The car was not ready when I got there, they said it’s a 2hr wait even with a reservation. And they will not call you to let you know when it’s ready, you had to sit near the counter and wait.Reviewed 30 Jan 2023

Dollar and Thrifty are the only car rental companies that seem to have a line in the entire airport. After waiting about 1.5 hrs to speak with a representative, they told me they couldn’t give me my prepaid and non-refundable car rental because I had an interim drivers license issued by the state. The rental was for the holidays, which my birthday lands around, and I had to renew my license a week prior and it didn’t occur to me that they wouldn’t take a state issued document that my state gives out prior to sending the new license via mail. (Had my old license, birth certificate, & interim license with me but they wouldn’t consider it). Extremely poor experience.Reviewed 2 Jan 2023

When I arrived to pick up my previously reserved car at ATL Airport I had to wait nearly an hour in line to be processed and then an additional 2.5 hours to get my car. It was late at night and I didn't have any other option than to wait. Staff were working hard to get everyone what they needed and I appreciate their diligence, but no one was able to say with any certainty when a car would be available. I understand there is a car shortage but it is ridiculous and unacceptable to overbook to such a degree with such dismal customer support and communication, and not even offering a discount or comped rental. It started with a 2 hour wait in line for a car, that proceeded with additional charges on top of my reservation cost by a salesman that snuck in an upgrade when I was exhausted and didn’t realize what he was doing. I was then given a key and then sent to a garage where someone would help me find the car and go over it, I was promptly told to just keep clicking the door unlock button and my car would beep. No one went over the car with me or showed me how anything worked, so was never able to figure out the gps and thank god I didn’t try and roll down the back window as come to find out it was taped shut! There was empty cans rolling around under the seats so I am sure it wasn’t cleaned as they supposedly guarantee, Finally, when I returned the car they claimed the tank was full and wanted to charge me for gas. Which thank goodness I took a picture of the gas gauge and mileage remaining and it showed there were 100+ miles more range than when I picked it up and they I guess believed me so maybe a positive there, although I was already running late for my flight so you lose that point as they sent me to customer service to resolve that. All in all I would extremely recommend anyone other than dollar and seeing as thrifty is run by the same people them by extension.Reviewed 9 Nov 2022
