Pros: The surprise upgrade was excellent. Very welcome! We appreciated the GPS as well. The person at the Avis desk was also very courteous and helpful, even being willing to keep the office open for an extra half hour when our flight was delayed.
Cons: The AVIS pick up was so complicated. Between walking to the rental place, waiting in line, walking to the shuttle, waiting for the shuttle, and arriving at the parking lot, we spent nearly an hour getting our car.
Cons: Dollar car rental turned out is a subdivision of Hertz. There were many unexpected charges and we are still not refunded our fuel deposit which is rather annoying. The pick up/drop off location is really far away from the actual branch. There is a bus taking you there but the wait and the cold on that day were things I would not like to go back to ever again.
Contacting and customer service relations seem to be a mission impossible. When asked about the deposits, I was sent an invoice with completely different information than the one I had on initial receipt.
Very disappointed, will try to avoid them for future.

Pros: Pick up and drop off very quick.
Personnel really friendly and efficient
Cons: the upholstery6 of the car was not clean due to previous bad use
Pros: Hertz was OK but we paid double the price because of the insurance
Cons: I bought the full cover Insurance from cayak -Allianz but at heartz desc at the pick up they didn't recognised the insurance. In case of an accident I had to pay up to the total value of the car and then claim from Allianz. I didn't received any documents from Allianz when I booked and bought the cover so I was uncomfortable and I asked for the full insurance from heartz. I called Allianz and they didn't respond. I am not happy with kayak and Allianz. I definitely want a refund of the Allianz Insurance cost

Pros: Pick up and drop off was fast
Cons: First of all, they change the vehicle from a compact Ford to a Opel SUV, without previous notice, which doubled the amount of fuel I had planned for the trip.
Then, I just realized they charged an additional 27 dollars for insurance, and it was supposed to be included in the total amount I paid when I made the reservation.
By the end, they tricked me into spending double the amount I was prepared for. I feel totally robbed, would have been cheaper in any other company
