The hotel itself is contained within a gated area. Once you have progressed to the main reception, you approach the reception via a fairly long set of stairs (easy walking) to the most glorious view on the other side of the infinity pool where the view stretches beyond to the plains and then the hills in the distance. It is truly beautiful. The pool is really stunning and is open until 9pm at night so you can bathe under the stars which is what my husband and I did one night after returning from a safari. The food is catered generally by a buffet which was good quality and plenty of choice. Again the staff were exceptional. Our room was great - plenty of room and nice big bathroom. I'm not sure how quiet it would be if the hotel was full though. Sigiriya is a great location for safaris too.
The grounds are well maintained but there is rather a hum - we think this stemmed from watering the gardens with stagnant water. The wi-fi rather drops out of service quite frequently so one has to keep logging in. Didn't bother me but my husband found it a bit irritating.
Yoga class, beautiful garden area, nice to stroll, breakfast, room, swimming pool, Sri lankan dinner, room had privecy and was spotless clean and nice.
A staff in main restaurant didn't feel very friendly or attentive, but other staffs were.
Everything, normally not one for big hotels however this was a beautifully designed hotel and pure class, can't fault it.
Nothing, couldn't fault it.
Honestly everything. This place was incredible and I will definitely recommend this to anyone I know heading to Sri Lanka. The facilities were amazing and the staff went above and beyond to make your stay the best possible. The view of Sigiriya rock from the infinity pool was gorgeous and the food was delicious. There were also free badminton courts which was fun. I would recommend getting a tuk-tuk from just along the road from the hotel because tuktuk drivers take advantage if they know you are staying there. We tried to get a tuk-tuk which should have been 1700 and they tried charging us 2900.
Fantastic view from the main hotel area and pool, service was excellent, food options and quality likewise. Would recommend.
The twin bed in our room wasn't set up on arrival into the room, but they rectified this fully within ten minutes. Full credit to the staff
