Rooms small beds to hard
Comfy sofas in the common area and nice view of the waterside.
Some of the bedrooms could have had a tv and mini bar.
Nice, clean room in a very nicely designed hotel. It has a distinct nautical vibe and as it sits on a pontoon, has water on both sides, which adds an Amsterdam-canal atmosphere. The breakfast was quite good, with lots of variety, including smoothies if you get in early enough, and the wifi fast and reliable. I appreciated the small desk in the room and the many spaces in the bar area where you could work on large tables. The hotel's ethos is community driven in a way that benefits the long-term unemployed. If indeed it's true, it's definitely a nice ideal to support. The hotel is also a very short walk from a DLR station and there is a small supermarket across the road.
The bed was comfortable for the most part but as it was twin beds pushed together to make a double, the join between the beds was a little too obvious when you tried to sleep across it - maybe a comforter or something underneath would help. I believe they have rooms with double beds but I think they must've been booked, so this is probably not a problem for all rooms.
Bought valentines upgrade - Plastic petals. Room size was way smaller than impression given. Price is unreasonable compared to other hotels. NO IRON? Had to go to an ironing room on another floor, irons were cold enough to press on your face and leaked. This place was so underwhelming for what was meant to be a special weekend away. There is a kettle, but you can't plug it in anywhere except for beside your bed using the little stool as a table due to lack of space or plugs. Hotel looks great from the outside, but should half the amount of rooms to make them a reasonable size for two people to stay in.
