Excellent everything (especially breakfast) except for one thing
Breakfast, location, cleanliness, the super helpful staff ... all of it meeting much beyond expectations. The live music with breakfast (piano one day, sax the other) was a nice touch, and the library in the evening for reading was perfect.
Not a quiet hotel, at all, and so for the light sleeper, a better spot is needed (especially for New Year’s Eve when the streets party til 6am).
About
Overview
Palacio Das Especiarias is located in Lisbon, Portugal’s historic Chiado area. That places it only a short distance from Camoes Square and Bairro Alto, and it is also within minutes of St. George’s Castle, Liberty Aven, the Tejo River and a long list of restaurants, cafes, and bars. Jeronimos Monastery, the Lisbon Oceanarium, and the Luz Football Stadium are all within a few short miles. The Chiado Metro stop and the Humberto Delgado Airport are also both nearby.
An amenities-rich property, the hotel features a bar and signature restaurant, Taverna Camoes. It has a spa and wellness center with a comprehensive menu of massage treatments, fitness classes, a hot tub, sauna, and a lounge. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the property, and terraces and gardens add to the overall appeal. Guests enjoy use of the TV lounge, laundry facilities, and airport shuttles (for a fee), and there is also luggage storage.
The hotel is a guest house, and that means that visitors enjoy a range of rooms, and also have use of a kitchen throughout their stay. It features a microwave, stove, fridge and hot beverage system with tea and coffee supplies. The rooms are all equipped with climate controls, entertainment systems with cable TV, a fireplace, and a private bathroom with luxury linens and signature toiletries.
The Palacio Das Especiarias is also one of the most surprisingly opulent hotels in the Lisbon area, and surrounds visitors with amenities as well as placing them in a convenient part of the city.
