7.0 Good
Pros: The room was lovely
Cons: Walked over for dinner in the storm, which was booked, to be told there was power cut which is fine, however could they not have phoned to room before we made our way over? And no offer of a free drink to appease us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was lovely
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Restaurant food was overly expensive
3.7 Mediocre
Cons: Walls were paper thin and could every single step outside the door and every conversation above, to my left and to my right. Food was over priced for very average quality. Stuffed mushrooms are a flobby joke. Pool temps are far too low and the Sunarium was broken
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Loved that I was able to schedule a last minute spa treatment! The shuttle to and from the pier is very very helpful. The staff were great - very accommodating. The pool and spa that come with the hotel stay are perfect!
Cons: Only one stressed bar tender made ordering drinks a bit difficult, but the rest of the staff were great!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The staff are incredibly friendly and very accomodating.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing, so modern, clean and all the comforts you need after adventuring the island. The staff were super friendly also.
Cons: If no water provided in rooms, as I appreciate environmental cause. There should be a suitable water tap on each floor. That is literally the only thing I could fault.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious, comfortable and warm
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the facilities, the room, the lounge with fire
Cons: the food in the restaurant was very mediocre (we went to Cruize)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly located and easy to get to. Lovely hotel. Room was very clean and comfortable. Food was amazingly good, big portions and very tasty (evening meal and breakfast) Only thing I could mention negative would be that there was no TV in the room, but wasn’t that big a deal. Would stay here again and would recommend to others
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was basic but warm and the building itself was great and in a great location. The staff were very friendly and helpful and place is fantastic for pets. Danny the owner was great and really made you feel at home. I will be using this place from now on when visiting Arran.
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was lovely; room was clean with a nice sea view; good location right on the seafront. Dinner in the bar was great too.
Cons: Kind of expected the room to have a tv but that’s my own fault as it does say on the website that their rooms don’t! But given the price, thought it would be standard for a tv to be there for relaxing at night; we were there in bad weather and don’t really drink so we didn’t have many options for the evening.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly, helpful
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: The staff refused to put the heating on in the hotel in October and left the main front door open all day. Hotel was absolutely freezing to the point that we didn't stay for dinner and left a day early.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment Stuart checked us in, we felt really welcomed. All the staff were excellent and really helpful. We had lunch on the day we arrived and dinner two of the nights. Every meal we had was smashing. The lasagne portion was enormous!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: location, food and drinks and helpfulness of staff. Provided plenty of gluten free options
Cons: Room was a bit cold - storage heaters

Pros: Staff helpful and friendly. Meals very good with a great choice and well served. We left on the morning the Hotel was due to close due to the Covid 19 virus. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely large room with views over the sea and of Goat Fell .super comfy bed, large bathroom and big bath . Breakfast choice was lovely and evert taste.
Cons: We were in the disabled access room with the toilet close to the window, just for a bit more privacy (with out needing to close the curtains every time I need to use the toilet ) it would have been helpful to have a bit of frosted glass covering that could keep the room bright and light and keep your privacy. This is not a big deal and didn’t in any way spoil our stay, as would very highly recommend the Douglas hotel for everyone wanting a stay in Arran.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here several times over the past 20 years. Pete and the team are just fantastic. Rooms are spacious, cosy and clean. The dinner menu is full of variety and choice and the dishes for vegetarians are exciting and well thought thru. Lucky for me our ferry got cancelled and I could have the same meal as the previous evening again. The bar is well stocked with a very good selection of Arran malts, some you can't even find at the distillery anymore. Eva was on duty in the evenings in the restaurant and her attention to details was astonishing. She also knows her whisky quite well. I would not mind our ferry getting cancelled again next time we get on the island.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely atmosphere. The bar has furniture made from Whiskey barrels, very authentic and comfortable, a lovely touch. The bedrooms were so welcoming and comfortable. Olde world in the best sense. Characterful furniture reminding you of bygone times. The bathroom had beautiful toiletries. Hardly wanted to leave the room. The lounge with its log fire was comfortable and welcoming.
Cons: Public toilets by the bar are about to be renovated. Adequate but basic, not in keeping with the rest of the place yet.

I was a woman alone with a child and the other half of or family were somewhere else, but I felt completely safe and comfortable. Couldn’t have asked for more.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location breakfast and wonderful hosts
Cons: I Could not find anything to fault! Enjoyed my stay and will be back

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lodge was beautiful and the staff were amazing! Recommended places to eat and also gave a free upgrade as the lodge was quiet the weekend of our stay!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Communication with the owner was out of this world. I booked sleep huts, but on my request for a quiet room, I was give, pricier, room in the lodge, that is, as per the owner words, quieter. Very very thoughtful of him. He was super helpful, amazing guy, The room was on a quite small size, but as paid less for a sleep hut, I would not complain at all. The kitchen facilities are fantastic. Kitchen is kept clean, there is plenty of room in the fridge for your food, and location of this place is just by the sea. We actually had a sea front view which was a huge bonus. I would definitely stay in this place again, and I can very much recommend this place.
Cons: Not much really. All very nice and amazing stay for a hiking holiday
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic views and peaceful location
Cons: Needs a bit of tlc, but I understand this is being done as funds become available. Doors need draught excluders or proper fitting as wind came through. MIDGES ! - not much that can be done really, but cutting back some of the plants under the balconies may help
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, in quiet area but only a 10 min walk from bus station. Cosy comfy room. Awesome advice from staff upon arrival on areas to explore, walks etc.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely stay - we were upgraded to a lovely, clean, comfortable room. The cooking facilities are brilliant - modern and well cared for, would absolutely recommend!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I like how very attentive Nancy is. Nothing is too big an ask. The staff are great.
Cons: I don't like that whoever is staying in 'the retreat' lets their dog run about unleashed. My dog suffers from PTSD having been baited for dog fights in her previous life before I rescued her, and she doesn't cope well around other dogs, so we are terrified every time we leave or arrive at the property in case the other dog is wandering freely. My dog wears a 'nervous' coat to let other dog companions know that she's not good around other dogs, but this hasn't made any difference with the companion of the unleashed dog. Some folk just think that because their dog is okay, that it doesn't matter.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly they provided us with information around the island. The rooms were very well made and the bed was super comfortable, we got upgraded to a sea view as it was quiet and the view was spectacular! We were only there for one night but it was amazing, the other guests were also friendly, cooking last night and had a chat with another guest and the company was great!
Cons: There wasn’t a single bad thing to say but boy get ready for the walk up the drive!- it’s a killer but maybe I’m just unfit!

Cons: Towel rail in the bathroom not working
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here before and it has perfect views across the bay
Cons: The shower was lukewarm.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The property was very comfortable and clean with friendly staff.
Cons: On my visit the Hotel it had a very strong oil fume smell throughout the hotel which meant relaxing in the public areas was not an option. The bar was not fully stocked with a poor selection available. Unable to enjoy a dinner in the hotel due to the unpleasant fumes - this should have been addressed more urgently and guests apologised to for this situation. I booked out a day earlier than planed due to issue noted and would hope this is addressed going forward as the Hotel is in a prime location and apart from the points I have mentioned would be a good place to stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. unpretentious environment. Furnishings high quality and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Evening meal good.
Cons: No drying boot room for walkers
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Having stayed at the Glenisle before we were aware of the excellent location of this property and the stunning views over to the Holy Isle. The young gentleman who checked us in was most pleasant & helpful. As we were only booked for one night we did not have our evening meal in the restaurant this time, but can advise that the breakfast was tasty and there was adequate choices available. This was also served by the young man who we had met previously. Our room was warm & the bed also very comfortable. All in all a pleasant overnight and we intend to return sometime in the near future as this was excellent value for money
Cons: Having visited before noticed that there were some very minor issues which could be improved upon. The blind in our bedroom was very faded and marked in one corner in particular, and it was difficult to open & close. The window screen in the bathroom was also ripped in one corner. There were bulbs missing from the mirror (also in the bathroom) and the taps were slightly loose and dripped. Small details which could be easily rectified.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was really good - freshly cooked, good choice

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is incredible, I don't think it can be matched in terms of its beauty and wildlife.
Cons: The twin room we stayed in was a little small and we could have done with a full size cupboard to hang clothes.

Pros: Had wee cupboard to store your stuff, but you need to bring your own lock. Nice hostel though compared to some I have stayed in.

Pros: Beautiful and comfortable room with amazing views in a very nice house. Allan, the guy who runs it is really nice, kind and friendly. So do his three small dogs. The place is very quiet and it's so well located, just in the middle of Arran so it's easy going everywhere in the isle. I've been very happy these 5 days.
Cons: Nothing to say, everything was good.

Pros: Great hospitality by Ross and team. Even the locals did testify of the warm hospitality offered at Glenartney. Food was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Where to start... beautifully decorated, dry room for wet clothes, home baking available all day, great breakfasts with locally sourced ingredients and veggie/ vegan options, extra bathroom for use if you fancy a bath, TWO comfortable lounges, a library of useful guidebooks, interested but unobtrusive hosts with lots of information about the island. I was a woman alone with a child and the other half of or family were somewhere else, but I felt completely safe and comfortable. Couldn’t have asked for more.

7.0 Good
Pros: The room was lovely
