6.7 Good
Pros: Food was excellent, beautiful location, friendly staff and nice room.
Cons: Villa Palmar is a Timeshare Resort. We were not aware of this until we checked in and our consierge Dulce tried to get us to go to " information meetings" in exchange for discounts for certain activities at the hotel/resort. She was aggressive even though we declined several times. The next day, someone else was trying to get us to the meeting and the next evening someone called our room for the same purpose . We felt very upset at this point and felt abused. I complained to a very nice consierge called Samantha who said she would talk to her superiors. Another wonderful employee by the name of Jorge was also extremely helpful to us.We were told by 2 different couples that the approach this year was extremely aggressive as they too were hounded to upgrade the timeshares they already had. Both walked out of their meeting. As beautiful as the location is, I would hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone due to their sales approach and also it's isolation. There is lots to do there but it was a 40 minute shuttle ride into the town of Loreto. I am glad we saw that part of the Baja as it is truly beautiful ,but I would not return.
7.9 Good
Pros: Service was outstanding! Food was better than average.
Cons: Room was not clean. Facility is showing wear and tear. Pool tiles were loose and cut my foot.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff here is fantastic. The restaurant staff especially Emanuel and Mercedes. The pool bar staff including Manny and Jorge. Liz at kids club. Everyone knew my son’s name and catered to our every need. Usually we never had to ask they were on top of everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff
Cons: Nothing
5.4 Okay
Pros: Comfortable lounge chairs at the pool and the beach
Cons: Bed bugs. Itchy bites each morning. Talked to Javier the first morning and he assured us the maid would do a deep clean. We continued to have itchy bites all week.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything is immaculate ! And the staff is beyond outstanding
Cons: The Italian food is lacking. A chef needs to train the cook staff of the Italian restaurant

7.0 Good
Pros: I liked the staff and the location in town. It was not on the beach but close to the town square and mission church.
Cons: comfort of beds and pillows and breakfast would have been nice.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was fantastic. Within short walking distance to everything important--lots of restaurants, the beach, the shops. It was a charming, very small authentic hotel. Fun to sit out on the rooftop. Very picturesque. So glad we stayed right in town and not way out. It was one block from the taxi stand too so very convenient to take a taxi back to the airport.
Cons: One night a local band played a bit late at night. Oh well.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: This is a small cute facility on a quiet street very close to the action - the Malecon, the principal restaurants, the Misión and the Plaza. It's style is classical Mexican - very appealing, at least to me. The ambiance and the very reasonable price makes it a bargain.
Cons: In the 2 days I was there I never had hot water without requesting it. I was told there was a "boiler problem" which may be true and maybe it was not representative of the norm.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice place, good location
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We knew this wasn't on the water but we did have a balcony (pleasant surprise) and a peek-a-boo view of the water.
Cons: The town was a bit noisy at night but we were there on a weekend. We also thought we would be able to get laundry done but it is closed on Sunday. Neither were major issues. Would definitely stay here again.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location clean room comfy beds attractive property
Cons: no breakfast available, an easy chair would have been nice
9.4 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely Spanish-style building set around a garden and tucked away on a quiet side street, yet only two blocks from the center of town. Rooms were tasteful, with colorful tile, and super clean. There are only seven total rooms, I think, so it feels quiet and private. The staff was warm and eager to help. There's a pretty roof deck, too.
Cons: There's one water cooler for guests to use, and it's in the office. Would be more convenient to have bottled water in each room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I was in Loreto for a kayak trip with a local company. They had provided a list of hotels to consider for the night before the trip and this was one of the "boutique" hotels listed. It was more expensive than the other one they suggested, but I chose it because others in the group were staying there. I noticed many reviews said their towels were very scratchy and it was true! The accommodations were very clean and lovely (nice tile work in the bathroom, etc), but I really only slept there, having arrived in the evening and leaving first thing in the morning. Thus, it felt like a rather expensive option for just sleeping, as the prices were close to US prices. It was a lovely hotel if I was staying for longer and wasn't trying to economize. The room was tiny and dark, but there was a nice upper deck that would be pleasant to spend time on.
Cons: Softer towels, more light, bigger room.
La Mision Loreto - Loreto (Baja California Sur) - Building

9.1 Excellent (113 reviews)

Overview Reviews
LA MISION HOTELDiscover La Mision Loreto Hotel in Baja Sur, a stunning, new, elegant resort with a contemporary European-Mexican Hacienda style evocative of the Old Mission flavor of Baja Mexico. La Mision Loreto, for those who are looking for a meaningful travel experience. A rich tapestry of Old Mission traditions, authentic lifestyles and a wealth of Mexican culture. Loreto was the first capital of The Californias. Here, historic missions still await the prayerful in the shadows of the Sierra de la Giganta mountains and fishing boats dot the intense blue of the Sea of Cortez. La Mision is just a 2 hour flight from Los Angeles but an eternity from the noise, crowds and stress of the other Mexico.
7.9 Good
Pros: Large room with good sea view
Cons: View from Second floor rooms are booked by palm trees!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully constructed. Immaculate!! Great location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was amazing. Service was incredible. Not a bad thing to say about this hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect, amazing staff, super comfortable beds and very clean.
Cons: No complaints
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Recent 2 day stay for buisness. Service staff members were friendly, Not enough English speaking to support a detailed conversation for very long . But I was in Mexico and not the US. Checkin desk and management were short and buisness like. There is not a check in counter, you sit at the concierge desk to check in. Food at the resturant was good and tasty. Breakfast buffet was good and fresh. Not a lot of people hanging out at the pool or bars during my stay. Hallways to rooms are louder than normal due to the, all tile floors. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Television channels were limited only two speaking English. Great air conditioning in teh rooms , great shower and all tile floors in the rooms which made it feel clean.
Cons: Lack of people which could be viewed positively for some, need for more bilingual speakers to converese with the guests. One of three bartenders were making an attempt to converse with coustomers.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Reservation was for three adults but, only supplies for two i.e., coffee cups, etc.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view. Good bar, friendly staff, large room
Cons: Tiny coffee cups in room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location! Within walking distance of the square and the harbor. Staff is wonderful both friendly and helpful. This isn’t a huge resort property but large enough to feel pampered and taken care of. The rooms are a good size and beautifully appointed. I would highly recommend getting a ocean view room. Be sure to wake up to see the sunrise of Isla Carmen. You will not be disappointed. Good food. Be sure to try the pizza down at Los Olivos Restaurant, down by the pool. Chef Claudio is amazing. Osvaldo is also an attentive bartender. Whether it was getting us towels for the jacuzzi or making sure are food was made to order, he took good care of us.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness, quality of all the staff, location and service was exceptional. Our room was very spacious and had all amenities that American travelers would want. The bar, restaurant and pool facilities were also excellent.
Cons: The lighting in the bathroom could have been better., Also, a magnifying make-up mirror would be a great addition since the depth of the bathroom sink (a good thing) made it difficult to see up close in the mirror.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was delightful and presentation of the dish was fabulous. View from the restaurant was exceptional.
Cons: The weather was unusually cold for a couple of days (no fault of the hotel) and the rooms were cold since the hotel does not have heat only AC - BUT the staff brought in portable heaters for us so all turned out well.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room and property were clean and well cared for. Breakfast on the patio and in the restaurant started the day just right.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nice pool
Cons: Poor value and they overcharged me .Should at least get breakfast for the price and there’s nothing near by.Had to park in street for hotel as parking lot appears to be in another location. Safe in room broken , air conditioner worked but was also damaged . They call themselves a suites hotel but room was just your basic hotel room . Shame it probably was a nice place originally , obviously won’t be back .

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful scenery and staff!!
Cons: Short stay!
5.4 Okay
Pros: I own property in Mexico and have traveled many places in the country I give this hotel 2 stars because the staff is wonderful and its on the bay ( which is not nice at all) The photos of the hotel with the hammocks in front of the rooms is why I chose to stay. However those rooms belong to the owners/ managers. There are no hammocks in front of the other rooms nor are there room darkening shades nor paint like those shown. I paid over 100 a night low season but the hotel is more of a 40 dollar hotel. The wifi doesn't really reach the rooms. There were holes in walls and doors, no drinking water, no ice, three channels, thin walls, barking dogs. Super clean room however. Staff great good air conditioning I did like being near the malecon, however there isn't much there as far as things to do. Pool seemed cloudy and couldn't find a bathroom near it ( may have been but looked) . Rim of pool broken up and plaster coming off bottom. Felt safe .
Cons: Holes in wall and door Pool needing work and dirty No or non usable wifi in rooms No drinking water 12 oz a day) not enough no ice Run down Noisy Not as pictured with hammocks No lounge chairs for palapas out No taxis Nothing to do
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location on the beach so peaceful just only a short walk to town
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The property is quiet and next to the beach.
Cons: Beds were not very comfortable.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: staff, location
Cons: noisy nights at christmas time
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, plus on the beach close to malecón and historic center.
Cons: The only and it’s a stretch, compliant we had, the bar pours very weak drinks, but that’s just incidental.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location rocks, right on the ocean. Also conveniently on the outskirts of downtown, so easy to walk to restaurants, bars etc. Was happy with free parking and although we didn't use it, the heated pool is a nice bonus.
Cons: The rooms are quite dated and feel like a motel, although the mattress was comfy. Loreto is a not a fancy town though and I did not see a ton of higher end places to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s the only hotel in Loreto right on the sandy beach with palms. I love eating out on the patio looking out at the beach and palms. The staff are wonderful. It’s a ten minute walk to the wonderful plaza and Loreto.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location in the middle of the square, easy walk to everything. Charming older looking hotel. Breakfast was a surprise was not expecting white table clothes, china, & being served by a friendly waitress. Coffee, bread basket with yummy jam, a fresh fruit bowl with yogurt & granola, than potato frittata & retried beans. Only disappointment was the pool was closed for maintenance, which it looked like it needed badly.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was pretty good since it was only a continental breakfast. The fruit bowl with yogurt and granola was great.
Cons: The lighting around the stairs could have been brighter during the evening and also better lighting in the bathroom above the mirror.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel and staff.
7.0 Good
Pros: Authenticity of hotel
Cons: No hot water in shower
5.4 Okay
Pros: No hot water or lights
Cons: No hot water or lights
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic and so central to everything, we didn't even need a car. Hotel staff provide exceptional customer service and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was spotless and well appointed. We would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Sound carries very easily throughout the hotel. For example, we could clearly hear other guests' conversations and the activities of employees in the morning as they opened and prepared the hotel each day. There was a concert in the plaza one night that lasted until 2 a.m. and it sounded like the band was playing in our room. The hotel guests and employees are actually very quiet but the acoustics are a bit magnified based on the location and setup of the hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Rooms are nice but beds are way too hard. Impossible to sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous old mission / old Mexico hotel in the center of the historic district.....staff so sweet and helpful.

7.0 Good
Cons: Stiff rules, penny pinching. Mxp 300 for a dog overnight, counting the number of coffee cups at breakfast. Dinner very mediocre. The security guard is friendly and very helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Also good value. Pet friendly.
Cons: Liked my whole experience.
6.0 Good
Pros: Pool and grounds were nice. Breakfast was good.
Cons: Room was very sparsely decorated and not the cleanest. Something splashed on the wall, faucets had water build up, cot was horrible and full of springs, prices in the restaurant were really high compared to other restaurants in the area.
6.7 Good
Cons: Bathroom facilities needed repair. No hot water. Shower head did not function.
7.0 Good
Pros: Clean, comfortable beds. The staff is very friendly and they try very hard to make sure you are well taken care of. They try to speak English, but with hand gestures and cooperation you can get along. Food is ok, a decent wine collection and plenty of other spirits to indulge.
Cons: The place is old, it needs some love., and its obvious that they are trying in some areas and not so much in others.
6.7 Good
Pros: It was quiet and the grounds were pretty. Check in was easy.
Cons: My entree was burnt. When I asked for a discount because they did not have another chili relleno to remake the dish they didnt want to offer any consessions. It was a big hassle. The room had cobwebs and you could see thru the ceiling. We had to leave before breakfast started at 8 so we didnt get our free breakfast.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: SADLEY THE BOOKING DID NOT INCLUDE THE BREAKFAST
Cons: I SPENT 2 NIGHTS AND THEY DID NOT CLEAN THE ROOM
7.9 Good
Pros: Location is excellent for Nopoló and water activities in the bay and islands.
Cons: We didn’t like the design of the hotel itself. There isn’t any closed hall or living room where you can just sit and relax or have a coffee or a drink. Only place is the restaurant-bar besides the swimming pool but it doesn’t have a coffe machine there and it is an open space, so if it’s windy or cold or too hot, you don’t want to sit there.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The access to the beach and local buiseness was awesome. The rooms very nice.
Cons: It was unexceptually cold and we had to ask for blankets as there was no comforter on the beds.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The dinners we ordered were good the two nights we were there.
Cons: Our bed sheets hadn't been changed when we got to our room. The bottom sheet had gross pubic hair on it. The blankets were 2 narrow rectangular strips of itchy cloth that had stapled hems! It was nasty!
6.2 Good
Pros: The rooms were neat and clean with beautiful ocean views. The golf course was amazing! Very challenging with wonderful views of the mountais and the Sea .
Cons: First off, while the rooms are clesn and lovely, the floors are tile. If you go here, ensure you are not placed in a room that is below another guest. The tile floor enhances any and all noise from above...Very Noisy! Next, they advertise a "Sport Bar" at the hotel. While there is technically a bar the floor sbove the check in counter, It really doesnt deserve to be called a sports bar. In addition, while there was loud music, lights and a moldy foozball table in the bar, there was no bartender or any sign of an emoyee anywhere. Last off, the jacuzzi was never more than body temp warm. Even after repeated requests to heat it up, it rdmained only a few degrees above the pool temp.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location.
Cons: The room had a mildew smell. Sewer gas came out of the bathroom drains. The sink faucet and shower head didn’t work properly. There was no blanket on the bed, only sheets. We had to ask for a blanket, which we got fairly quickly. The heater did not work, just blew cold air out. The bar had the Super Bowl on 3 TVs which was great, but, the waiters were not helpful and our table was never bussed after the last customers, so we had to work around dirty dishes and glasses. We probably won’t come back here on our annual trips to Loreto.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very quiet and secluded. The town is small and safe. Hotel property is big and walks along the golf area were my favorite. Breakfeast was good.
Cons: Beds were not very comfortable.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff was kind. Room was clean. Location superb. Quiet.
Cons: Sadly run down. Attention to detail such as unattended planters needing foliage and landscaping neglected. Margaritas not so tasty. Appetizer so so.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Good location, nice beach, a few good staff members
Cons: Staff has attitude, is rude, cleanliness could be better, food at the restaurant is not good.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a big room with sea view. The beach is directly in front of the hotel.
Cons: Nothing.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Beautiful location, nice rooms but overall service and amenities are severely lacking. People were nice enough but I knowledgeable about the facility. No hot tub Restaurant has zero atmosphere Bar has zero atmosphere Work out room horrible Defiantly not what was advertised and too expensive.
4.5 Okay
Cons: I called twice before my trip and upon arrival I had requested the 3rd floor but they said no third floor even there was hardly anyone there, maybe a handful of guests only.

6.7 Good
Pros: Food was excellent, beautiful location, friendly staff and nice room.
