Pros: We arrived a little ahead of the stated check in time and were warmly welcomed and told our room was ready. We had booked the attic room with separate private bathroom on the same floor. The room was beautifully furnished and biscuits, tea, coffee, WiFi and sweets were provided. In the bathroom there was everything you could need. Bath salts and bubble bath for the stunning free standing roll top bath, soft towels and other toiletries. There was also a walk in shower. The views from both rooms looked out over the town and surrounding countryside. We enjoyed quiet and comfortable nights sleep. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and provided maps of the town and also spent time explaining other trips we could do either on foot or by car. A cooked Breakfast was freshly prepared each morning and cereal, yoghurt toast and preserves as well as juices were available. The cooked breakfast was delicious. We were disappointed to leave after a 2 night stay. We will definitely return but will spend longer next visit. There is so much to see and do locally and the town has a good choice of shops, bars and restaurants.
Cons: Everything was perfect

Pros: Very filling breakfast. Good choice of what to eat. Served promptly. Friendly hosts with time to spend with you
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a very comfortable stay. The food was excellent and the hospitality was quite exceptional. The location is in a quiet street close to the town centre with convenient car parking on the premises The room was spotlessly clean and fully equipped with all amenities.
Cons: The radiator in my room at the top of the house didn't get as warm as I would have liked.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in a cute town right within the national park. The hosts were so much fun to talk to over freshly made breakfast! You just fill out the sheet at night and they make it fresh for you every morning. Hot shower, parking space, great in-room tea selection, in-room radiator heat you can set, and great local suggestions from the hosts made this place wonderful. It was a great stay with locals but you have your own whole space, so it was a perfect balance!
Cons: Nothing - great stay
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great hospitality, very good breakfast, the bed is comfortable and the location is right near a really nice pub, which is one of the few places to eat open in the evening. Our bathroom was spectacular - a stylish large room with both a bathtub and a standing shower, with various bath products included (bubble bath etc..)... The hosts also helped us with a forgotten jacket - thank you very much again!
Cons: Just two minor things associated with the specific room we chose - a) a quite low ceiling in parts of the room (top floor) and b) the bathroom is in a separate room (a bit uncomfortable if you need to use it during the night)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location and great, caring hosts! We will certainly come back to see the rest of this great region!
10.0 Excellent

Pros: The warmest of welcomes from the owner, despite our last minute booking and short notice arrival. Incredibly stylish and individual interior fit-out & decor that the photos don't do justice to, with cute and helpful little service touches all around - from the peppermint giant buttons left on our bedside table to the owner doing my scrambled eggs JUST right as I asked for them in the morning. If you're looking for a homely, high quality stay in this beautiful area, you won't do better.

We booked for 3 nights and ended up extending it to 5 nights because it was so comfortable and hard to leave. We even had Stuart make us a couple of sack lunches and they were delicious as well! It was a joy to interact with both James and Stuart and they both genuinely want your stay to be as comfortable as possible without being overbearing.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcoming hosts, clean comfortable room, power shower and delicious breakfast led to a great stay at this up-market guest house.
Cons: Nothing.

7.0 Good
Pros: Lovely communal areas. Lovely open fires. Comfortable lounges. Very friendly staff, great breakfast and good value for money.
Cons: The shower was stuck at the bottom of the rail, and would not stay further up. Had to bend over to wash. The power of the shower. The water dribbled out, it was nice and hot, but took an age because of the woeful flow. We booked a king room, the bed was indeed a king, but the picture represented on booking. Com for a king show four posters in large rooms, and seating areas etc. Our room Was quite small and did not look like the ones advertised.

Pros: Friendly and accomodating staff, great breakfast.
Cons: Our room was overlooking the main street. Hence it was slightly noisier than expected. And was colder than desired. :/

7.9 Good
Pros: Central Traditional Large room
Cons: Comfy bed but mattress a bit lumpy Shower took 5 mins to warm up and I was concerned about wasting water
4.6 Okay
Cons: No Heating or hot water in room. Hotel put a halogen heater in room, took the chill off a little
1.0 Poor
Pros: I do not recommend this hotel. At least not in winter. The room was freezing cold and there it wasn’t hot water. The receptionist told us that they had several problems with the heating system and that the hot water needed time to reach the last floor due to the low pressure. We asked to change room if they couldn’t refund the 54£ we paid for the night. They changed our room but the situation didn’t changed. No heating, no hot water. We couldn’t take a shower neither wash our faces properly, the water was freezing!!! Moreover there it was a lack of cleanliness in the whole building, full of spiderwebs. I put my scarf on the pillow cause I wasn’t really sure to want a direct contact between the pillow and my face. Just don’t go there, with 50£ you can get a lot more better place to stay!!!
Cons: Almost everything! The heating was off, there it wasn’t hot water; no hairdryer. Probably the worst hotel in whole Scotland!
5.4 Okay
Pros: Good location for visiting the Lecht ski centre. The hotel is in need of refurbishment and the heating was not working. The room was served by a portable electric radiator which worked ok. There was no one on reception when we checked out in the morning. Otherwise it was a clean space which is all that we required
Cons: Included above
4.0 Okay
Cons: They were no hot water and also no heating, bedroom was freezing
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Good breakfast
Cons: No heating on,complained, offered a portable oil heater!!!!!!! Only heating in the bedroom was a portable oil heater!!!!!later found out from the locals that the hotel is infamous for their lack of heating.......very disappointed......
Craiglynne Hotel - Grantown-on-Spey - Building

₹ 6,688+
Overview Reviews
The Craiglynne Hotel is set right in the heart of the Highlands in Grantown-on-Spey, only 14 miles from the busy Scottish resort of Aviemore with views over the Cromdale Hills. This great value hotel is full of traditional Scottish charm. The hotel dates back to Victorian times and still maintains the attractive stone faade with towers, and bay windows looking on to the pretty gardens with picnic tables. The interior is comfortable and homely; the public rooms and restaurant feature chandeliers, natural dcor and large lounge areas with roaring log fires. The guestrooms are spacious and comfortable with a tartan twist, some rooms have views of the Cairngorms, all have flat screen TVs, en-suite bathrooms and welcome tea tray.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great choice of food on restaurant menu, very reasonably priced too. Staff were all lovely, very accommodating and great place to take your dogs Wouldn't hesitate recommending to others
Cons: N/A
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice cosy hotel with the perfect temperature and lovely log fires on in the lounge area at night
Cons: Could have had a bigger selection of vegetarian food for cooked breakfast
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This place has loads of character. Lovely room in the tower, lots of light and good view of gardens, the woods over the road and the falling snow! It was warm and the beds comfortable (firm mattresses). Nice tartan theme in decor. We had a table and chairs in the bay/tower. Shower over bath worked well.
Cons: My tartan bed blanket disappeared on second day! Didn't really need it as the room was easily warm enough. Our wet bath towels were removed but not replaced and there were some tacky stains on one of the curtains and the carpet. We didn't like the food smells in the reception area, but they didn't affect us in the room. A bit noisy one night with floor boards creaking upstairs.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were most helpful in all ways. A big asset.
Cons: Squeaky floor boards!
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was ideal for our purpose. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: Beds in need of replacement. This seems to be going on at this time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: room was good for price , breakfast was a tad cold staff were very nice and friendly
Cons: bath /toilet end of bathroom was a bit cramped would have been better as a wet room for the size
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice, warm and well equipped.
Cons: Some areas of the building smelled strongly of smoke, particularly around a fire exit, probably where the staff go to smoke, and around the entrance. Cigarette ends everywhere.

Pros: Nice friendly atmosphere
Cons: Nothing
