Pros: Everything
Cons: Noisy bar music
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent, the staff extremely helpful and the property was magnificent.
Cons: The room was too dark and there were too many steps to reach the room.
8.2 Excellent
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Incredible hotel. Stunning design, beautiful spacious rooms. Amazing views from the pool level. Wonderful breakfast. Perfect location.
Cons: The rooms surround a hip, busy (and loud) outdoor restaurant where the music plays until late at night on weekends. Our room was below the bar and the bass from the bar’s music system also comes into the room until later in the evening on weekends. Floors between rooms are also thin so we dealt with our upstairs neighbour shouting on the phone until 2am. Not the fault of the hotel though...just the increasing number of inconsiderate travellers these days.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed 2 nights in La Casa del Rector with my girlfriend. We loved the service and everything about this establishment. Carlos and his team were very attentive. Finally, after the check out they even let us stay at the hotel (in the common area of course) because our bus to continue our trip was at the end of the afternoon. We liked every details and the pool on the rooftop was absolutely fantastic! We recommend you that hotel not to only sleep but to enjoy it.
Cons: Nothing! Our stay was incredible!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Elegant surroundings, wonderful staff, but too many steps to reach room.
Cons: Too many steps. Not enough shelves in bathroom.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Instalation inside the hotel and a wonderful panoramic view from the hotel....
Cons: No parking facilities inside the hotel, it was confusing to reach to the hotel, paid tips to outside hotel person to reach in the destination... also the streets are one way, not possible to keep your car infront of the hotel gate even for 2-3 mins due to flow of traffic
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The building is great and unique, rich in artistic works. They renovated it only a year ago. Large rooms, large bathroom and excellent water flow. The common areas are pleasant to sit down and the view is lovely
Cons: When we arrived at the hotel they gave us a room from the one we ordered. The receptionist claimed that it was not their problem but that of the booking site and that they had no place in the hotel. Just as I went downstairs and showed her that I had booked a room with a balcony, she suddenly found a room. It was an unpleasant experience for a high class hote Be aware that the regular room doesn't have a window.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel, kind and helpful staff, great location. We hope to come back to Casa del Rector!
Cons: Nada. We loved it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was incredible. It was beautifully decorated and the room was extremely comfortable. It was a modern yet historical property with an amazing view from the 2nd floor pool area and an incredible infinity pool. The food was also delicious and the service was mostly excellent. Overall highly recommended! Worth every penny.
Cons: There wasn’t anything to not like about the property; however, the service was at times lacking. Our group also had a poor experience with the hotel GM which put a damper on our pool experience. Other than that, our stay was fantastic.

Pros: Charming hotel that made us feel as if we were staying in a private villa of wealthy friends. Spacious rooms furnished to a high standard with a spacious bathroom with a jacuzzi bathtub and separate shower. Large comfortable bed with stylish sofa and a wooden floor accentuated class. Great staff especially Sylvana and Violeta in reception and Jose Louis and Alberto in the restaurant. We also enjoyed dining in the restaurant that served high quality food at very reasonable prices.
Cons: WiFi needs to be improved.

7.0 Good
Pros: Great room very large. Good bed and great bathroom. Staff worked very hard to give good service. always being cleaned, swept, mopped.
Cons: The Jacuzzi tub was broken and never heard why Itwas never fixed. Plugs in the bathroom didn't work. I told them and they never fixed them. I was there a week. I you tried to call room service, phone never rang.you would have to call the desk and have room service call back. Room service menu was no good. They never provided a current one. Went to the spa and booked a hot rock message. On arrival to Spa was told they had no hot Rock? What! Its a great hotel but not 5 star.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host treated us like family. Very helpful and accommodating to our needs., Went beyond the call of duty in helping us with local travel arrangements and restaurant and other suggestions.
Cons: I can’t think of anything.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Staff is very friendly and helpful and the collective areas are nice.
Cons: We were very disappointed by this highly rated hotel. The room was a disgrace (see picture). The bed was small for 2 and unstable, there was one little blanket for both of us and another one but we froze anyway during the night. Everything was falling: from the toilet to the furnitures. The main window of the room was not locking. We also didn't manage to sleep much since it was a bit windy and the plexiglass cover on the patio kept shaking all the night. We were even given a paper with a lot of recomendations in how to use the facilities and stating that we would need to pay a fine in case we rob anything, doesn't create the friendliest of environments when the start assume that you will rob something it makes a very unconfortable feeling specially after you see the room and feel totally robbed yourself! We got tricked by the very high rate on booking, but definitely the reality doesn't match the rate. At similar price you can have much better options in the city center.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Continental style, buffet breakfast taken in attractive, photogenic courtyard. Interior room had minimal noise from traffic despite location on busy street. Friendly, helpful, cheerful and welcoming staff without being intrusive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at the Villa Sueno Azul for 2 weeks while studying Spanish at the Escuela Falcon. A 15 minute walk to the center enabled us to experience the atmosphere of this neighborhood - small shops. markets, people and families going about their daily lives. We remain so appreciative of Mali who is so knowledgeable about local venues and events. She was interested in our daily efforts at school and helpful in furthering our practice. Mali even arranged for a good, safe driver to take us to San Miguel de Allende and pick us up two days later. We felt well cared for at the Villa Sueno Azul especially important for our lengthy stay.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was sufficient to start the day. We liked the fresh fruit especially.
Cons: Normally we don’t spend this much on a room but were both sick with different issues so decided to upgrade to “quiet room” and because of illnesses, glad we did. That said, given the place was hardly full, perhaps a bit of a discount.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, the staff, the atmosphere...everything!!! Loved being in an authentic building as well.
Cons: Zero
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Homely atmosphere and bright communal areas.
Cons: N/a
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were less than 10 min walk to the center of the historic town and we felt like we were in. Private home. Great breakfast with pastries and fruit and cereal and toast and coffee. We had a back room off the street do it was very quiet
Cons: It took a long time to get the hot water going but when it did, it was hot! Bathroom was a bit cramped and no shelf space to put toiletries.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect. Breakfast was substantial. Room decor was charming.
Cons: The water temperature in the shower was difficult to adjust. I was not aware that we would have a window that faced a courtyard within the hotel.

Pros: Good location near the center but on a quiet street. Beautiful old building and nice decorated rooms with with a good mattresses. Everything worked fine including the hot water. There was an in room safe.
Cons: No hotel parking but there is a public parking garage 2 blocks away. There's really no need for a car in Guanajuato anyway. There is no airconditioning in the rooms but AC is rarely needed in Guanajuato.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, the hotel was clean, comfortable, and beautiful. The staff was amazing, very helpful and friendly.
Cons: The bathroom was a little small for our family of 4.
7.0 Good
Pros: Helpful employees ready to solve any dilemma
Cons: Very noisy room, difficult to get to sleep at night due to loud parties going on till late at night. Early mornings loud dog barking starting around 4 am
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facility is exceptional in every way.
7.0 Good
Pros: Very good view out of the room. Comfortable large bed. Fairly decent size room. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating and helpful. Excellent location that was fairly quiet.
Cons: Breakfast was not very good, especially for this class of hotel, expected much, much more. Crazy bathroom setup where the tub was up several steps and then a very deep tub, very, very dangerous. Did not want to use the shower out of fear of falling. Nowhere in the room to sit with a writing surface.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, building, colors, friendly staff,
Cons: Toilet seat was 1 1/2 feet from wall ha ha ha When I booked it, it was ---$ a night but when I arrievex I got a different price!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Location and friendly service by everyone, the front desk.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Terrific location right in Centro and close to restaurants. Staff exceptionally helpful.
7.4 Good
Pros: The staff did its best to help with room issues, and we appreciated that. The terrace was really pretty.
Cons: The breakfast was really bad. Our toilet was broken and we had to take off the lid and pull up the chain in order to flush. Wifi was spotty at best. The room could have benefited from a ceiling fan as there was no air conditioning (which I don't really care about) and the standing fan was inadequate against the heat. The terrace was lovely but hot, and smelled of detergent. There was no drink service, no ice, or refrigeration, so while we were invited to take our own beverages upstairs, that was not a realistic option.
La Casona de Don Lucas - Guanajuato - Building

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Price
Cons: Located
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked the suite - was huge, in very characterful period property. Well located - 2 minutes walk to main square/restaurants. Friendly staff, big bed
Cons: Breakfast options were limited, it was served in the outdoor courtyard so rather chilly in the morning! Noise from vehicles on the cobbled street in the morning.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and staff work great. The beds were actually comfortable. You couldn't hear the music from the club's outside the hotel.
Cons: This hotel was awesome. The only thing that we didn't like there was a smell in our room. It smell like mole like nobody open the windows or doors in there room for a long time. Besides that everything was great.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are large, and beautifully decorated. The roof terrace gives a beautiful view of the city. The breakfast was good too.
Cons: It is about a flight and a half to the closest rooms. Some of the people in our group have trouble with stairs. The staff was helpful in getting luggage up and down to the rooms. It was just a surprise when we got there and I could see the panic in the eyes of some of the people in our group.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked how central the location was, how friendly the staff was and helpful and the added bonus the breakfast.
Cons: The only thing I have to complain, which isn’t necessarily the Hotels doing, was the independent tour. The reason was because first off, our guides were a bit rude and especial to say the least. The second thing, they took us to eat at a buffet not of our choosing, and the food was not great and I much preferred to choose my own meal. Also the hotel as accommodating as they were, the services they are offer are a bit elevated in price, but it’s expected from a 4/5 star hotel.
7.0 Good
Pros: Big room
Cons: It was the weekend so lots of noise
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is one of the best hotels in Guanajuato. We can enjoy the breakfast in this hotel also. It locate in the middle of the city and come back easily some times.
Cons: Our room is on the first floor and have a small window only.

Pros: Regarding bed clothing it was definitely not luxury. If it hasn’t been for the jacuzzi this should have been noted as a 3 star hotel.
Cons: Besides bed clothing the breakfast was not high quality. Tea, for example was not even served in a proper tea pot & bread was not fresh.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel with a large park and duckpond for rowing across the street
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent room, views.
Cons: The hair dryer wasn't in it's place.
7.5 Good
Pros: The area is very nice and also this hotel had a nice vintage design. The breakfast was good as well.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Close to historical center with a beautiful view to the city. Difficult to park in the city but the hotel has a yard where we could park the car.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly, and the hotel was the cleanest of all we saw on our Mexico trip. Also the location is good, and the view from our window was great, we had something like a balcony so we could really enjoy the view. The bathroom looked unusual but it felt authentic. Breakfast is not buffet, but it was just enough.
Cons: We had a room at the topmost floor but the hotel lacks elevator, not a big deal though. The bathroom window is just glass so we had to cover it with a towel for privacy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Personel, rooms, breakfast, good location and parking available
10.0 Excellent
Pros: In a city declared by UN World Cultural Heritage, an old building restructures with superb good mexican taste!!!
Cons: Absolutely nothing!!
7.9 Good
Cons: There is a additional charges which is expensive
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Where to start! Our room was gorgeous, spotless, with one of the most beautiful bathrooms I've ever seen. The hotel itself is in an architecturally interesting renovated old building in the centro historico, walking distance to everything but just a bit out of the noise and hubbub. The staff was friendly and helpful and always available. The breakfast was served in a beautiful setting and was delicious and plentiful. I would come back to Guanajuato just to stay here again!
Cons: There is nothing negative to say. Everything was perfect. I have one very small suggestion and that is to put a small towel hook or rack near the sink so one can hang the towel up to dry.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful with directions, reservations and accommodations. The rooms and restaurant were beautiful, warm and pleasant to explore. The owner, Pilar, was wonderfully welcoming and gave us a hundred year history of Antigua’s growth from a bakery to a hotel, since we were curious about how an older building had become so beautifully decorated, furnished and designed. Truly a 20 year Labor of love by her husband and herself. They even designed an internal parking patio, which is rare in Guanajuato.
Cons: What’s not to like about a Garden of Eden right in the middle of a Paradise town!! At what hotel can you arrive in the dark because of a traffic accident on the freeway and have the host walk you to a nearby Italian restaurant and make sure you get to a performance at the Juárez theatre on time!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Near city center Nice view from certain rooms Private parking

Pros: Great location, and excellent views!
Cons: Na

Cons: There are a lot of stairs to get to the hotel.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff here are amazing and make you feel at home immediately. The decoration and layout of the building is great, lots of interesting details and very homely despite it actually having a lot of rooms. The home cooked breakfasts are some of the best I've had - I can't say enough good thing about this place. Views from the terraces are great. I always recommend this as a place to stay in Guanajuato. I will definitely stay here again. Gracias por todos a Señora de la Casa de Dante!!
Cons: The beds in the dorm are a bit close together.

Pros: The staff are amazingly lovely
Cons: No liquid soap to wash your hands.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice views and great people. Character building for sure . Different breakfast offerings every day was interesting . Kitchen group table as well.
Cons: Steps are purity Harsh 160 steps to street level up or down
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast. Great view!! Bedrooms were nice with quirky decorations. The climb up the steps is not that bad, dont let that deter you! And if you can, get your uber/cab from the bus station to drop you on the road at the top of the steps, so you only have to walk down!
Cons: Not a majorly social vibe, no easy place for guests to hang out, however the people in my room were great! Lockers didnt lock very well.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Soooo friendly staff, at reception, and especially the two ladies and the guy at breakfast, they made you feel home as part of the family and where also very interested in chatting about yours and there culture/ countries. They explained everything you got for breakfast. And breakfast was great, the best I had in Mexican hostels, it's extraordinary and changing each day so you do not have to repeat the same every morning. Especially nice the atole in a handmade ceramic cup and the watermelon heart!! Thanks so much for that!
Cons: Beds not very comfy, very hard Noisy doors, impossible to open without making noise. No luggage storing. Bit far from city centre but in change nice views from the terrace and already half the way up to the trail head to cerro la Bufa.
7.1 Good
Pros: Breakfast was v good, different everyday and beds were comfortable.
Cons: Wifi was not working, far from centre and u have to climb lots of steps, cant leave the luggage after checkout, booking rate extension not offered on direct booking. V quiet when i visited.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good traditional Mexican breakfast. It definitely made the stay worthy.
Cons: The bathroom was clean but very wet because there was no curtain of the bath.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Free breakfast (not just a piece of fruit and toast like most hostels, but an actual free breakfast and they did not complain when you asked for seconds). Honestly the breakfast was fantastic and was the best that I have had at any hostel ever (and that is out of probably 20-25 hostels in my life). Great art hung around the building and beautiful balcony overlooking the city with lounge chairs to hang out on Good value Large storage lockers to put your stuff in Free drinking water Very friendly and helpful staff If in Guanajuato again, I definitely plan to stay here. One of the best decorated hostels with the best breakfast ever.
Cons: The stairs up to the hostel are really intense (especially if you have a mildly heavy bag) Not directly in the city center (still a beautiful location nonetheless)

Cons: Way too loud which made it difficult to sleep. Really cramped, dark room. There were stains on the bed.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: 1. Good price and clean. It’s kind of loft which is very cute. 2. Good location, you may walk to anywhere as the town is not big. 3. The restaurant to have breakfast is outside of the hotel, which is about 200 meters away. The food is nice, you have many choices. 4. One male receptionist is very kind. He helped us to print the flight tickets with enough patience.
Cons: 1. The hotel is just on the main street and it’s a little noisy when the car go through the old traditional stone road. The simple windows can’t stop the noise very well. 2. It may be a little bit cold with only one blanket on the bed for guests.

Pros: Marvelous small, quiet hotel in the heart of town. Couldn’t ask for a better room. Hotel has elevator and I used ADA room after knee surgery. The room was great. I was impressed that my room was tranquil so close to popular night time events, free live music outside hotel & near bars. In fact my room was above hotel restaurant with 20 dining below my room. It was tranquil. Only negative- the only TV station of 150 channels in English was Fox. Yikes. Please add CNN in English.
Cons: Minor criticism on tv - no CNN in English.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Excellent location in the middle of everything. Old building, well maintained. Restaurant serving modern dishes in good quality at reasonable prices

Pros: Best location, clean and spacious apartament with comfortable bed and hot water. All this comes with a reasonable price.
Cons: It’s right in the center, so if you are a light sleeper, don’t forget your earplugs.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The size of the room is amazing, huge. The bed could quite literally fit 5 people in and is very comfy. Shower is nice and hot. Really clean. Quiet during the daytime. Location is very good, close to all the decent spots in town.
Cons: There was a club on Monday night playing music loudly til 6am which kept me up. Not sure if it's always like that, but very minor considering how nice the room we had was
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great beds and can't beat the location
Cons: Our last night we had to leave for the airport at 4 am but below us it sounded like they were building a house. Hammering or doing construction at 1-2 am. So no sleep that night but probably just a one off
7.0 Good
Pros: With respect to getting around, the location was fantastic, just behind Teatro Juarez. The room was lovely, spacious, very clean and beautifully decorated. There is a small balcony with a view over a school to the town centre. The bed was huge and fairly comfortable (though pillows were a bit hard & overlarge for comfort) and there is also a sofa, which someone could sleep on. The bathroom was a good size, also with a tiny balcony. The shower was powerful and hot; shampoo, moisturiser and a small bar of soap were provided. A really great choice if you don't have a car.
Cons: The parking situation was horrible. The hotel says it has parking (for $200MX a day). I reserved a space in advance (as advised) and was told to leave the car in public parking lot 'Alonso' next to the hotel, from where they would take it to their parking area. Google maps doesn't show the Alonso lot so we just hoped the closest lot to the hotel was the right one. The first time we weren't allowed to enter; it was full & the transito (traffic cop) was only letting account holders in. We had to drive past and got lost in Guanajuato's one way system. We rang the hotel - not helpful, just said (again) to go to Alonso lot. We eventually made a 2nd pass and spoke to the transito, explaining the situation. Finally he let us enter the lot (a 15 minute wait). By sheer luck we found a space (car leaving) and made it to the hotel. The whole parking situation was very stressful, took nearly an hour, and made us late meeting friends. There was no apology from the hotel staff about the trouble we had, and the fact that the lot was full and nearly wouldn't let us in. Then they asked us to pay them $20MX to cover the additional Alonso lot fee, so the parking is $220 for the first day, not $200 as they say. They need to make EXPLICIT the possible problems with the parking situation on booking.com and have a better fallback plan if the Alonso lot is full. They said there was a person who would have met our car in the street but she works for 3 other hotels and was busy. BAD SERVICE! Besides that, the room needs more convenient outlets to charge phones, and a bedside table/light on both sides of the very large bed would be nice (only on one side). School opposite is super noisy in mornings with very loud patriotic music and singing (monday am) and there was some noise at night, to be expected in Centro; bring earplugs! No drinking water in room, and no glasses to drink your own water from.

I you tried to call room service, phone never rang.you would have to call the desk and have room service call back. Room service menu was no good. They never provided a current one. Went to the spa and booked a hot rock message. On arrival to Spa was told they had no hot Rock? What! Its a great hotel but not 5 star.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Like the property, location, kindness of the hotel staff. The airport transfer could have been handled differently.
Cons: The manager, Arturo, had assured us that he will reserve a car service to the airport with someone he knew, but it turned out that he called Uber and we were not informed. The Uber driver showed up in a tiny car that barely held 1 suitcase in the small trunk and the other two small suitcases had to be carried in the back seat next to me while my partner sat in the front seat. So we were under the understanding that we were traveling to the airport with someone who was known to the hotel. However on the way to the airport the driver asked us if we were paying cash, if we were paying for the tolls, he stopped for gas which made it a bit nerve racking and afraid we might get late to the airport. All of of this happened a 4 o'clock am. When we got the airport the driver said the ride had been charged to our credit card (which I really had preferred to pay cash since I have set the money aside and had mentioned to the manager) but he couldn't tell us how much it had been charged cause it took sometime before it showed on his screen. So luckily it did not take too long and by the time we unloaded the suitcases he told us the amount of money charged to our credit card. We would have appreciate it if the manager had informed us ahead of time of his arrangements and if we wanted to pay cash of credit card.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was super friendly, attentive and accommodating.
Cons: The beds are a bit to hard.
6.7 Good
Pros: Very nice staff, welcoming, told us all the great things to see in the city and were very kind overall. Large rooms and bathrooms.
Cons: Very hard matresses, street noize very loud, shower temperature had to be regulated by the sink, which was’t very practicle when needing to change the temperature while showering...

Pros: Location is fantastic!
Cons: Breakfast service was late for a tourist that want to start an early day.

Pros: Excellent location and really near parking spot.
Cons: Very noisy, although most likely it's gonna be the same anywhere in the center of the city. I was expecting free parking, but that was not included.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location. Large room.
Cons: Lack of hot water (We had to turn on the sink at the same time to get the shower hot.) Noise level. (We could easily hear our neighbors.) Outdated facilities.

Pros: The friendliness of the staff. The location is close to the center of the city. Many restaurants and shopping experiences.
Cons: Guanajuato is a beautiful city but it can be loud especially at night. There is a lot of traffic and fumes. Bring ears plugs!

Pros: Incredible views from the rooms. Small, quaint. Perfect distance from centro without the noise of centro. It’s about a 5 min walk from the gates of the hotel to centro. Dennis, the owner, is very accommodating. You’ll love Hotelito Casa Dionisio! We’ll be back!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely everything except what I wrote about my breakfast confusion. Warm and friendly staff were awesome and welcoming, the view is incredible, the rooftop patio is awesome. It's located on the way up to the Pipila which is great.
Cons: Facilities listed includes "breakfast in the room" however, we were told upon check in there wasn't breakfast in the morning. No coffee or snacks either. It doesn't specify that breakfast would be an additional charge, or that you would need to specifically request it. It's even listed under the champagne entry in the facilites list which specifically states for that there is an extra charge. It's confusing, but I guess be aware, there's no free breakfast of any sort. For how much this place costs a night, that's a bummer.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: View is great and very central. Excellent room.
Cons: Location. Although the view is fabulous , and close to town center, it is quite a hike up, with many stairs. If you have any mobility issues then I would not recommend staying here. Other than that I would recommend staying here.
