Pros:

The gal that escorted us to our vehicle was excellent. Made a nice upgrade gesture that significantly enhanced our trip.

Cons:

I should have been told during my order placement that u were offering a 3rd party insurance company where u would have required me to use my deductible...then “I” would have to get reimbursed from the insurance company. Sneaky!

Pros:

The renting process at both airports and the car were great.

Cons:

The website and confirmation. Other than going into the Kayak System, I had no email confirmation about my rental. So I was nervous that the reservation did not truly exist. It did, but without some confirmation, it was difficult. I would also like it if there were notifications sent the day before confirming the reservation and what to expect.

Pros:

Staff was very helpful and check in was super speedy. Vehicle was very clean and well outfitted.

Cons:

Due to Covid the rental offices of a number of rental agencies had been combined to a central location, a fact that was not relayed to myself or many renters as there was lots of confusion with folks picking up and dropping off vehicles. People should be advised to call their rental provider for updated information on new operating system.

Pros:

Your staff was very nice and did the best they can do with all this Covid stuff going on. Returning was super easy and fast!

Cons:

Actually I really didn’t like my van. It was fine and it fit my family. I drive an suv at home so I would of preferred that but they are costly to rent. But all in all enterprise was great and I’ll use enterprise again. Thanks!☺️

The car was new so that was nice.

Cons:

Pickup and drop off in a shopping mall was not ideal. And the car had clearly not been cleaned before we received it.

Pros:

Cancellation of rental was very easy and simple. The customer service representative was very nice and helpful and apologized for the situation.

Cons:

We scheduled our rental pick-up for 7pm. We didn’t know that the pick-up location closed at 7pm. We were unable to receive our rental. If closing time is at 7pm, then the last rental for the evening needs to be at 6:30pm.

Pros:

Considering the conditions of COVID, the young lady was very helpful and checked me in quickly and when I returned the car the same girl waited on me again and made my car return and easy transition

Cons:

The location in the mall is horrible, bad parking and hard to find. I drove around the mall twice before I was able to find the location of Budget. Also when I got in the car, it was clean, however the car had a strong marijuana odor. I did report this to the clerk at the counter, she made note of it. But because of the timing and the lack of cars available I went ahead and took the car anyhow. But it was unpleasant to drive a car with that odor when you are a non user and a non smoker.

The car got me from point A to point B comfortably.

Cons:

The car didn't have rims and was dirty when I picked it up. No attendant at pickup location, waited for 30 minutes before the attendant arrived. Attendant at drop off had me stand outside in the rain while he remarked about the condition of the car.

The check in process was awful and took 45 minutes. The mans clmpjter was down so he spent 15 mins trying to reboot, then had to do everything manually. Then the only behicle he has was a pickup truck when I needed an economy vehicle. The truck was dented and had stains/crumbs all over the inside.

Pros:

Vehicles were in great condition and staff at final destination finally made our rental satisfactory but getting there with three other rental locations was miserable!

Cons:

Went to airport location to rent vehicles (2 mini vans - we had 4 kids under 5 who had just flown for 4 hours) - told our rental was at a different location and would have to go back to airport and take a cab there, even though it was just 5 minutes away. Shuttle driver who was taking us back to airport told us that there had not been taxi’s at Raleigh/Durham airport for about 2 years - we would have take a Lyft. Lyft got there and took us to booked location, only to find it had been closed for over a year...it was a body shop, and the very helpful people there told us this happens all the time and that there were phone numbers listed on their now closed office door and we would have to call one of them. Called first one and they would be there in 30 minutes (30 minutes back to their shop to get cars so another hour out of our day). Called second one - said they were closer but only had one mini van. Third location was very rude, laughed and said they were not interested in helping us and to call the first location. Finally got picked up to get to rental location. Great help there - asked if these Hertz locations were independently owned (franchises) and was told no - Hertz owns them all. Asked if the location we booked through was closed why the airport location couldn’t help us and was told they could have. Great service at this rental location, she deducted our Lyft fee and got us on the road in about an hour. If it weren’t for the rental location we finally ended up at, this would have been a total disaster and Hertz would never receive my business again. KAYAK...you need to remove our initial rental location from your list of rental locations.

Pros:

The manager was extremely helpful and accommodating due to us not being notified that the location we were supposed to pick our car at had closed permanently without us being notified.

Cons:

Hertz’s phone customer service wasn’t very good. They basically said they couldn’t help us in making sure our reservation was honored. They wanted to cancel our reservation and charge us $1000 more to rent a car.

Although it’s a small space it was great to go to a rental place that had the space for vehicles and great price for rental.

Cons:

It could not have gone better. When I rent again I wish I could select the same model but I understand that’s not possible.

Car was worn out, sounded like water swishing around in dashboard, car had tears in seat, filthy film on a glass, low air pressure, near bald tires

Pros:

Staff was friendly and helpful, car was in good working order.

Cons:

Kayak's booking stated pick-up was at RDU airport. However, upon arrival, the booking was actually for a site 10 minutes away. The booking fee was not honored at the airport location and I had to pay $60 extra for the rental. The agent said this has happened before when using third party bookings, they don't distinguish the airport location from locations near the airport. Disapointing.

I arrived and had to wait half hour for the rental car guy to come back (I had called in advance to tell him my arrival time and still wasn’t there) The car ended up being extremely expensive since something went wrong at booking with the drop off location. And he wasn’t being helpful about this. When I finally got the car it smelled so badly of smoke I had to drive with the windows down my whole 4 hour trip. It was less than Ideal and will never rent from them again.

Showed up an hour and change after I had said the pickup would be and the car wasn’t cleaned and had so little gas that it didn’t register on the digital read out. Was told to bring it back w the same amount of gas, just not really comfortable trying to coast in on fumes so Hertz made some extra money on me there

I was sent to a Hertz location that is no longer open. I went to several Hertz locations in Raleigh before I found one that was able to give me a car. While using the car, it had a tire pressure issue. Again, I contacted several Hertz locations for help, but nobody was able to help me. I also called the Hertz helpline and was never able to talk to an actual person. Luckily, the car lasted until I was able to drop it off, but it was a very frustrating experience. The stress/frustration of dealing with Hertz took away some of my precious vacation time. Probably will not rent from them again.

One manager seemed helpful

Cons:

Priceline booked us at an off-site location which was closed when we landed. Avis and Priceline both blamed each other when a $50 no-show fee was assessed and neither would take responsibility for assessing or removing it. Priceline did the same thing on another future rental so we cancelled it. We will no longer use Kayak for rental cars.

Pros:

Both gals who helped me with pick up and then drop off were super.

Cons:

The pick up at the Raleigh NC mall 5 days before Christmas was very chaotic. I couldn't find the car once I had the keys, and the woman working was all alone so couldn't leave the desk inside the mall to help me find it. That was very time consuming and took much longer than it should have. Having dedicated and labeled Avis spots in the mall parking lot are a necessity, especially if Avis isn't going to hire extra help. She had to leave her post and help me find the car. She didn't know where it was either in the chaos of a mall parking lot before Christmas.

1.) The vehicle was very dirty. It had not been cleaned, vacuumed or anything. There were cigarette ashes all over and a cigarette butt on the driver's floor mat. Soda was spilled in the rear cargo area, etc. etc. 2.) There was only 1 employee working at the time of pick-up, so he could not inspect the vehicle with us. I had to take pictures and finally went back inside and insisted that he come outside, which he did. (I do not remember his name, but he was very good. In fact, he was the only good experience we had with this rental.) 3.) Florida license plates expired in June (06/22), I suffer from severe anxiety and had to drive an illegal vehicle on what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. 4.) Vehicle needs front and rear brake pads and rotors. It nearly vibrated us out of the van when applying the brakes going down the mountain. I was actually afraid it was not going to stop a couple of times. 5.) This was my first rental with Avis and it was not a good one. 6.) I called Customer Service about the dirtiness and the expired tags, before I knew the brakes were shot. The customer Service representative agreed to refund me $100 from the Total. This refund has not yet hit my credit card account. 7.) In summary, I paid $404 to rent a dirty minivan with bad brakes that was illegal to drive on NC roads with expired tags. I fulfilled my contractual obligations, but Avis did not.

nothing The Avis rep from the location I reserved a car at 3 weeks prior called me at 6:05 pm the night before I was to pick up my car to tell em the location "had no cars". She said I would have to modify my reservation to pick up at another location. I tried the number she gave me and when i selected Modify Reservation from the menu I got an error message and then the call disconnected. I did this 3 times and then tried to call the original rep back and got no answer. Extremely frustrated, I called the customer service number back and chose make a reservation in hopes to speak to a human being. The agent and supervisor i spoke to connected me to a customer service rep named Juan in California who modified my reservation but couldn't 100% confirm a car was available because the location was already closed for the night. This meant I would be flying in to Raleigh North Carolina needing a car to complete the last 2 hours of my trip to another town without even knowing that I had a car available. I wound up canceling my reservation and my girlfriend had to take a day off work and change her schedule around so that she could come and pick me up and know that I was not stuck at the airport 2 hours away. Avis has incredibly poor customer service. It is unbelievable that a reservation can be made for a car and every single attempt to make sure that a car is available for a person is not made. Wiith multiple locations in a city, that agency should have done whatever it took to get a car to the location my reservation was scheduled. This experience was just awful.

The car that I was supposed to pick up was not available. The lady at front desk (who claims to be the manager) was rude and didn’t care. This is the worst experience and I will NEVER go back to this place for a car rental. I also told all the people in my group who were picking up the car with me what happened and none of them would ever go there!!
