This hotel is in desperate need of comprehensive remodel. It is an excellent location but there was nothing positive beyond that. We could not bring ourselves to use the shower. Every part of the room and grounds were in serious need of investment to achieve even minimally acceptable standards for average traveler. We left at 5:45 am but had planned a much later departure.

Pros (+) The staff was very accommodating. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was varied and good in a nice setting of an actual restaurant. The lobby had some old world style and was comfortable for reading with coffee in the early a.m. We plan to return to the Mikado when we next visit our daughter's family.
Cons (-) The room was a bit shabby with some wallpaper curling and vents not cleanly attached. There was some noise at times.

Cons (-) The facilities felt like a Motel 6 trying to be a Marriott and it just doesn't feel comfortable or relaxing at all. The freeway is right next to the rooms. I felt like I was at a cheap Motel.

Pros (+) The staff was wonderful and accommodating! Rooms were always clean, staff was very friendly. The breakfast was excellent. We were in for over a week for a horse show and this was a great area and easily accessible for us...being from Pennsylvania! Will absolutely stay here again next year!
Cons (-) Room was tight for 4 people, but no big deal! Hot tub was a bit too hot...otherwise, no complaints!

Pros (+) The hotel was well staffed and the staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant used for the complimentary breakfast was comfortable, and the food was excellent. Room was clean.
Cons (-) Bath area had floor patched and re-patched, with grout very dingy looking. Floor was uneven and extreme care was required when using the shower.

Pros (+) Not knowing what to expect, when I walked in to book the room, my first impression was "wow this place is pretty nice" for the money, I would be hard pressed to find a better place, friendly service, clean, very quiet
