The outdoor pool area and bar
Nothing, I got exactly what I paid for.
The hotel has a very nice bar zone with a nice design created with palm trees, olive trees, tables which are available. Also, they have a big pool which is quite clean with sunbeds available free of charge. The rooms have hairdryer, functioning AC and also a fridge which is really helpful during the heat waves. Also, the rooms were cleaned quite often. The staff was kind enough, we requested a room change for a double bed room and the manager was really nice and helped us out. So I suggest that if you are there and have a problem try to talk with the manager, we usually found him in the mornings near the reception. The food in the restaurant is average priced, we only tryed the gyros which was quite good. Same goes for drinks, the prices are just like in any restaurant in the faliraki zone. The stuff usually offered us peanuts or chips everytime we bought some beer or wine.
The rooms are a bit old, there is need for some improvements. The furniture is oldish, the twin beds that we had were quite uncomfortable. The power outlets are few and not placed near the bed which can be frustrating while using a laptop. The included breakfast is quite poor, I know that it's supposed to be low cost but I think there is possible to have a bit of variation, and maybe try to add some local products like feta cheese, vegetables, local fruits, also the coffee isn't grate, the water provided could be cold especially for the hot mornings. The position of the hotel is nice and a bit frustrating in the same time. It offers a beautiful view of the mountains and also the city lights at night, but it's around 30 min walk to Faliraki where most of the restaurants are. If you decide to rent a car than everything is grate since the parking is free at the hotel. Also, there are 2 nice beaches closer to the hotel (10 min walk) which are grate for snorkeling (Ladiko beach, Anthony Queen bay). We seen some signs for public transport, but it seemed that the last round from Faliraki was quite early, and we ended up walking back at midnight.
This is a family run hotel in a great location with great view over the excellent pool. It’s a short walk to a couple of great bays for swimming and snorkeling, about 20/ 30 mins by bus to Rhodes old town. The host Peter and his whole family made this a very memorable stay for us.
Not much to dislike
That this is a family run business and you can see how grandparents, parents and kids of a local Rhodes family work to make this hotel work. The location is absolutely brilliant: overlooking the southern coastline, overlooking the olive tree plants and mountains, and it is a 10 min walk from (in our view) best two bays of Rhodes - So so beautiful with crystal clear water and a lovely cafe in the bay, options to go snorkeling or diving or to rent a boat. Plus the very close old monastery Amos on the “house mountain” behind the hotel gives the most breathtaking 360 degree view of the island looking north over Faliraki and south towards the southern coastline. It is very quiet in this hotel with no neighboring hotels at all , although you can be on the other side of the hill in busy and entertaining Faliraki with hundreds of cafes ,shops and restaurants in no time (15 min on foot,3 min by car). You have everything - quiet and calm and option to go out to literally May entertainment you want in Faliraki . Because Rhodes-Town is only 20-25 min by car, too,it’s the perfect hotel to explore the ancient amazing history of this island. We have been here three times now and I can honestly say that it is the best place to stay on Rhodes. This is not your 5 star hotel facility-wise, in fact ,the bathrooms are a little dated (so don’t come here if you want 5 stars for a 2 star price) but this does not matter when you are welcomed like an old friend when you come back. By the way - the breakfast buffet by the pool - how cool is that! And you’re swimming in the pool while overlooking the hot mountains of Rhodes or are looking down to the coast while swimming . We are travelling lots ,but this is one of the very few places we come back regularly: because of the perfect location ,the nice and big pool ,the weekly BBQ offered by the Greek family, the amazing evening bar that the family built in addition to the restaurant that is there anyway.
Nothing. All great. We will come back next year!
