Locations listed online were impossible to find, and in a few cases didn’t exist/were incorrect. Called over a half dozen times and not a single time did I get through to an actual person and not just because I didn’t hold long enough but because eventually the calls would disconnect themselves!Reviewed 30 Sep 2022

What a joke! Booked a car online and received a confirmation that it was reserved. It even said no further contact required just turn up and pick up your car. So we turn up and there is no car available. It was a last minute booking and the car was urgently required and the lack of it caused a great deal of stress and unnecessary hassle. I would never use Hertz again and would think twice about using your service again. An awful experience.Reviewed 16 Aug 2022

When I called for pick-up (offered on the website) the location didn't seem to have any kind of system in place for it. I was picked up by the employee that I spoke to on the phone in the rental car I was to take. I wasn't offered the option to not purchase additional insurance and the price turned out to be higher than I was offered on KAYAK. Upon return, the car wasn't checked and I had forgotten to fill up the tank again. So for a quarter of a tank I was charged $75 without any kind of notice or confirmation. I was not allowed to even rent the car! Even though it was perfectly fine to use my debt card to rent a car from Hertz a week earlier to drive to the airport, renting a car to drive from the airport back home was not allowed. I set up this rental about a month earlier and at no time did they tell me that I would need a credit card to obtain the car at the airport. I was stuck in Indianapolis overnight. Could not find an available car at with any other car rental companies, BUT WAS ABLE TO RENT A UHAUL TRUCK AND THAT IS HOW I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME THE FOLLOWING DAY!Reviewed 24 Mar 2022

Picking up the vehicle went smoothly, and the price was very competitive compared to other options. Our only point of friction is that a witch must have cursed us to always get Jeep Gladiators when we rent cars without specifying a model. We drove around in a big goofy Tonka Truck for the whole holiday, for a second time, to the amusement of all our friends we saw. Who even rents Jeep Gladiators on purpose? We don't know, but when it's an accident, it's always us.Reviewed 3 Jan 2022
