Pros: The staff was nice and professional but seems like did not know I was there to pick my car.

Cons: We had car trouble with the car we originally rented. But Ben and Doug from the Hertz in Roanoke came and picked us up quickly and got us going in a new car. They were wonderful. The emergency roadside assistance was poor. We were on hold for over half an hour before we got through. Then it took them over an hour and a half to pick up the car. Fortunately due to Ben and Doug, we got another car and didn’t have to wait for the tow.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. Pickup and dropoff took only a few minutes. Very pleased

Pros: I made an online reservation for a one-way rental and booked a non-refundable motel room in my destination city. Got a call the next morning that they didn't have a car for me, that they didn't do a one-way rental between the cities. Personnel were polite and professional and apologized.
Cons: Their reservation system sucks. It lets you make a reservation that the company can't fulfill. I needed a one-way rental to pick up a motorcycle I had bought a couple months ago. I tried several companies including Enterprise which I usually use for one-way rentals. None were accepting a one-way rental until I tried Hertz and made a reservation. I then booked a non-refundable motel room in my destination city. Got a call from Hertz the next morning that they didn't have a car for me, that they didn't do a one-way rental between the cities my reservation was for. Personnel were polite, professional and apologized. I told them their reservation system sucked and they agreed. I got the impression this was a routine occurrence - their reservation system accepting reservations that could not be fulfilled.
Cons: Agency was closed when flight arrived - was unable to rent car and had to rent from another agency - seeking refund

Super easy car rental and return.
Pros: The airport is very easy to get to and the Rental Car return lanes and parking lot are easy to find and get in and out of. The rental car counters are a very short walk and easy to find, and there are carts around to place your luggage on so you don't have to carry everything. The rental lot runners/employees are also very helpful if you have questions or need direction.
Cons: Honestly, there really isn't anything I didn't like about the ABE airport car rental experience.

Cons: When I picked up the car it was frozen solid. It took a lot of work to be able to open the driver side door and melt the windshield. The outside of the car had a lot of body deficiencies such as tape marks, scratches, and scuffs. I could have gotten over that, but as the car defrosted I realized that the windshield on the inside has tons of tiny wet marks which were also visible on the dashboard and the panel in front of the speed gauge. It looked like someone had sneezed all over the inside of the car (dashboard/windshield). It was so gross that I pulled over about 90 minutes into the trip and bought cleaning supplies and cleaned the car! But besides that and the car being extremely uncomfortable, the worst part of the rental was actually the smell. The only thing I can compair the smell to is hot, wet cat food. The smell faded a little over time, but was most noticeable when the heat was on. It was terrible, and compacted by the fact that I needed to drive the car from eastern PA to VA to IN. Then from IN to VA to eastern PA, in January when the heat needed to be on all the time!!! It was a miserable experience. When I returned the car at the Hertz counter, I told them about my experience and the woman didn’t even say sorry it was a bad experience. I have been renting with Hertz multiple times a year for about five years, but after this experience I will have to do some true soul searching before I consider them in the future.

The place didnt exist
Pros: They literally booked me at a location that no longer existed. Then they refused to refund. I really loved that. Totally didn't ruin my vacation at all.
Cons: Everything. I never actually got my car and they kept 2/3rds of my money.
I loved the service
Pros: The rental counter personal were lovely. The car was clean and comfortable.
Cons: The car was clearly having some issues. I suspect it was a transmission issue that only occurred on occasion at low speeds or in park. It was disappointing because when I travel far distances in a rental car, I rent a car because I am concerned about having car issues with my own car. I don't expect these issues with a renal.
Basic Model Car - Bit Surpising
Pros: The basic daily rental fee was affordable, unlimited miles were definitely nice, excellent gas mileage, ease of pickup (fast counter service), dropoff was nice because an employee met us in the parking lot, noticed I had my 4 year old with me, and offered to drive us to the curb since it was raining. Kudos to him!
Cons: I have rented a lot of cars and was surprised to find that this was a basic bare bones model, no bells and whistles, not even a backup cam! The car smelled funky too...like a combination of body odor and a faint possible hint of cigarette smoke. It wasn't cleaned out thoroughly because I found some guys mail and drink bottle under the passenger seat. The worst part was that the damage waiver fee ended up costing more than the rental itself, $29/day or something crazy! I've always known damage waivers to range from $11-$17 per day so this was an unpleasant shock. I was just overall disappointed and usually I'm pretty easy to please.
Hertz in Allen town PA.
Pros: The attendent was willing to stay until my flight came in late that night.
Cons: The price of insurance was very high. The price of $45 for 4 days, for month it would be 337/mo, I'm not paying that much for 6months of insurance.
Pros: The young man at this location was professional, courteous, friendly and extremely efficient. Made everything go smoothly.
Pros: My flight was delayed 3 hours. The woman at the desk said they would close at 11PM I called the desk there since it was the last flighte into Allentown, PA and I still had to drive an hours to my sisters in NJ . The girl answer stated she would wait till I go in to make sure I had a car. Great customer service!
drop off is a problem
Cons: Previously, all one had to do was drop the car off in the parking area and the attendant took care of everything including mileage, keys, condition etc. When i arrived and late because of unusually bad traffic, i was told by the attendant that i had to take the keys and the mileage to the desk. I protested and then took the keys and mileage to the desk. There were other disgruntled returnees there and not one...NOT ONE Hertz employee there! I had to drop the keys and the paperwork on the desk to get my flight. This will prompt me to not use Hertz in the future.
Pros: Service was fast, efficient and thorough. The car was clean, reliable, and in excellent condition! .... It only added ease to my journey!
Very Poor customer service
Pros: Car was good.
Cons: The customer service at pickup was the worst I have ever experienced with a car rental!! There were about 20 people in line and one CSR !! I waited 1 hour and 15 minutes in line! Called the home office. Nothing happened. And they weren't going to do anything other than to say I'm sorry. I demanded, and finally got a one level upgrade. They made me miss most of an important meeting. Very poorly run!!
Cons: Allentown Airport Auto Rental Drop-off sucks. The cost of the auto rental itself was excellent value/cost; however once you add in the "walk-away" insurance, the value proposition drops dramatically.

Not that bad...
Pros: When our trip plans changed, Hertz was able to accommodate our new change without many issues.
Cons: They did not have a car ready when i arrived to get the car. This set our trip back 2 hours and changed a lot of things that were connected to timing.
Annoying coupon policy
Pros: Car was fine, people at the counter were friendly
Cons: Had a voucher which didn't work in any of the spots for coupons or promotions online. Brought it to the counter and since the coupon exceeded the amount due I could only redeem that amount. Ended up upgrading car so I could use full voucher amount.
Cons: The outside of the van was very dirty. The inside was clean. The gas tank was 1/2 empty instead of 3/4. Also there was a piece of the front of the van was hanging off. The staff was very kind and professional. I informed him of the piece of the van and the gas. I'm hoping that I don't get charged for fill the tank more than 1/2.
