Pros: awful experience. these people should be in jail!
Cons: do not use this economy rental company!! we had a very traumatic, awful experience trying to get a car in Athens, Greece, booked via Kayak. we arrived at the location Kayak emailed us and nobody was there. it was 100 degrees in hot Athens heat and we stood outside. we called office repeatedly to no answer. finally woman answers the phone listed via note on door and said she will be back in 2 min. an hour goes by, she's not there. we called 800 economy rental car number who also contacts the woman, who says we now must go to different location at airport - a 40 euro expense from where we were. we go back to airport and find her. she says to wait, goes to get the car and comes back with another passenger 20 min later. she yells one person get in this car, and one to another car - no explanation. when pressed she yells that our car is at different location. we speed off, get to a third location. meanwhile it's 3pm, our reservation was for 12, we are going to be late for a wedding we have to drive to down the coast to. at the office she takes a personal call for 20 min, we just sit there waiting. I ask how long until we can finally have the car, she yells at me that we are wasting her time, she's very busy, she does not care about our wedding. she then starts to slowly fill out paperwork, takes another call and we just sit there. finally she shoves a carbon copy of my credit card to me with a handwritten "€1200" and says sign. i ask what it is, she says a deposit. the car rental amount was €189 and a deposit was not disclosed to me during booking so i'm concerned. I ask why there isn't paperwork for this and she says no contract, just sign. at this point we feel it's better to not sign a random piece of paper authorizing her to charge me an additional €1200 with no agreement for it being a refundable deposit. we decide to go as getting the car doesn't look promising here. this woman runs to the door and shuts it, she on the outside, us inside, and tries to lock us in! we get out thankfully, and she then chases my friend who is running terrified, with her suitcase toward the street. at this point an old man pulls into the lot and is honking his horn screaming. the woman yells that we damaged a car while running by (which was made up). the man gets angry at us and lunges at my friend trying to grab her, yelling to come inside and he's going to have the police come. I start filming on my phone because this is insane, and he lunges at me and grabs me. everyone is screaming. another man then pulls into the lot, sees us being attacked and he runs out of the car and holds back the violent man and woman. I run into the street and jump in front of a cab, he stops, we run down the street to him and jump in. we then went back to the airport, rented from Hertz - a reputable company - and left. we barely made the wedding and it was an awful, stressful experience. they also charged my card for the €189 rental as well as the additional €1200, which I am fighting.
