We were scheduled to travel at 12pm. The flight got delayed with no updates until 11:30am. They advised that we will receive an update at 1pm. However, the flight was then delayed until 6pm with no clear indication as to if that was the departure time. It was NOT! They decided to combine two of their scheduled flights into one due to the smaller number of passengers. If you do not wish to be inconvenienced, “STAY AWAY FROM THIS AIRLINE”!!!!!!They do have a track record of this!
Flight was delayed more than 2 hours in departure. Boarding was lengthy and passengers were very rude. I waited on the plane for almost an hour once boarded and it was very hot. The passenger next to me was clearly I’ll: coughing and sneezing the entire flight.
Bigger seats with longer seat belts
Very courteous staff at the gate and excellent assistance with my needs as a handicapped person on board. The flight itself was uncomfortable, with tight seating and seats they don’t recline, so be aware. The aircraft itself is old and worn, and it shook a lot and made a lot of noise, especially upon takeoff and at landing. But, hey it’s a short flight and it got me back home to Florida safely, so….
I feel that I was scammed by BahamasAir. Both on flights 202 and 207, to and from Nassau - Fort Lauderdale June 2, June 6. I paid for 2 full size bags and selected seats. On both flights they told me I had not paid for luggage or seats. I was charged $100 extra each way without seat assignment. BahamasAir does not participate in TSA Pre Check. Even if you have it you cannot use it. Instead endure long lines because BahamasAir will not pay their share of PreCheck.
Booked thru you. Paid and was supposed to have 1 checked bag and seat 3 C; with the same for my wife sitting on the opposite side of the aisle in 3D. At airport we had to pay $ 25 each for 1 bag each.. we’d were given seats inn row 17
Boarding process was smooth and easy. The crew was friendly and communicable and transparent about the delay at the landing destination.
Flight was delayed 7hours due to multiple planes having mechanical issues.
Thanks Bahamasair!! See you again
Nothing to add! I will definately use your website again. Thank you
No matter how many times I gave a try to this company it’s always a bad experience. Never, never leave on time, the shortest delay it’s an hour, but I had passed more time at Nassau airport than any other airport in the world. Saving a few dollars flying with Bahama air, it’s not worth it.
It was good. Maybe some juice and snack can be served on the flight.
It was a safe flight and am happy to be back on the ground in my island.
Bahamasair needs to shut down! The staff in unhelpful, rude, ignorant, disrespectful and unprofessional! Due to the strike at the airport, we were stuck in TSA and unable to catch our flight! We arrived at the airport with more than enough time; however, due to the inconvenience of the staff members and TSA we missed our flight and are now stuck in Bahamas with no accommodation!
Bahamasair needs to shut down. All staff are rude, not experienced and lack character! We arrived to the airport with more than enough time and due to the strike that the airport is having we were stuck in TSA and unable to catch our flight due to the Bahamasair staff!
Huge delays and slow boarding and checkin process
BahamasAir is the best for value flight, 1 bag included!
We were delayed waiting for a passenger, not crew, not a Marshall, not customs, a passenger. We left after we were supposed to have landed in Florida. No food, no drinks, no wifi, just an old plane packed full.
We booked our flights via Expedia. We received several communications via email from Bahamasair to update us on our booking including flight changes. We responded to the Bahamasair email to check in on 7/16/2021 (the day before our flight) and experienced challenges with the website. I called Bahamasair call center and they attempted to help us but said that they couldn't but we could check in fine from the airport. I asked to speak with a manager and the woman told me the managers were gone for the day. I begged her to assist so that we wouldn't have hassles at the airport. She assured us that everything was fine and that we could check in at the airport. When I protested she hung up on me. When we attempted to check in today at the attendant said that we couldn't check in because our flights were not ticketed (not paid for by expedia). After much debate (after showing proof of ticketing and payment) I was forced to pay nearly $500 for flights that we already booked and paid for just so we could get home. My wife and I lost over an hour of our vacation trying to check in as prompted a day before our flight only to be totally humiliated in front of other people at the airport. I have spent countless hours going back and forth with Bahamasair and Expedia only to be out HOURS of my time, an additional $500! My wife and I work hard and this was not the way to finish a well deserved vacation. AVOID BAHAMASAIR at all COST!!!
Cons: Be prepared to be extremely late with zero communication. Check in will be at the airport and is extremely inconvenient and disorganized. Their website and emails do not work, so you may not get a flight confirmation and you will definitely not be able to access any flight details online.
Pros: We didn’t crash, that’s the only good aspect of this entire flight.
Cons: Took an hour and 3 minutes just to check in and check baggage. There were only 2 people ahead of us. Gate was changed with no notification. Sat in the airplane for 45 minutes with no air, and no reason as to why we had not left the gate. Didn’t even push back from the gate until after were were scheduled to land in Fort Lauderdale. Horrible organization, horrible communication, needs a lot of work.
Pros: Crew was very helpful, they helped with our issues. But the technical issues that they were having when checking everybody in, was insane! Arrived at 9am when flight was 12:30, I got my boarding pass at 12:05. Then crew had to delay for 2 hours in a half .
Cons: Maybe having an IT technician on sight. Someone who understand the software you use because it kept crashing. Other than that, it was great
Pros: Crew was professional courteous and it was a relaxed setting. Bahamasair is getting better and better.
Cons: Boarding announcement was a bit low.
Cons: This airline does not care about punctuality. Flight times are approximate. They are all way too relaxed and expect flights to be late. No explanation. No apology. They fly jets and props and one never knows what equipment they choose to fly on a particular day/
Pros: I liked that they allowed me to catch an earlier flight without cost.
Cons: The flight being on time could’ve been better.
Pros: I liked that I was getting to my destination!
Cons: The space! I felt like a sardine in a can. The air system wasn’t pushing much air. So it was hot and tight!
Cons: The flight was very late and not a lot of info shared as to why. Nearly missed my connection!
Pros: Crew was helpful
Cons: Better entertainment
Cons: There was a two hour delay in our take off time. Has to improve
Cons: Seats were broken, some with duct tape on them

Operating out of a primary hub in Nassau, Bahamasair schedules a range of services across the Caribbean and into the United States. In addition to more than 10 domestic locations across the Bahamas, flights are also available to Cuba and Haiti. It plays a major role in connecting the isolated islands of Turks and Caicos.
Since commencing operations in 1973, the airline has become wholly owned by the Bahamian Government and recognized as the national flag carrier. It is the only carrier that reaches some of the Out Islands that make up the Bahamas, providing a vital transport link for locals and vacationers alike.
Economy is the only cabin class available on Bahamasair services, meaning there is no class separation or preferential treatment. A singular carry-on bag is allowed weighing no more than 20 lb. Sports equipment, such as windsurfing, kitesurfing and surfboards, are permitted as checked baggage as long as they do not exceed a maximum weight of 100 lb. A mixture of both ATR and Boeing aircraft are used by Bahamasair. Dual propeller jets, such as the ATR 42 and ATR 72, are used for shorter flights within the Caribbean. These planes are capable of carrying between 50 and 70 passengers. Longer routes, such as those to the United States and Haiti, are conducted with Boeing 737 jets. The aircrafts feature blue underbellies that match the ocean of the Caribbean, as well as a multi-colored design on the tail that reflects a map of the Bahamas.
