Great unique hotel in the old style within Stonetown. During troubled times with the globe on high alert, we were upgraded to ensure guests were comfortable during a stressful time. Very much appreciated, very caring staff.
The apartment had 2 bedrooms with beautiful old wooden beds, the location of the apartment made you feel that you were in the middle of the life of the old city in a good way, everything was kept very clean and tidy, big water bottles were served daily, the swimming pool was just perfect and peaceful, breakfast was nice, you could pick from different warm food options and it was served on the rooftop restaurant with excellent views, I had forgotten a bag in the apartment but I got it back after a week, when we travelled by the hotel again.
The guys at the hotel desk could have smiled a little and the other one of them was very slow in motions, also he had not reserved us the trip we had ordered but the headmistress of the hotel was very helpful and solved the case.
Really great location. Stone throws from stone town (lol) and then the beach restaurants, so really good for exploring and walking. Rooftop restaurant has some great views over the city and the pool was lovely with a lush garden like vibe. They even let us check in a little early and use the pool after check out. lovely people. REALLY comfortable bed and very spacious rooms. They had these cute chairs and I just need them in my life.
Breakfast was a little disappointing. Was hoping the juice would be more fresh.
Amazing staff and manager Catia. 5 stars
Beautiful building that's been modernised. Great location, close to everything. Staff were helpful and generally much more efficient than most hotels we visited in Zanzibar.
Very noisy at night - not the hotel's fault, it's just the (great) location means there are people around until late at night, who can be easily heard in the 'apartment'. Didn't bother me, but it may bother some. Disorganised with breakfast. Suspect it's was just a "one-off" mistake, but it took very long and a lot of other people who came after us got their food long before us.
