to long-term guests. There was no change machine around, so it was not the most convenient setup. The reception staff offered to pay on my behalf and charge the amount to my room (so that I could pay in card), but I decided no to do laundry there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: friendly service, fast checkin checkout

Pros: The staff is really nice, and the hotel super!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Each room was very different. Nice hotel well in a different part of the city.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We got a very friendly welcome with coffee and tea. Our room was very quiet, beds very comfortable, and there were complimentary coffee and tea facilities on the landing. The breakfast was great with lots to choose from. We could borrow 2 bicycles, what was very convenient to get around the city. I would highly recommend this place.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, location was good, a few minutes walk from downtown but nice area and close to Fort Sint Pieter, which has great views and interesting Fort and Caves tours.
Cons: Steep stairs, no elevator, not a problem for us but could be for some.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely house that was turned into a guest house by its owners. The freshly baked goods are delicious and the owners are very friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very helpful, room was clean and had everything we need it, close to city center.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the breakfast!! Fantastic, gourmet meal, best quality of everything, great big choice of food. One of the managers is a baker originally, so the croissants and the cakes are all fantastic - all baked fresh! The hotel's name was given by the book inspiration of "Hotel Pastis" by Peter Mayle. That is why I chose this hotel in the first place. And it was absolutely right! As this hotel is run by love and passion. Very generous welcome by the manager. Nice coffee, freshly baked cake. The breakfast room area is soooo cozy, you can sit and read, eat, drink all day long. The walk to the city heart is a lovely one, partly through historical areas and great, generous parks. Amazing cafés and restaurants are nearby! Lovely!
Cons: The mirror in the bathroom should be ca. 25 cm lower - as I am (only) 161 cm tall (like many other Europeans :-)). But there was an other big mirror in the room, which compensated for this :-)

Pros: Great location Nice breakfast
Cons: Quite expensive And anyone with any kind of disability has no chance with the narrow, wooden, spiral staircase.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this hotel was great. Great size room, good facilities and super staff.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The beds were absolutely uncomfortable and I did not sleep
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The family bedroom is very well: very big. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast is very appetizing and plentifull. This hotel is very well located: very far from the center, and from the restaurants. Third floor with steep stairs. There is a parking near this adress.
Cons: Wa had to pay with cash, because the hotel doesn't accept the visa card.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good and well prepared. Staff were helpful and accomodating too.
Cons: Maybe the hotel can provide some milk warming facilities for families travelling with infants especially during night time.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very pleasant hotel situated quite central. Easy to walk into Maastrict and the lovely streets and squares. Lovely clean room that was quite different than the usual hotel "box". Pleasant staff. Good breakfast.
Cons: No dedicated hotel parking, so you have to pay for on street parking which can be fun to find. No hotel lift, so as the hotel has several (tall) floors, be prepared to haul your luggage up several flights of stairs. Strangely, as we were checking out, the proprietor advised us she could not take card payments. We had not prepared for this so had to seek out an ATM. This involved walking round the streets of Maastrict using Google Maps to finally locate a working and accessible ATM. This added about an hour to our check out. It would have made sense if the proprietor had advised us in advance as we saw her every day.

Pros: What a fabulous place to stay - great staff, great room, excellent location. We will definitely be back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here when we saw Andre Rieu. The Hotel staff were incredible, so friendly and welcoming. We walked, with our cases, from the train station, thinking it was only 5 minutes. When we arrived, the lady said we could have rang, and she would have picked us up. The location was excellent, right in the main square. The room was nice and big, with two large window doors. Couldnt fault it, would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We have been here a few times before and we love to come back. Excellent location, clean hotel, nice staff.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: The room was smelling cigarettes although it’s forbidden to smoke inside. The bathroom was not cleaned properly. The toilet still had vomit marks from the previous people who stayed in and the sink was blocked (probably from vomit again?) and food remains came back up...on top of it the internet was not working. Worst hotel stay ever.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed. Shower was really good too.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel? top! Location? top! Staff? top! Parking? top! Still wonder why we stayed for the 3rd time.....
Cons: We wanted sit on the terras for a drink at 23.00 but they were about to close the bar. However the bartender was so nice to fix the drinks and he would leave our table for last to clean up. And also enough bars on the Vrijthof.

Pros: Fantastic location, staff, value, everything!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Apartment was lovely and spacious with our own front door
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great about the property. Room a good size, bed comfortable, shower good, breakfast was great, staff very friendly and location was perfect.
Cons: There is no parking as to be expected in the city centre however street parking is very challenging and if you do not have a credit card that is a “Maestro” then your card will not work in the pay machines. Some of the machines would not accept cash and therefore had to keep moving my vehicle until I could find a machine that worked. Time consuming and frustrating. The staff should be aware of this but the information was not passed onto us. The staff really should direct guests to a car park at least then the car is safe for the duration of your stay. It may be more expensive but in the end, I probably paid way more and wasted a lot of time that could be better spent enjoy the beautiful city.
6.7 Good
Pros: Center, parking, people, bed
Cons: Dusty, too small bath room, very noisy at night
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is fabulous , very close to city center and shopping mile.
Cons: Next to our apartment there was a student house and the youngsters celebrated of course new year with some drinks , loud music and lots of noises till quite late night -a bit annoying. Otherwise very nice apartment with all the needed facilities.

Pros: Offered a free drink (wine & beer) on arrival. A nice touch A very comfortable bed
Cons: There is NO onsite parking. You have to park on the narrow street. The bedroom has a large patio door, but it cannot be opened! Which means that the was no means of getting ventilation/fresh air into the bedroom. It could therefore get hot/stuffy in summer

Pros: Location is is near the river. You can ride a bike or walk to city center. There are Not many choice for the breakfast, but food are delicious.
Cons: Shower is near bed and need to stay in bathtub when showering.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff, location, what a stunningly beautiful place, will stay again.
Cons: Only niggle was the bed was way to soft for our taste, minor niggle.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything was ok. Very dog friendly place with clean rooms.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great place with lovely garden. Dog friendly place.
6.7 Good
Pros: The property is a fantastic environment. Very beautiful gardens along the river Maas / Meuse, old but refurbished castle and coach house. Staff very friendly. And a very good and beautiful restaurant on the same property, although not the same business group.
Cons: Avoid at all cost the two suites Adam Love Suite and Eve Love Suite, next to the reception. These rooms have a bath tub in the same open space as the bed, but no shower facility at all, not even using the same bath tub. As such, you forgo a shower or you splash the whole room wet. The next morning after complaining about the same, initially no alternative rooms were available for the second night. After stating that we would leave then and not pay for the reserved second night, we were given two much better alternative rooms with a proper bathroom with shower. This business is completely understaffed. You start to feel sorry for the few staff, if around at all, for the amount of multitasking they are required to do (combination of reception, bar and breakfast service done by one person…). If not at the reception, you are asked to call the central number. Once in the morning this took me 3 calls and 15 minutes in total, to no avail. Another time, past 23:00 calling the same number connected me to the “Black Label Hotel Valkenburg”, the person only spoke English, and was not at all aware that calls from Kasteel De Doorenwerth were forwarded to the other hotel, let alone could help us to get in the tower rooms general staircase access, with the access door closed. Only with help of the off-duty restaurant staff did we discover a ‘hidden’ door on the other side ‘camouflaged’ in the castle wall.
7.0 Good
Pros: fab breakfast in the castle
Cons: less gales!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was always very very friendly ans professional. The proper Cappuccino at the breakfast was italian style and hand made. The rooms are very spacey and well maintained.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A working AC felt wonderful on a hot day! The room was very clean and a nice surprise was the fridge and coffee maker. The environment was lovely but I was disappointed with the location of the room because I thought the rooms were downstairs.
Cons: The room on the second floor of the tower is not suitable for older people or dogs due to too steep and dangerous stairs. (Spiral stairs). The stairwell was also awfully hot, just as if it were in a sauna. Nor do I like the fact that the shower has a direct view into the room (glass wall). The headboard of the bed was loose and there was no reading light and neither was there bedside tables.

Pros: Excellent location, walking distance from the station in a more relaxed area but very near the old centre. Accomodation was very good with a nice breakfast. Room was tidy and very quiet. Dinner in the adjacent restaurant is also recommended with friendly staff and good food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff always going the extra mile, comfortable and stylish facilities, nice gym and great location :)
Cons: I love everything about the Design Hotel
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, large bed. Good breakfast buffet. Good location
Cons: Bit busy at breakfast
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The very kindly people. And nearly to the train station. The room is quiet and comfortable.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room is relatively small but thx to a smart design very efficient, cosy and nicely designed. Like it ! Also, the location very close to the station and city center is perfect.
Cons: If you come by car, like we did, parking is important. Because we were there in the very busy new year's period, I had to wait +/- 60 minutes at the nearest parking close to the hotel. I asked the staff for advice which parking would be best suited, but they couldn't help. Later I noticed that another parking was less busy, so I wonder if they can inform you better - not sure. Also, our kids their room was far from ours. We didn't book that late so having rooms nearby one another is preferable.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location just next to the trainstation
Cons: There were issues with the heating at night and no way to connect to the front desk as there is no phone in the room. Had to get up in the middle of our sleep to ho down to reception. They did bring a small room heater eventually but was too noisy. Not great given the hotel is quite costly, was expecting much better service
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The Room was nice. There was no real bathroom but it wasn't an issue. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The breakfast was not that good. There was a lot of choice but the scrambled eggs were cold and the boiled eggs were hard. The bread and the muesli were good. There was fresh orange juice to be made by ourselves

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel exceeded the expectations! Our room was quite big and everything was very clean. We didn't expect the breakfast to be so great: a lot of food to choose from, also gluten free options available. The hotel is 30-40 minutes walking from city centre but you can also take a train or a bus. There is a health club with a sauna and hamam in the hotel but we didn't use it. We'll try it next time we stay there!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great, including local pie (vlaai)
5.4 Okay
Pros: The lobby and the restaurant of the hotel were pleasant, the location is convenient if you are visiting the university of Maastricht, but it is far from the old town. The rooms are of fair size. The breakfast was quite good.
Cons: The bathroom in our room was not clean. We checked in late and were too exhausted to charge rooms. The floor in the room was very dusty. It spoiled my entire stay. The comforters were small, but that is often the case in hotel in the area. The check in took about 20 min, maybe the receptionist was new. The check out however was also slow.
7.0 Good
Pros: I like the restaurant, and the breakfast buffet. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Comfortable beds
Cons: There are no sockets next to bed. 21st century rhotel ooms should have sockets to plug in the phone or other devices. There is no way you can charge your phone next to you! I do not like that the gym is private and you need to pay a fee if you want to use.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Large and clean bedroom, quiet atmosphere
Cons: Breakfast was good, but not exceptional
8.8 Excellent
Pros: convenient hotel, cleanliness, very friendly staff, great food
Cons: rooms doors are slamming.

5.8 Okay
Pros: + big rooms (deluxe version) + quiet + close to highways - very good for the ones travelling by car
Cons: - pretty cold and the heating was not so good - would have appreciated some indoor slippers - no toilet brush available - one has to ask for one explicitly at the reception (apperently for health reasons) - a first for me
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness. comfortable room. Location is not fancy but workpurposes it is very good.
