Did not have any cars when I already had my reservation and they didn’t know what to do. They just said they didn’t have anything and they couldn’t do anything about it. No advice or sorry or anything. Not recommended at all. We were without a car our whole trip.Reviewed 3 Jan 2026

The staff were good, no problems. The car I was given was the problem. It is the worst car I have driven in 40 years: noisy, poor visibility, sound system rudimentary. (Mitsubishi vehicle). All my friends and family and even on of their neighbors who walked by laughed and made derogatory comments when they saw me in it. Maybe it was bad luck? Who knows PS I drive a 12 year old VW so I am probably not a spoiled brat.Reviewed 31 Dec 2025

Kayak said it would be a Toyota RAV4 or similar when I made the reservation but when I went to pick up, they didn’t carry any Toyota’s and if I wanted something “similar” it would be considered an upgrade so I had to pay extra just to get what I thought I was already getting. Very frustrating and disappointed! Will never rent from Payless again!!!!Reviewed 29 Dec 2025

Awful! They only have 1 location in the whole state of Oregon. My plans changed and I needed to return the car early, but there were no locations so I had to drive 3 hours to return it. I will never rent with Payless again.Reviewed 28 Dec 2025

I never rented the car. Went in at my 4pm reservation time and there were 5 individuals/families in front of me. Waited 30 minutes; no one had been given a car. I asked the sole attendant what the issue was and he said there were system issues. He suggested I come back in 30 minutes. I came back an hour later. 3 of the 5 individuals were still waiting. I gave it another 30 minutes and at 6pm I told him to cancel our reservation and I walked over to National. I had a car in 15 minutes.Reviewed 11 Dec 2025
