9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is beautiful. The feeling of living in the nature due to the sounds of birds and squirrels and monkeys running around.
Cons: The tiles in the bathroom need to be replaced because they look old fashioned.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The environment. Courteous staff and the excellent food. 22 years of my memory at Habarana Village the environment and the set remains the same. For that I continue to stay at this location.
Cons: Lack of seating and reserving tables for guests in the Restaurant during meal times.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Pool was good , and in a convenient Location to Sigiriya / Dambulla /Habarana / Wild life
Cons: * The arrival welcome wasn't good , Security were not informed of our booking * From the car park we were forced to bring in our won Baggage * 1st Night bed turn down wasn't done and completely ignored * We were on time for breakfast, the Coconut water had been available but the jar was empty, we ask 3 personal ( Action Egg Chef/ A waiter and a Dining Room Supervisor) but no one was interested to serve us Coconut water which is very Common in Sri Lanka, when we made the complain the ( Sous Chef/ F&B Manager ) both said that they were unaware of our request. which shows that the communication of such simple request is not filter down to the relevant personal. * When requested for Tea A dining room supervisor offers us Made up TEA ??? WHY would I go to a 4 star Hotel to be served a Made up Tea, instead I should go to a road side shop for such a Service. The toilet Shower floor was dirty and when made a request to clean the same , the Housekeeping supervisor said that IT is clean and the white stains are from the Wax they have applied to the floor , but for our surprise it is not all over the floor and except near the Gully area, ( Plz refer the photos) * Our room only had one Veranda Chair and made a request to the reception to have one , but it was never done so we couldn't sit out for a chat that night. Over all the attitude of the staff and facility for Sri Lankan s were bad , they illiterate the Local guest, the hotel only had 77 guest , and its around 33% Occupancy, and st ill they failed to provide some basic facility , when I made the complain we were offered Free Take away sandwich for safari, Evening Snakes, even offer to bring in our friend s to the hotel for a corkage free drink, but on the first day we were strongly declined for the same, and was forced to purchase from the bar.

Cons: Food was not good Buffet was not arranged properly Lack of cleanliness in doorways corridors Staff seems to be not happy
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Only location was fantastic and nice environment to spend the time.
Cons: Disappointing about the value for money. No facilities are available as updated in the booking. com. Gym was closed. Welcome was good. Staff are not properly trained. They served only for owners family and friends. No attention at all for other guests.

Pros: Friendly people and nice food also room
Cons: All is good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: No bin in the room. Bottled water has been changed.
6.0 Good
Pros: The quality of the breakfasts and buffet. The location and setting of the hotel. The friendliness of the staff.
Cons: The á la carte meals were poor. The staff in the dining room and bar could benefit from training to international standards. For example, they could learn when and how to take away plates etc.; that being asked to fill one guest’s glass with water may be a signal that the other guests’ glasses may require the same; how to charge drinks to a room. The wifi could be made to work in the rooms. The hotel overall was not value for money.

Pros: The aircon and fridge were great and a very welcome addition to the room! Best night’s sleep :) And the evening meal was so delicious ... thank you for explaining all the food too, especially the wonderful winged bean / dambala that was my first but hopefully not last. Thank you again for a wonderful base from which to explore Damballa, Ritigala and Sigiriya.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful treehouses with very nice semi outdoor bathrooms, you really feel connected to the environment. The home cooked food is delicious and the family are so keen to help and make arrangements for your stay.
Cons: There was quite a lot of noise from local roadworks, but it is full of forest sounds anyway so earplugs are useful!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great and friendly people who make everything happen that you want!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The tree house is such a great adventure and honestly we have not seen many bugs in the room nor the outdoor bathroom, although it was raining (don't forget your mosquito repellent!). There was one mantis on our floor but we kindly asked it out :) The air-con worked properly, the owners and staff were very polite and helpful, they have organized a safari trip for us and served us very good Lankan breakfast and dinner.
Cons: There was no wifi in the tree house, which we didn't mind, but if it's a must have for you, better book an apartment instead - they have wifi there. The room was a bit small, so with 2 pieces of luggage it was a small but doable challenge ;)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Was a great experience. The room was comfortable and spacious enough for 2 people.
Cons: There is very little in walking distance like shops or places to eat Lunch is not available at the premises

Pros: The TOC is a wonderful place of peace. The cottages are roomy and clean. The garden is spacious, beautiful and well kept. Amazing food is also available at the TOC. There is a pool to cool down after a trip to one of the nearby sites. The staff at TOC is amazingly friendly and helpul. Trips can be booked through the hotel and are perfectly organized. The TOC even has it's own naturalist to take a bird watching trip with and learn a lot about Sri Lankas beautiful nature.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We used The Other Corner as our base for visiting Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya and Minneriya NP. Loving nature and birds, we felt right happy here and would have liked to stay longer. I can also recommend the nature walk with the excellent (!) in-house naturalist. We asked her to come with us on our safari (organised by The Other Corner) and we were very glad we did - the driver was very good too and they made a great team. The pool was lovely, the food was great and our chalet was very comfortable. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Highlight of our tour of Sri Lanka!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just a brilliant place: great staff who couldn’t do enough for us and helped us organise days trips and onwards travel; incredibly comfy rooms; beautiful food; and in a pretty magical location by a massive lake where you can watch stunning sunsets.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Helpful conceirge, great naturalist walk (v knowledgeable, saw 4 types of eagle. This knowledge enhanced the rest of our SL stay) Lovely to be close to wildlife. Butterflies and monkeys everywhere but also a quiet, calm place to stay.
Cons: Rooms weren't as well cleaned as they could have been and bathroom was a little shabby
7.5 Good
Pros: We just stayed a night. The location is excellent being centrally located to access Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Trinco and even Wilpattu wildlife park . The staff were very helpful and courteous went out of their way to make us comfortable. The food was good generous portions. The atmosphere definitely creates a feeling of being one with nature.
Cons: Minor maintenance issues but I am sure it would have been sorted if we stayed on.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was excellent . Food was excellent . The place got out attraction from the beginning ..
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Other Corner is set in lovely grounds and the Tree Cottage was well-finished and clean. The grounds are set right by a lake where we saw birds during the day and bats flying over at sunset - amazing! Having a pool was a nice treat after a day visiting sites in the heat. The staff were the friendliest we had during our whole trip in Sri Lanka and couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome and help us to make the most of our time in the Cultural Triangle. They organised transport for us to visit Sigiriya, Dambulla Caves and Polonnaruwa and a safari to Kaudulla NP (and would have helped with anything else). Breakfast was included and the restaurant was a lovely place to have dinner. If you stay in Habarana, stay here!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The design of the room is amazing and the staff are very nice
Cons: More facilities and entertainment

Pros: Room facilities are very good. Breakfast was fantastic. Hospitality is very good. Owner (both husband and wife) are very kind and friendly. We were very satisfied.
Cons: It is good to have some variety meals for lunch and dinner with different range of prices.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room and bathroom are pretty basic, but good and mostly clean. The breakfast is pretty good. The host gave us usefull recommendations where to Go in the area and City.
Cons: In comparison to other acoomodations in Sri Lanka it seems to be overpriced. The bathroom could have been more clean. There are a Lot of mosquitos around the area and the rooms, because there is a huge Rice field beneathe the guesthouse.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean indeed. Well maintained. Food - too much couldn’t eat it all. Hosts very helpful. This is the second time we have stayed here in the last two years. Excellent all round.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice location and rooms; very good breakfast and dinner; very nice to sit outside
Cons: If you want to pay by credit card, they insist on a 3% surcharge which is not marked at booking.com; nevertheless the prices are very fair so this does not hurt
7.9 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Warm water. Great.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We spent two nights here. Our room was upstairs with big glass windows with lovely views across the paddy fields and there was a sofa so that you could sit in comfort and enjoy the view. We were able to make tea in the room. Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. Shamila was very nice and very helpful, she warned us about the ticket scams and told us where to get tickets from. We hired bikes from her at a small cost, it was a short cycle ride to the ruins and made getting around so much easier. Food was tasty and plentiful.
Cons: The dining area overlooks a paddy field. While this was picturesque and not such a problem for breakfast, in the evening it does mean there are a lot of midges mosquitoes and flying insects.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The host is so friendly, she helps with everything you need like bicycle and information about trains etc. The breakfast and dinner are very big and very delicious!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Owner of this stay is always smiling, friendly and nice lady. Clean rooms, spacious beds and AC, wifi is working in the rooms. Also our Srilankan guide confirm, she is great cook and also I confirm too.

We had an Ayurvedic massage and steam bath at a local center it was fantastic experience. We had four lovely days at Mutu Village. I highly recommend them.

Mutu is a fabulous cook and the meals were authentic and varied and delicious. The service was very good too. We were 2 couples travelling together, and cannot recommend it highly enough. We also enjoyed a meal at Ajit's restaurant Curry and Rice. The homestay is ideal for nature lovers too.

Pros: Very friendly staff, amazing breakfast, surraunded by jungle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very exotic with these tree houses. The houses are spacious and well equiped. The bathroom is spectacular with open view at trees, the nature immersion feeling is fantastic. The breaksfast was also a good surprise, very good food. There are a lot of mosquitos in the evening (like every place in Sri Lanka) but with some repelents from the hotel (just ask for them if they don’t have the initiative) it was very ok ti stay outside, no bite at all. The owner has also a beautifull restaurant named “Curry & Rice” with very good and diversified food and fine athmospere.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner is it’s absolutely lovely, so so welcoming & kind, can help you book any tour, give you advice on activities to do yourself too. I highly recommend the kaudulla safari especially if you are in the season for the elephant gathering as we were! The guide that works for him is absolutely fantastic, he spotted numerous animals pretty much completely hidden in the bush! And we saw around 200 elephants!! The property is basic but lovely, the wild monkeys joined us one morning on the terrace after breakfast! Breakfast was a feast! Laid out at the time you wish, omelette, stacks of toast & an array of fresh fruit & preserves, tea & coffee.
Cons: If you get bitten by mosquitos then bring the bug spray!! This is nothing bad against the property but just a warning, it is likewise across Sri Lanka. You may also be joined by a friendly frog & a gecko in the bathroom haha. Which just adds to the charm of where you are staying!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A super friendly and helpful owner giving us many tipps and took us to safari and sigiriya. Good breakfast, near busstop so it was easy to go to dambulla and polonnaruwa.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner was exceptional always available. We did two tours with him and the jeep safari tour for a very good price. Highly recommend it. The rooms are simple but comfortable and breakfast is good.
Cons: Wi-Fi was very slow and one suggestion I have is to improve the appearance of the bathrooms, as the flush had a leak and the window doesn’t close properly, so loads of spiders and even a frog could come in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner is great! He took us to Ritigala (3000 rps) and Pindurangala (1000rps) and even when we went to a different place (we couldnt cancel our reservations) he came to pick us up and drive us there and back, free of charge. All in all, a really nice expirience!

Pros: Very friendly homestay! We have been here for 3 nights and if we had no schedule, we would stay here for more days. Good atmosphere, clean room and relax zone on terrase before the room. The breakfast was either european or sri lanka style- thumbs up. The kind owner cared about us from the first moment till our departure. He recommended us some trips, he took us anywhere we wanted, moreover he provides excellent jeep safari tours. We were very satisfied with this guy and felt safe and comfortable here. Very recommended.

Great breakfast even if you wake up at 6,30 in the morning ... he is always ready ! 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Resort is nicely tucked away in a quiet environment. Everything is kept spotlessly clean! The pool is being well maintained. The grounds are closed off by a gate for safety at night. The room was spacious, very clean, has a large bathroom, warm shower, good airconditioning. I slept very well. The breakfast was really nice and they made me the pancakes with grated coconut I so like! In the morning a giant grizzly squirrel is doing its rounds through the tree tops. The staff is super friendly and made my stay as comfortable as possible. A big thank you to support my arrival in the middle of the night and being so gracious to carry my luggage all the way up to the room. I had a nice mixed salade in the restaurant. Good internet in the restaurant area. A bit less in the rooms. I was a female solo traveler this time: I felt very at ease and safe here.
Cons: There was nothing to not like!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Vaana is a stunning location with fantastic staff. The pool was awesome at the end of our day, and the staff really went over an above to make sure we were comfortable, had fun, and were aware of all the activities. Some examples of extra mile - they let us join them in the kitchen to learn how to make some local dishes, they arranged a few activities for us without adding commission, and they personally dropped us to the bus station at end of our stay. Highly recommend

Pros: Honestly everything. This place was incredible and I will definitely recommend this to anyone I know heading to Sri Lanka. The facilities were amazing and the staff went above and beyond to make your stay the best possible. The view of Sigiriya rock from the infinity pool was gorgeous and the food was delicious. There were also free badminton courts which was fun. I would recommend getting a tuk-tuk from just along the road from the hotel because tuktuk drivers take advantage if they know you are staying there. We tried to get a tuk-tuk which should have been 1700 and they tried charging us 2900.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Yoga class, beautiful garden area, nice to stroll, breakfast, room, swimming pool, Sri lankan dinner, room had privecy and was spotless clean and nice.
Cons: A staff in main restaurant didn't feel very friendly or attentive, but other staffs were.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel itself is contained within a gated area. Once you have progressed to the main reception, you approach the reception via a fairly long set of stairs (easy walking) to the most glorious view on the other side of the infinity pool where the view stretches beyond to the plains and then the hills in the distance. It is truly beautiful. The pool is really stunning and is open until 9pm at night so you can bathe under the stars which is what my husband and I did one night after returning from a safari. The food is catered generally by a buffet which was good quality and plenty of choice. Again the staff were exceptional. Our room was great - plenty of room and nice big bathroom. I'm not sure how quiet it would be if the hotel was full though. Sigiriya is a great location for safaris too.
Cons: The grounds are well maintained but there is rather a hum - we think this stemmed from watering the gardens with stagnant water. The wi-fi rather drops out of service quite frequently so one has to keep logging in. Didn't bother me but my husband found it a bit irritating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool, service, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff :)
Cons: We didn’t stay long enough to enjoy this beautiful hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic view from the main hotel area and pool, service was excellent, food options and quality likewise. Would recommend.
Cons: The twin bed in our room wasn't set up on arrival into the room, but they rectified this fully within ten minutes. Full credit to the staff

Pros: Excellent!
Cons: There is no internet in rooms

7.0 Good
Pros: Convenience to Sigiriya
Cons: Expensive compared with other hotels in our 6 day road trip Facilities could do with a facelift
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel staff in general was very nice, the food was nice and friendly too, even if very expensive. The place to see the Lion's rock is great.
Cons: When we arrived, the staff offered us a barbecue for 2500 RS for 2 people. The next day, we were very surprised to discover that the price was eventually about 4000 RS per person, which was way too high compared to what you can get in Sri Lanka outdoors restaurants. Better to eat outside for the same thing and more than half the price. What was also very surprising is that the next day, the barbecue dinner was empty, no one took the diner whereas the day before it was full (about 20 people). Considering this, we found that the hotel management wasn't honest towards the customers.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Rooms are spacious and clean, the location overlooking the rock of Sigiriya is amazing. The buffet breakfast is very good but a shame it is mainly continental as opposed to traditional Sri Lankan.
Cons: The staff at reception had a very inappropriate and disappointing behaviour when we arrived which is not aligned to what one could expect of such hotel standards. Obviously the current global context is quite particular and the uncertainty around what is happening with Covid19 makes it somewhat scary for certain people however that does not mean foreigners should be mistreated (upon arrival we were barely given a hello, asked to hand sanitize our hands straight away and told our temperature needed to be checked). During our 24 hours stay, the hostility we felt was just not right unfortunately and as result means we will not ever come again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to Sigiriya rock and pindurangula. Great meals.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located near the rock, in beautiful ground, with a lovely garden and wonderful pool overlooking Sirigiya rock. Rooms are all one level, very well appointed and comfortable. Buffet breakfast is excellent befitting a high end hotel. We did not eat dinner and cannot comment. If you get a discount on the room, it is an outstanding deal.
Cons: Reception on arrival was sordidly slow with registration. It is not clear why it should take 20 minutes to process paperwork and we were the only one.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent place to stay - staff extremely friendly and helpful, especially Kalpani in the restaurant. Housekeeping made the best towel animals I have ever seen. Great location close to the Lion Rock. Would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Barbecue buffet a bit overpriced.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, the view from the swimming pool is really splendid. Most of the people just stay one night, but its worth staying two or three nights just to relax a bit. Breakfast was excellent. We stayed for dinner and there also food was nice , wine also ;-) and the service was very nice ! staff is very helpful ! There was a live singer and a magician for the kids, nice ! Go and see a sunrise !
Cons: euh ... nothing ...

Pros: Amazing hotel , very spacious Cottages, very clean, comfortable beds, very friendly staff. great location, excellent buffet for all meals, international and local food.
Cons: No Wifi in rooms, only in lobby
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful environment, nice combination with nature. A homely atmosphere with friendly staff. Excellent food.
Cons: Would have been better if WiFi was available for rooms. But still in a way it was better as we could enjoy the nature more.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location inside a park with nice view on the lion rock from swimming pool.
Cons: Second time I come here , staff better before especially for the restaurant, this time waiters don’t speak English and didn’t know the menu also when order one dish come back 10 minutes later , not available on that 3 times!!! Each time 10 minutes later come back not available !!!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely setting, lots of nature & great view of the rock from the pool. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The food was good, we had dinner the first night & breakfast each morning.
Cons: The pool area was a bit tired looking & the pool was full of leaves but can’t be helped with all the trees surrounding the property. They did try & clean these out daily. Still didn’t stop us going in for a dip after our trek up the rock.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly positioned for easy access to Sigiriya Rock. Nice secluded rooms set in extensive grounds. Lovely swimming pool.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: One can’t help but feeling transported away to a tropical paradise on arrival at SV. The whole estate is teaming with life; for lack of other tourists due to the Covid-19 outbreak we had critters, birds and reptiles for company which made the whole experience all the more unforgettable. The stand-out feature of the property was without a doubt the extraordinary view of Sigiriya rock which looms proudly over the delightful child-friendly swimming pool from dusk till dawn.
Cons: We couldn’t comment on the facilities as many were closed (eg the Ayurvedic centre).

7.9 Good
Pros: New hotel, very clean, beautiful entrance and Swimming pool Staff were very nice and kind, some stuff were forgotten in our room, they were quite fast getting back (1st night no towels, second night no refill of soap) Facilities are great with the pool and we took a massage, very good!
Cons: Disappointment was the location. We stayed 3 nights and we were isolated, nothing to see nor walk around once you are back to the hotel. But for 1 or 2 nights should be fine as the place is quiet. Last thing was the food. Again I think for 3 nights because of the location, we had to eat at the hotel, and honestly for this type of hotel food quality could be much better. And quality is one thing, but the rates applied were really too expensive. Some dish were invoices 2500/2700 Rp and were not nice. So my feeling is because we were “blocked” in the hotel, price applied were high because anyway you can’t go anywhere else. So effort on the food or price to be applied.
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: It was in an isolated location. Full of mosquitos, rooms smelt dank and cupboards smelt of cockroaches. There was a frog in the bathroom. And when we decided to move somewhere else for the next 2 nights the hotel refused to refund the payment for the days we did not stay there. Terrible!
6.7 Good
Pros: I loved the location.
Cons: The bed sheets were really scratchy. Not cotton.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The tree house with music and barbeque night..
Cons: Everything was fine but we were alone.. people should come back to their normal life style to enjoy such a lovely places like amaara..
7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was excellent and was made available extra early to leave early to Sirigyia.
Cons: Only stayed one night, dinner (beafsteak and tiramisu) was not so good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Can enjoy the wild life outside... Nice water stream. Wonderful tree house...
Cons: Good if they let us stay at tree house in the night...

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Treehouse with outdoor en suite was fun! Staff were super friendly. Best breakfast we had all holiday and we tried out the owners newly opened restaurant in town too 'Curry and Rice'

Pros: A lovely stay in a rustic treehouse with an open air bathroom. The room was decorated well with a king size bed which was very comfortable. We enjoyed the little porch in the evening. They arranged our transportation from picking us up at the airport at 4:00 am to dropping us off in Kandy. The dinner was delicious cooked by the owners wife. We had an Ayurvedic massage and steam bath at a local center it was fantastic experience. We had four lovely days at Mutu Village. I highly recommend them.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel choice in Habarana. Off the main road. The room had much character and was really charming. Very cool to have a tree next to the bed. The bathroom was open air. They arranged transportation in the area as well as airport pick up. The dinner made by the wife were very good . Breakfast was amble. Very nice stay in a rustic setting in a tree house.

Pros: Everything was perfect. Room was nice, clean and convenience. Breakfast was variety and tasty.
Cons: The road to the resort was not good and the google map didn't take us the right way to go.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ajit was warmly welcoming and the whole ambience was excellent. The gardens were beautiful. Ajit was always great at helping us to plan our days and organise everything for us so efficiently.

Pros: Very nice owner and staff. The rooms in the trees are really beautiful, huge and clean. Very pleasant to be in the middle of nature.
Cons: Nothing particular

8.8 Excellent
