Their Mediterranean restaurant is excellent as well as the Lobby for tea time. The room is extremely nice and has full facilities, nespresso machine, mini bar, tea facilities , dressing room, and big bathroom with both shower and bath and two sinks. All is controlled via a kind of iPad which works great! I love also their concierge box. It is extremely central and situated in a luxury small shopping center.

Pros: Our first trip to China and The Peninsula certainly met our expectations with a pick-up in a beautiful new Mercedes at the airport and given we arrived at midnight, checked us in, in our room. The room was superb, clean and modern. The bed and pillows...tick ! Staff were fantastic and the facilities very great. Breakfast choice was outstanding. The roof bar was very good. Gave you bottled water every time you left the hotel.

Pros: This place was beautiful! I absolutely love the decorations and the unique pieces of art in every corner. The service was amazing and location was great within walking distance to the APM mall that had a great selection of quick/easy food but still internationally known (is Taste of Dadong). We used the hotel provided cars to do a Great Wall day trip and was perfect. We used the lower price (below the Benz) option and still had a wonderful private comfortable drive with a driver that recommended great stops along the way including lunch!

Cons: Regular taxi service is not available as you exit the hotel. You’ll need to use the hotels cars or drivers which are more expensive. The staff will use one of their apps to hire a car for you if you ask nicely though.

Cons: Room felt there were 10 people smoking in it when I arrived. Used deodorant and aftershave to try and get rid of the smell. I’m a smoker but don’t smoke in the room. That’s why I ordered the terrace. The terrace was dirty and no ashtray. Carpet and sofa have seen their days! WiFi non existent in the room however, ok in restaurant/bar.

Location was great, very safe area around the corner from a big shopping street and close enough to the forbidden city (a pleasant 30 min walk). Pros: What an amazing stay. Prior to our arrival I requested that balloons be in the room, as we were in China celebrating my boyfriend's birthday. Although they could not fulfill this request, we were greeted with cake and complimentary wine upon our arrival. Which we appreciated. The staff were very accommodating, willing to assist with every need. The breakfast buffet was delicious, it was a mix of both chinese and western food options. We were so impessed with Kata from the cafe she was always vigilant making sure our glasses were always filled and our plates never empty. She needs a promotion/ raise immediately. Pros: This is probably the best hotel we ever stayed. Large comfortable rooms, amazing choice of food for breakfast. Nice restaurant, friendly staff. It is conveniently located at a reasonable walking distance from Tiananmen and the forbidden city (nice walk through a nice residential area). Also pretty close to a supermarket.

Pros: They had an awesome rooftop bar.. With live guitar, fireplace outdoor deck with heaters.. Trendy but not annoyingly loud. Comfy intimate places to sit.. Can't say enough.. The room was clean, updated and comfortable. Free WiFi in the room. Was a short walk to forbidden city and T. Sq.. A couple malls nearby, McDonald's next door.. 7 11 a couple blocks away.. Get your western stuff including vodka, wine, snacks. Concierge was helpful, Front desk accomodating considering the only shocker that happened to us.. Got a confirmation number and payment withdrawal from my account. For our reservation only to arrive and was told that kayak cancelled my reservation.. Strange since they took the money. The hotel gave us last room, and settled with us after kayak returned the payment at the end of our 4 day stay. Could have been worse.. Kayak? No explaination.. No apology.. Go figure. And... Kayak got no commission.. Booked through hotel at same rate.

Cons: The staff was unprofessional without a proper greeting of “ni Hao “ or “welcome” when we checked in. She also got the booking wrong, I had to correct her to ask her double check as we were staying for 2 nights instead of 1. She insisted she was right at first, then later on said “oh, it is two nights”. There was no apologies afterwards either. There were a couple of pills left on the carpets, no proper vacuuming obviously. The hairdryer is an ancient device, not easily found in the modern market these days, it’s loud and slow. This is not a five star hotel, no quality services offered. We were very disappointed and will not stay here again. Recommending others to reconsider when booking. Chong Wen Meng New World hotel was where we stayed later on, for three days, million times better and indeed a home away from home.

Cons: Well we weren’t allowed to leave the hotel after 5:00pm on Saturday and Sunday. The hotel didn’t inform us of this. The government had let them know ten days ahead of time. The spa was closed all weekend. The restaurants in the hotel were closed after 5:00pm. There was nothing to do after 5:00pm and they didn’t offer a discount for the inconvenience nor did we receive anything complimentary such as a breakfast to make up for this inconvenience. The waiters don’t understand an order such as salad without dressing. The breakfast buffet was good. The staff asked me in the middle of my breakfast how I wanted to pay because I didn’t order breakfast with my room. The layout of the rooms are weird and it took me a long time to find all the light switches and curtain buttons, why are they scattered instead in one central location? I left laundry in the bag to be washed but received a note saying they weren’t able to wash it because I forgot to sign the ticket and a receipt for the cost of doing laundry even though it was not washed

Cons: -Staff attitude was absolutely appalling. They confirmed they would book tickets to the forbidden city via chat the day before we arrived, but when we got there and asked for our tickets and showed them the conversation, they said there were no tickets booked for us. No apology or explanation was given. Before we left the hotel the cleaner rushed in to make sure we hadn’t stolen or damaged anything, and the receptionist called her before letting us check out. -Not clean. Loads of dust in the bedroom and hair found in the bathroom. -Very crammed space. No room to leave bags etc. All in all terrible value for money.

Cons: We needed to clean the shower floor to get some of the grime off. There is black mould embedded in the silicon around the shower. The staff at check in could have been a little friendlier - very abrupt. We called to say that the air conditioner wasn't working and was told that whole of Beijing having hot winter and conditioner broken is whole Beijing. The next day I asked the lady who cleaned the room and she reset it and it worked.

Cons: The washbin in the bathroom was dirty, the water in the toilet and washbin did no go down, the furniture is rather old, the hotel is very long and it has taken me few minutes to walk from the elevator to the room. It was not possible to set comfortable temperatures in the room - all the time it was way too hot.

Pros: We loved our experience from start to finish. I don’t want to ever stay anywhere else. In addition to the hotel being steeped in history, the staff were the kindest, the facilities excellent, the food was out of this world. The pool and workout facilities are top notch. Our trip was split between two hotels in Beijing (itinerary was Beijing-Shanghai-Beijing), and if we could have stayed at the NUO for the last part of our trip as well, we would have.

Pros: I spent two nights this week. They were very friendly and responsive to every request promptly. Every room is a suite by design and decorated with classic furnitures and paintings. The room is also very quiet yet the hotel location is the prime location at the very center of Beijing. To my big and pleasant surprise, I found a birthday cake and a nicely hand-written birthday card by the the guest service manager Cherry when I returned to the room after a long day. It truly made my stay feel at home away from home. I would definitely like to go back in the future.

Cons: The turned off the aircon for all bedrooms in October and it was uncomfortably warm. The bedroom we stayed in was tired and dated in comparison to the reception area. The mold in the shower was extremely bad. Bedroom was definitely not five star standard.

On the entrance don't have a place to wait with your friend or family (no armchairs or chais) They have some single small open spaces to stay but not comfortable.

Cons: We ate in the hotel restaurant one evening, sadly the service and quality of the food was not up to what we expected having experienced the rest of the hotel, and breakfast. The staff seeemd more interested in laying up breakfast than serving us, and the English translations on some of the menu items were odd. (I know that Chinese/English translations are often the source of amusement but for a hotel like this was ridiculous!)

I reserved a Superior Room, and it was spacious, comfortable, quiet and spotless. The bathroom was very clean, too. In-room facilities included TV, kettle, fridge, safe, and also a desktop computer running a dual-language (Chinese-English) version of WinXP. Internet access was available via both Wi-Fi and a LAN (RJ45) port. The connection was overall stable during my stay (4 days).

Cons: Location is 15 walk from the Forbidden City, which is good for one touristic day. For the rest of your stay, you may want a place close to bars and restaurants, so that you can go out easily. Getting back at the hotel late at night would cost you around 25 RMB taxi. They also take a deposit to your stay when you check in, that is in addition to your room payment at the end of your stay. The deposit should be cashed back some days after you leave the place.

Cons: Carpet in room was disgusting, bath was moldy, general, condition not great. Clientele was questionable. Ex. A rather blah and over priced breakfast buffet was further damaged by a guest openly sneezing out white chunks which landed on the carpet right in front of the buffet (and probably other places) and were left there by the guest and staff as if this was a normal occurrence. We usually try to stay in modest local type establishments but in retrospect wish we had gone with a larger western chain, many of which were nearby.

Cons: If you find fault, the hotel is a bit old.And the staff speaks in English very well.But it isn't problem.

Pros: In perfect location. It's just between the Wangfujing shopping street and Palace Museum. Nearby convenient store and restaurants. This is my 3rd time to stay here. It's also affordable.

Pros: This hotel has a great location, 5min walking to several important spots: Tiananmen square, and great shopping area ; metro station and bus stop (2 min). Has a beautiful rooftop, perfect to evening break, with a gorgeous view. Friendly and available staff

Pros: The staff was very helpful and kind, two of them knew english pretty well, the room was comfortable and clean
Cons: The hotel is near some great attraction but unfortunately in a street where there no restaurant and a lot of security check booth which make it harder to wander around, but it's not the hotel fault

Pros: The location is great for tourists. The price is reasonable. There are decent amenities. Couldn’t complain. Just don’t go during National Day. The roads will be closed.
Cons: It’s a little outdated. The breakfast is a little expensive. And people smoke in the rooms when they aren’t supposed to. The smoke lingers into the hallway but that’s China.
