6.7 Good
Pros: Food was excellent, beautiful location, friendly staff and nice room.
Cons: Villa Palmar is a Timeshare Resort. We were not aware of this until we checked in and our consierge Dulce tried to get us to go to " information meetings" in exchange for discounts for certain activities at the hotel/resort. She was aggressive even though we declined several times. The next day, someone else was trying to get us to the meeting and the next evening someone called our room for the same purpose . We felt very upset at this point and felt abused. I complained to a very nice consierge called Samantha who said she would talk to her superiors. Another wonderful employee by the name of Jorge was also extremely helpful to us.We were told by 2 different couples that the approach this year was extremely aggressive as they too were hounded to upgrade the timeshares they already had. Both walked out of their meeting. As beautiful as the location is, I would hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone due to their sales approach and also it's isolation. There is lots to do there but it was a 40 minute shuttle ride into the town of Loreto. I am glad we saw that part of the Baja as it is truly beautiful ,but I would not return.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff here is fantastic. The restaurant staff especially Emanuel and Mercedes. The pool bar staff including Manny and Jorge. Liz at kids club. Everyone knew my son’s name and catered to our every need. Usually we never had to ask they were on top of everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet
5.4 Okay
Pros: Comfortable lounge chairs at the pool and the beach
Cons: Bed bugs. Itchy bites each morning. Talked to Javier the first morning and he assured us the maid would do a deep clean. We continued to have itchy bites all week.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything is immaculate ! And the staff is beyond outstanding
Cons: The Italian food is lacking. A chef needs to train the cook staff of the Italian restaurant
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast average. Buffet breakfast . Not very good service. Ordered capuchino twice and never got it.
Cons: It was too expensive for what you get . I ended up paying $450 a day for one person room and meals. The Spa was very expensive and therefore NO one was there. The setting is beautiful but very average hotel.

6.2 Good
Pros: The rooms were neat and clean with beautiful ocean views. The golf course was amazing! Very challenging with wonderful views of the mountais and the Sea .
Cons: First off, while the rooms are clesn and lovely, the floors are tile. If you go here, ensure you are not placed in a room that is below another guest. The tile floor enhances any and all noise from above...Very Noisy! Next, they advertise a "Sport Bar" at the hotel. While there is technically a bar the floor sbove the check in counter, It really doesnt deserve to be called a sports bar. In addition, while there was loud music, lights and a moldy foozball table in the bar, there was no bartender or any sign of an emoyee anywhere. Last off, the jacuzzi was never more than body temp warm. Even after repeated requests to heat it up, it rdmained only a few degrees above the pool temp.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an older hotel but the grounds were really well taken care of and pretty. The pool and beach were nice with easy access to food and drinks. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfy, I liked having a real coffee pot in the room as well. You can't beat the location, quiet, private, and a beautiful view of the Sea of Cortez. We will definitely go back.
Cons: Staff could have been a little more helpful with questions. We would have liked having outdoor chairs to sit on outside our room, we were on the ground floor.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Our view and location was amazing, the hotel has great potential but needs lots of help. The community of Loreto Bay is wonderful & well taken care of.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Good location, nice beach, a few good staff members
Cons: Staff has attitude, is rude, cleanliness could be better, food at the restaurant is not good.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view. Great golf course. Nice pool. Will stay there again.
Cons: A little drive into Loreto but not bad. About 10 km.
6.7 Good
Pros: The employees were great and the views wonderful. Liked the location.
Cons: Property needs a major renovation, deck hot tub was old and not well kept, nor were the lounges on the deck of the room. The housekeeping swept the floors but never moped them. I spilt a whole drink on the pool deck and it was still there the next day- I don’t think they cleaned the pool deck the whole time we were there. The resort should have provided transportation to town. We never went because of the taxi cost and because we were only two so would have had to pay the full fair.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and scenery were beautiful and quiet.
Cons: we never got water in our room
4.2 Okay
Pros: We booked on booking.com and when we got to the resort they had no rooms. They said their system doesn’t see the reservations. They ended up finding a room for us which we appreciated but right after that someone else was checking in with the same problem.
Cons: The food was awful and not what it says on the menu. Merry go We went to the sports bar and the refrigerator was very low on beer. The bartender ordered more beer to be brought up and it was all warm so he stuck all the warm beer in the ice maker that he was making drinks out of!!!
4.0 Okay
Pros: Beautiful location, nice rooms but overall service and amenities are severely lacking. People were nice enough but I knowledgeable about the facility. No hot tub Restaurant has zero atmosphere Bar has zero atmosphere Work out room horrible Defiantly not what was advertised and too expensive.
7.0 Good
Pros: Beautiful location at the beach and very nice rooms; bike and kayaks available for exploring
Cons: The food was not very good and the permanent loud music from bar and outdoor restaurant was disturbing. Lawn mowers, chain saws, leaves blowers - early in the morning and at the weekend, all added to a not very noisy background. Not necessarily what you want from a beach vacation.
4.5 Okay
Cons: I called twice before my trip and upon arrival I had requested the 3rd floor but they said no third floor even there was hardly anyone there, maybe a handful of guests only.

7.0 Good
Pros: Our last night in Loreto we stayed here because of the location close to the airport. The room was clean, two twin beds, a kitchen It was the second hotel we stayed at that had a glass slider for a door. There's a resturant connected to the hotel for breakfast at night Italian food. The steak house next to it is outstanding food. Affliated with resturants in Rosarito and San Felipe.
Cons: The glass sliding door.
7.9 Good

Cons: Needed more bath towels. Would like the included breakfast to have Mexican option not just American options

La Mision Loreto - Loreto (Baja California Sur) - Building

Overview Reviews
LA MISION HOTELDiscover La Mision Loreto Hotel in Baja Sur, a stunning, new, elegant resort with a contemporary European-Mexican Hacienda style evocative of the Old Mission flavor of Baja Mexico. La Mision Loreto, for those who are looking for a meaningful travel experience. A rich tapestry of Old Mission traditions, authentic lifestyles and a wealth of Mexican culture. Loreto was the first capital of The Californias. Here, historic missions still await the prayerful in the shadows of the Sierra de la Giganta mountains and fishing boats dot the intense blue of the Sea of Cortez. La Mision is just a 2 hour flight from Los Angeles but an eternity from the noise, crowds and stress of the other Mexico.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully constructed. Immaculate!! Great location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was amazing. Service was incredible. Not a bad thing to say about this hotel.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Friendly staff. Great pizza night.
Cons: Breakfast over priced. Transfer to and from airport over priced. Happy hour was great as had live music
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Recent 2 day stay for buisness. Service staff members were friendly, Not enough English speaking to support a detailed conversation for very long . But I was in Mexico and not the US. Checkin desk and management were short and buisness like. There is not a check in counter, you sit at the concierge desk to check in. Food at the resturant was good and tasty. Breakfast buffet was good and fresh. Not a lot of people hanging out at the pool or bars during my stay. Hallways to rooms are louder than normal due to the, all tile floors. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Television channels were limited only two speaking English. Great air conditioning in teh rooms , great shower and all tile floors in the rooms which made it feel clean.
Cons: Lack of people which could be viewed positively for some, need for more bilingual speakers to converese with the guests. One of three bartenders were making an attempt to converse with coustomers.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, great big room, very good restaurant and bars, nice pool, excellent service.
Cons: The place is great, but we would have loved to have luggage racks for our luggage. The room was very spacious, but nothing to put the suitcases on. We had to use the bench in front of the bed, which was Ok for one suitcase, but the other we had to put on the floor. A little bit more light in the room and bathroom would also help.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great.
Cons: The jacuzzi was not heated unless requested and then we had to wait hours.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and room 314 had beautiful views of the Gulf of California. Had outstanding views of the sunrises. The resturant was located on the 2nd floor and was very convenient to get to. We arrived late afternoon and had lunch. The food was very good. My mom had fish + chips, I had carnitas that were moist and tender. The staff were eve friendly and efficient. The breakfast is ok they would rather have you get the buffet. I had forgot my plug to charge my IPad. And one of the staff was very helpful in me finding one.
Cons: No complaints
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was delightful and presentation of the dish was fabulous. View from the restaurant was exceptional.
Cons: The weather was unusually cold for a couple of days (no fault of the hotel) and the rooms were cold since the hotel does not have heat only AC - BUT the staff brought in portable heaters for us so all turned out well.

Pros: Buffet breakfast was very good. They do not make it clear how or when to pay.
Cons: We were there 4 separate nights. We came back from a kayak/camping trip. Hopped in the shower expecting a hot shower and it was luke warm for the afternoon and evening. The shower was hot for the other nights.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Property was cute. Staff friendly.
Cons: It was a cute hotel, however we were placed at back end of property with many barking dogs. Breakfast was to be included, but on check in We were told it was not. Pool was not heated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very good location, very efficient staff, responsible for serving breakfast very attentive, the barman always willing to help, if you want to go to Loreto choose this hotel
Cons: Maybe I put more light at the Lobby, it seems to me a little dark
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is as good as it gets in Loreto (unless you want to do a resort which is never my preference). Very nice grounds, clean and comfortable suites, friendly and efficient desk staff.
Cons: Nothing to dislike
9.0 Excellent
Pros: family owned and operated. fantastic
7.5 Good
Pros: It was nice. The court yard was protected from the wind.
Cons: The pool was cold and not usable. No hairdryers. No microwave or small refrigerator. The breakfast was ok but the bacon was scarce. The fruit selection one day was good the next not so good. For what we needed it was good.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room and property were clean and well cared for. Breakfast on the patio and in the restaurant started the day just right.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nice pool
Cons: Poor value and they overcharged me .Should at least get breakfast for the price and there’s nothing near by.Had to park in street for hotel as parking lot appears to be in another location. Safe in room broken , air conditioner worked but was also damaged . They call themselves a suites hotel but room was just your basic hotel room . Shame it probably was a nice place originally , obviously won’t be back .

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location in the middle of the square, easy walk to everything. Charming older looking hotel. Breakfast was a surprise was not expecting white table clothes, china, & being served by a friendly waitress. Coffee, bread basket with yummy jam, a fresh fruit bowl with yogurt & granola, than potato frittata & retried beans. Only disappointment was the pool was closed for maintenance, which it looked like it needed badly.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was pretty good since it was only a continental breakfast. The fruit bowl with yogurt and granola was great.
Cons: The lighting around the stairs could have been brighter during the evening and also better lighting in the bathroom above the mirror.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel and staff.
5.4 Okay
Pros: No hot water or lights
Cons: No hot water or lights
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic and so central to everything, we didn't even need a car. Hotel staff provide exceptional customer service and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was spotless and well appointed. We would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Sound carries very easily throughout the hotel. For example, we could clearly hear other guests' conversations and the activities of employees in the morning as they opened and prepared the hotel each day. There was a concert in the plaza one night that lasted until 2 a.m. and it sounded like the band was playing in our room. The hotel guests and employees are actually very quiet but the acoustics are a bit magnified based on the location and setup of the hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Rooms are nice but beds are way too hard. Impossible to sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful old Mexican Villa with a lot of Charme and typical Mexican design. It is right in the middle of the old town and the roof terrace has great views over the town and towards the beach. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. Staff was very nice.
Cons: The bed and room decor was a bit dated.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very pleased with everything
6.7 Good
Cons: Bathroom facilities needed repair. No hot water. Shower head did not function.
7.0 Good
Pros: Clean, comfortable beds. The staff is very friendly and they try very hard to make sure you are well taken care of. They try to speak English, but with hand gestures and cooperation you can get along. Food is ok, a decent wine collection and plenty of other spirits to indulge.
Cons: The place is old, it needs some love., and its obvious that they are trying in some areas and not so much in others.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Dinner and Breakfast were very good.
Cons: Didn’t like that the parking was in the front of the hotel but I was in the back. Seemed like there was closer parking. This would not stop me from returning. I am sure it is a security issue.

5.4 Okay
Pros: I own property in Mexico and have traveled many places in the country I give this hotel 2 stars because the staff is wonderful and its on the bay ( which is not nice at all) The photos of the hotel with the hammocks in front of the rooms is why I chose to stay. However those rooms belong to the owners/ managers. There are no hammocks in front of the other rooms nor are there room darkening shades nor paint like those shown. I paid over 100 a night low season but the hotel is more of a 40 dollar hotel. The wifi doesn't really reach the rooms. There were holes in walls and doors, no drinking water, no ice, three channels, thin walls, barking dogs. Super clean room however. Staff great good air conditioning I did like being near the malecon, however there isn't much there as far as things to do. Pool seemed cloudy and couldn't find a bathroom near it ( may have been but looked) . Rim of pool broken up and plaster coming off bottom. Felt safe .
Cons: Holes in wall and door Pool needing work and dirty No or non usable wifi in rooms No drinking water 12 oz a day) not enough no ice Run down Noisy Not as pictured with hammocks No lounge chairs for palapas out No taxis Nothing to do
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was wonderful - beach front and close to everything. Comfy soft beds. Clean rooms and dog friendly! The kitchen stored our 30lb yellow tail catch and prepared it just how we requested! Delicious!
Cons: Was told breakfast was included more than once - then when we went to get food in the morning we were told otherwise.
7.0 Good
Pros: Young waiter got us toast and jam, fruit and coffee anyway, so we could eat before breakfast was open. Location is right on the beach and has beautiful views. Patio and chairs. Great estuary and beach to walk.
Cons: Only one plug in in room, and none in bathroom. Breakfast was not available until 7 and tour leaving at 715.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beach front restaurant onsite. Pool. Hotel close to activities Nice board walk to run on. Safe environment
Cons: Maybe a microwave in room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location on the beach so peaceful just only a short walk to town
7.0 Good
Pros: The location rocks, right on the ocean. Also conveniently on the outskirts of downtown, so easy to walk to restaurants, bars etc. Was happy with free parking and although we didn't use it, the heated pool is a nice bonus.
Cons: The rooms are quite dated and feel like a motel, although the mattress was comfy. Loreto is a not a fancy town though and I did not see a ton of higher end places to stay.
7.0 Good
Pros: It’s location right on the beach
Cons: It’s a 1950s property and bed were badly in need of updating
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice location, friendly staff. The breakfast was good and in the nice location (in front of the beach)
Cons: The rooms and the whole hotel looks like it has not been renovated since the '70. A bit too dark and ''rusty''.

Pros: Lovely hotel with excellent shower and lots of hooks in bathroom! Yay!! Surprised to receive a continental breakfast. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Thank you for speaking excellent English. Looked like local artists were featured in the decor.
Cons: Location was a few blocks from the inland start of the Alameda/Mission. Might be a hot walk in summer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very clean, comfortable beds, the reception staff was very freindly and helpful. The hotel was very quite. In the morni g they had coffee , toast and cereal available. This hotel was an excellent place to stay for price and comfort and recommend it as a place to stay while in Loreto.

Pros: Great people! This was our second stay at Hotel Angra.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great people!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and quiet. Good shower and bathroom. Not in center of town so there was a short 10-15 minute walk to most of the restaurants and shops in the center. But, it was just a few blocks from the bus station which was great.
7.0 Good
Cons: Beds were very firm, a memory foam topper would help tremendously for comfort. The lighting in the room was very harsh. better light fixtures on the ceiling & beside the beds would help soften the lighting in the room.

Pros: Nice building, yard and rooms
Cons: A bit pricey
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked being in the historic part of Loreto. The restaurants were wonderful. We especially liked Luna Pizza and Mi Loreto. The fresh fish was delicious. At Mi Loreto there was a lovely guitar player & singer during the meal. Old favorite tunes of Bob Dylan and the Eagles. Also, Deborah at La Damiana Inn recommended Land & Sea Tours for our excursion to Isla Coronado. Daniel was a great captain. He shared his knowledge about the sea lions, dolphins and the environment. We snorkeled off the coast of Isla Coronado. Lovely spot. And Land & Sea provided a delicious lunch. The seagulls liked some of our lunch too.
Cons: Everything was wonderful.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great value compared to other places. Great location one block to main square.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is very convenient. Right around the corner from the main street, two blocks from the beach and a block from the central plaza. Easy to walk all over for food choices, etc. The manager was a good resource for food ideas, and made sure our needs were met. The kitchen/dining area is well-stocked, and the courtyard is wonderful, with lots of seating options, plants, shade and birds.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the gardens surrounding the home and apt. were beautiful and lots of places to sit and enjoy the plants.
Cons: We liked everything.... the owner Gerardo was super knowledgeable and helped us with choices for dinner and things to do.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quaintness, staff helpful and friendly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Deborah and Gerardo were excellent hosts, easy to talk to, and know everything about Loreto. Our room (Azul) was so large that we had plenty of room to spread out. Great water pressure in shower. The outdoor kitchen was well stocked with condiments. We ate in every day. Lovely people stay here too. Lastly, the Inn is two short blocks to the Malecón. Great sunrises every day over the islands.
Cons: Nothing really

7.0 Good
Pros: I liked the staff and the location in town. It was not on the beach but close to the town square and mission church.
Cons: comfort of beds and pillows and breakfast would have been nice.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: This is a small cute facility on a quiet street very close to the action - the Malecon, the principal restaurants, the Misión and the Plaza. It's style is classical Mexican - very appealing, at least to me. The ambiance and the very reasonable price makes it a bargain.
Cons: In the 2 days I was there I never had hot water without requesting it. I was told there was a "boiler problem" which may be true and maybe it was not representative of the norm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We got our usual room with balconies over the courtyard/garden and the sea-side. Never disappoints. The rooftop patio is a relaxing viewpoint as well. Great coffee! Bed is sublime. Sparkling clean
Cons: Well, if I had to say something I'd mention the slow shower drain. Hard to think of any other. It is going to get tougher and tougher to plan these stays less than a week ahead as they fill up very quickly!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice place, good location
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We knew this wasn't on the water but we did have a balcony (pleasant surprise) and a peek-a-boo view of the water.
Cons: The town was a bit noisy at night but we were there on a weekend. We also thought we would be able to get laundry done but it is closed on Sunday. Neither were major issues. Would definitely stay here again.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely Spanish-style building set around a garden and tucked away on a quiet side street, yet only two blocks from the center of town. Rooms were tasteful, with colorful tile, and super clean. There are only seven total rooms, I think, so it feels quiet and private. The staff was warm and eager to help. There's a pretty roof deck, too.
Cons: There's one water cooler for guests to use, and it's in the office. Would be more convenient to have bottled water in each room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I was in Loreto for a kayak trip with a local company. They had provided a list of hotels to consider for the night before the trip and this was one of the "boutique" hotels listed. It was more expensive than the other one they suggested, but I chose it because others in the group were staying there. I noticed many reviews said their towels were very scratchy and it was true! The accommodations were very clean and lovely (nice tile work in the bathroom, etc), but I really only slept there, having arrived in the evening and leaving first thing in the morning. Thus, it felt like a rather expensive option for just sleeping, as the prices were close to US prices. It was a lovely hotel if I was staying for longer and wasn't trying to economize. The room was tiny and dark, but there was a nice upper deck that would be pleasant to spend time on.
Cons: Softer towels, more light, bigger room.

6.7 Good
Pros: Food was excellent, beautiful location, friendly staff and nice room.
