Parkside Plaza Alta Hotel

What really distinguishes Plaza Prague Hotel is its gorgeous decor, which seamlessly combines different design eras. It blends '70s style with ultra-modern contrasting colours and furniture with fluid lines. It's an all-rounder, excelling equally at welcoming everyone from couples to families to those visiting Prague on business. It's close to public transport, with Praha Holesovice Railway Station within comfortable walking distance. You get breakfast served to your room, and you can have other meals delivered too. There's also secure private parking if you have a hire car.

To get to Plaza Prague Hotel from Prague Airport (PRG), you'll cross over the famous Vltava River that bisects the city. You can catch one of the hourly public transport buses, which will take you directly to a bus stop outside the hotel in about 45 minutes. They only cost around €4.50 (about £3.80). It's a lot quicker to drive, taking only about 20 minutes. If you haven't hired a car to self-drive, you can catch a taxi. This will set you back roughly €22-27 (£19-23). You can also arrange an airport shuttle to your hotel, costing about €8.50-11 (£7-9.50).

Plaza Prague Hotel is very family friendly. You can book spacious family rooms with seating areas, or get connecting rooms if you prefer. If you're travelling with a really young one, you can have baby safety gates put in your rooms and arrange for a cot from reception. The hotel serves kids' meals. You can take a complete break, thanks to laundry and ironing services, and if you want some time to yourselves, babysitting and childcare services are readily available. If you want snacks and drinks on the go for your kids, the hotel has several handily placed vending machines.

You can get meals, snacks and other refreshments in abundance from the hotel's bar lounge, coffee shop and restaurant. They all cater for children too. The restaurant, Bistrot Puglia, is usually open for breakfast, lunch and dinner – from 07:00 to 22:00. It has a seasonal menu using fresh ingredients from local farmers, with a specific focus on Italian cuisine from the Puglia region (given that you're in Prague). It's a bright and airy place to eat, with windows providing a quiet street view. The Panorama Bar serves everything from world-famous Czech craft beer to exotic cocktails.

The hotel is fully geared for business travellers, as well as providing facilities for business events. You can work in the business centre, and it has meeting rooms with flexible layouts. The conference hall can accommodate up to 60 people at a time. High-quality food can be delivered from the hotel restaurant during breaks, and you can hold business events using the banqueting services. The hotel also offers a wake-up service and an airport shuttle for a fee.
