The location is amazing. 15 minutes away from Tiananmen square and a lot of other tourist attractions. The room was very clean and had a good working AC. The staff was exceptional. I had issues with my smartphone (not the best thing to happen in China) and they accompanied me to a repair store and got the problem fixed with me for free.
The hotel is inside a compound and due to the covid-19 situation it was pretty hard to enter as a white dude. It took over 20 minutes and sometimes staff of the hotel to get us trough. The hotel is not to blame for this though.
Well situated in a charming hutong, the hotel is modern but has a nice "old Beijing" atmosphere. The staff speaks English and is always ready to help.
Good value of money, very helpful staff.
The bathroom floor will be wet after took bath. Located in the alley, at night limited street light when walking from metro station to the hotel.
The staff was friendly and efficient, and we have to particularly thank Jun, Candace and Bruce. The room was clean and affordable. It is tucked in an alley, and there's a metro station within a five minute walk, as well as restaurants and a 7/11. The staff helped us make plans to see the Peking Opera performance at a grand hotel, and also to see The Story of Kung Fu, which was much more spectacular than we expected. We made our own arrangements to get to the Great Wall of China, and we were not pressured to use the hotel tour group at all. There are four choices for the free breakfast--all western style: scrambled eggs, yogurt, etc., with either green tea or a good cup of coffee. We felt welcomed and cared for, which is especially important to note, since it was during Chinese New Year, so there were fewer staff on duty. When the corona virus started, we had to cancel our further plans, and stayed on at the Happy Dragon. The owners consolidated the guests from their four properties into their largest one, so we were all given room upgrades in a hotel closer to downtown, and the staff followed the health and safety guidelines carefully.
The attention, the facilities and THE breakfast.. all of it was amazing! I would stay here again anytime.
